I like the "sternum horn" too. It helps to set this design apart fromwhat came before. It also features the 'angularity' I was kind of anticipating from a Anno-Higuchi (and Maeda) Godzilla.
@Jamaal and Gman2887,
Something is telling me that next month they'll show a little bit more of the design in a new poster. And, I want one to hang up in my room.

Wait...sternum horn...wouldn't that be a part of his ribcage?

This film, this Shin Gojira, continues to look good. It has a 'presence' even when there isn't a lot being reported or revealed. It's like the monster who's still in the story even when off camera, because of the references being made to it in the narrative.

You and me both. As for a look at the design, I'd like to see it straight on and a full body shot. A picture giving some sense of scale would be nice too.
Also, round trip tickets to Tokyo and lodging for longtime Godzilla fans who are also Navy veterans would be an excellent gesture, very gracious and generous.
Looking ahead, I would like to see the eventual Blu-ray, DVD release get special treatment. This would include: commentaries by the directors and designers, a look into Goji-con, making of/behind the scenes (icluding interviews with Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi), opening night/premiere coverage, trailers/TV spots and footage of the events held during the run up to, or after, the theatrical release. I remember there being an event at Shinjuku Loft Plus One after the release of GMK. There are pictures of it on Shusuke Kaneko's website. If the same is done for Shin Gojira, I would like to see it. (Actually, I rather be at it.)
If I think of anything else, I'll share it.
Any ideas?
Here's the link to the description and photos of the GMK event at Shinjuku Loft Plus One:

I believe the narrative is provided by Norman England, our door to so many things Toho and Daiei related.
Don't think I was ever aware of the Loft Plus One event for GMK. Those are some nice pictures and really nice nod of how important that particular movie was to both fans and the franchise. It's nice to recall certain films of higher quality not being treated like ever other movie in the series.
Thanks Jamaal.
You're very welcome, Gman.
Yes. It looks like it was something special, with all of that talent on hand to talk about this significant entry in the Franchise.
I hope, I would like, to see something comparable for Shin Gojira. I think we all believe that it could be something very special. If that potential is realized, I hope this film gets accorded the treatment a landmark film deserves. And if it is, I hope it can also be arranged to make this treatment accessible to fans (and non-fans, for that matter) outside of Japan.
Dear Toho: if Anno and Higuchi come through for you (and I believe they will), please be an advocate for the fans and push for a Blu-ray/DVD release that befits a great Godzilla film. I know it's not completely up to you. But we would like to see and experience as much of Shin Gojira as we can. Yes, I know: the film is still under production, so this is somewhat premature. But, it's just a feeling this fan, this longtime fan, has.
Sincerely,
Jamaal
@Jamaal,
An idea would also be to have Godzilla experts like August Ragone, Ed Godzieswki, and Steve Ryfle to provide some kind of background through commentary like the classic media release of the Toho Godzilla collection.
Ah, good old Gmk. Thanks for that link Jamaal.
I'm beginning to think that around March will also be the month the full official movie poster will be revealed. Or, within the next two months some official marketing for toys and stuff will be released.
Man, the countdown is underway and my ego can't handle this build up. It's been 32 years, well almost, since the last solo Godzilla film. And, I'm really looking forward to this.

Dear Toho,
Please let Godzilla Resurgence come to North America for a theatrical release like Godzilla 2000. That's all I'm asking for at this point and I believe others like me would love to experience another Japanese Godzilla film on the big screen.
Sincerely,
Huge-Ben.

Yes! A limited theatrical release in North America a la Attack On Titan would be most welcomed and appreciated. Also, it could be screened by entities like American Cinemateque, which has hosted screenings of Godzilla films at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. A limited release in the regular theaters will help to expose feature fans to this beautiful genre, art form and series.
And as Huge-Ben alluded to, there is nothing like experiencing Godzilla on the big screen.
