I imagine that maybe the military tried to set a trap for godzilla somehow (I don't know, don't ask me) and he is roaring at them before being either a) caught in an explosion beneath him and buried (which would explain why we see his hand on the ground as he is getting up or b) he is bombarded with missles and knocked down in which case would also lead to him getting back up. Well that's just my crazy theory.
@CORNCLOTBRUMBLE - Don't believe her! She's not real! ITS A TRAP
Or maybe it's me? I never saw much of a giant monster shot in the day time in a movie. So never mind that last post of it being non ligit.
It would be cool to touch him.
Dosent godzilla attack San Francisco in the rain and fog? Cause in this shot it's sunny and nice. That's the golden gate bridge behind him. I don't think its ligit, cause the fact of how the shot is. Godzilla will not shrink if he does in this movie, I'll be pissed off! But that's not the case, cause in that tv spot where Aron taylor Johnson is in San fransico and godzillas hand comes crashing down, you can clearly see how big he is. So shrinking is out of the picture, but this does not look ligit to me. But I could be wrong.
@godzillarim
godzilla does look a bit small, he looks like hes as close to the foreground as the people, and his hand is the size of 1 person. meh idk, looks legit though
The mutos woke up big bad Godzilla from his nap and he mad
Is this legit, because godzilla looks a bit small, remember the airport scene, with godzilla's foot, it is huge! and the people right there in that picture seem to be a lot bigger than the people in the airport scene because godzilla's foot was gigantic. so maybe the theory of godzilla shrinking might be true afterall, I don't want that, so lets hope thats just the angle of godzilla.
GODZILLA RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't see why it'd be a fake @Bikowsky, this is from the LA Times website.
My favorite so far is the newest one by Alexandre Desplate which is just titled Godzilla.
great idea as always SOMETHING REAL, and ya, I think you could be spot on with this one and it sure as hell would make for an incredible visual!!
you'll have to pm me i dont think the mods want it out in the open
@somethingreal
I'm not sure if they changed it in the final script though
@cornclotgrumble
spoiler: i hear godzilla will be in this movie
Jesus man, stop with that okay? No spoilers.
Incredible shot! Nice find! But looks like it's not legit, because in this lightning conditions Godzilla must be almost a silhouette.
So, um, someone just said to me "I want to know what it feels like to touch a motherbleeping Godzilla!" o.0
it is exactly that in the leaked script
RatedRex' post is actually pretty good. This isn't the 60s/70s anymore. The general public opinion has changed. What was a "success" back then won't fly these days.
I had never thought about it before now, but he brought up a very good point. And anyone citing the Vs. series of films as conclusive evidence that a Vs. film would do well today and then going on to call him out for not being a "true fan" then, well, you should really step back and reevaluate yourself as a fan because you are the worst kind: A blind one.
I'm firmly in the "This film should be a one and done" type deal. This film's going to be golden amongst fans, but its going to take the mainstream crowd to really give it a boost and I think it's more of a novelty to most people than anything else since it's "new". What we're seeing now will not carry over to a sequel no matter what it's about. A second attempt with disastrous consequences would surely put Godzilla in the ground for good and I don't want to see that happen.
sure looks like gills now, it even looks "opened", well, we'll see
Ha! You know...I wouldn't be surprised. Thats good work SR!
@TRUE AMERICAN GODZILLA - His size doesn't necessarily mean he will be as physically strong as his older incarnations. Gareth Edwards is aiming to keep this film as grounded as possible and as such I personally don't see him comparing to Final Wars Godzilla who not only possesed insane levels of physical strength, enough to throw Emperor Ghidorah (A much larger Kaiju) far into the sky and Kumonga well over the visible horizon, but his standard atomic breath had Red spiral ray level feats, usually finishing off all but the most elite of his oponents in one hit.
While it is true and very impressive that Godzilla 2014 withstood, possibly multible megatons of explosive power, I'll wait to see what else he has in terms of durability. I remember in one of the tv spots he was being fired upon by multiple missles and they seemed to affect him to some degree. I don't think I need to restate how durable Final Wars Godzilla is. The man's a TANK. When I think about it though, mostly all modern incarnations of the monster have retarded durability feats. There's the instance in G against MG where he survived being frozen at absolute zero and some how broke free, probably thanks to his nuclear pulse ability. Godzilla's durability in almost all of his recent showings are pretty broke lol. Combined with his insane regen I'd say no fight between the zilla's would be quick, but there is a difference in power.
Sadly there is no way of knowing Godzilla's true age.
Just to clear things up, the toy descriptions say that he's from a time when radiation was about 10 times as plentiful as it is today. They don't say anything about a time before dinosaurs. I'm not sure where that came from, but I've checked the toy line ups and I don't see anything about dinosaurs.
Anyway, Godzilla's true age is best left as a mystery. Every answer we discover demystifies him that much further and takes away from his appeal and mystique.
