my favorite is the original 54. my other favorites are godzilla 84, godzilla biollante, Godzilla vs King ghidorah and GMK.

Final wars is cool too but there are to many science fiction,alien, matrix things.

I think mine would have to be Godzilla vs. The Thing or Ghidirah, The Three-Headed Monster not counting the OG.

I myself love Godzilla vs destroyah....loved the plot and fights especially...just hated he died since the heisei gojira is my favorite

Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II (1993)

My favorite would be 1998 and 1984 and I'm not joking about 1998

It has to be Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla because it gave us two Godzillas for the price of one (At least for the most part)

GMK all day. Godzilla Mothra King Ghidorah was a Bad Ass movie. Millenium era kicks ass.

Biollante is my number one. I will admit, the film has its flaws:

1) Some of the Western actors are suspect

2) The score isn't terrible, though confusing and disjointed at times

3) The human drama lags in areas.

However, it's strong in a lot of catergories and that's way I find myself reaching for it on the shelf so often.

1) Some of the best FX in the whole series.

2) Best G design in my opinion and the animatronic used in conjunction with the suit gave G more personality than ever.

3) Unique and beautiful monster design in Biollante herself.

4) Addressing gene theropy and cloning long before Hollywood made it a staple of monster movies with Jurassic Park, etc.

'Theres so many i like. but can someone tell me 3-5 of the godzilla movies i should watch leading up to the new one?

1964's Mothra vs Godzilla, easily. Particularly the American dub, which I think is unmatched even to this day. My Mom bought it and The Terror of Mecha Godzilla for my birthday when I was in high school and these two really stick with me. But Mothra vs Godzilla was filled with epic plot that put me through a myriad of feelings. It also had awesome battles, memorable characters, and some of the best movie scoring you could ever want to hear, not to mention it introduced me to two of my all time favorite monsters.

Probably the original 1954 Gojira(with no Raymund Burr) and Godzilla Final Wars. But now my favorite is going to be Godzilla 2014!

ghidorah the three headed monster from showa godzilla vs destroyah from heisei and godzilla 2000 from millinnium series are my 3 choices

Godzilla 2014, since it's an instant classic, it qualifies.

The very first Godzilla film I saw, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla 2.

Gojira '54, and the U.S. '56 right behind were both the best, but as for favorite...Godzilla vs. Megalon--because it was the first one I ever saw.
