The Titan War can be explored in another medium other than a theatrical film.

To try and sell a MonsterVerse film with very little or no human characters to a general audience would be a huge gamble that I don’t think would be worth taking.

When you consider how each MonsterVerse installment hasn’t really been a box office hit so far, and has made less than $570 million USD, it just wouldn’t make sense for Legendary to invest a crapton of money (I’m talking over $400 million!) into a film that wouldn’t be a guaranteed critical and financial success.

What do you think are the chances of a humanless MonsterVerse making more money than the previous entries in this series? We are talking about a film that would have very little human involvement in the story, and would be told almost entirely from the perspective of 300 foot tall monsters, who take up a lot of space and aren’t as dynamic in a setting as smaller characters like Caesar the Ape and the Autobots are. And just because Kaiju fans connect with the monsters on a deeper level doesn’t mean the majority of moviegoers will do the same. I feel that a Godzilla: BC film would be a film that would either propel or kill the MonsterVerse.

So in order to avoid taking such a big risk like that, Legendary could do one of two things:

1. Make a straight-to-streaming Titan War anime with a reduced budget. If the Skull Island anime is successful, maybe that will motivate Legendary to make another anime set during the time of the ancient civilizations that coexisted with the Titans.

2. Tell the story of the Titan War through flashbacks in future Godzilla and Kong graphic novels.

To be honest the titan war isnt as interesting to me. Would have been better if it had been built up too in KSI, KOTM and had been alluded to more than one comment in GvK

expecting the worst, sets you up for thr worst
