MemberMothra LarvaeNov-13-2014 6:11 AMFrom the way the film concluded with Godzilla graciously returning to the sea as the problem solver to other giant threats...could this be an indication for the sequel that the Government and Monarch decide to use Godzilla as a weapon of their own against any threats?? This could be done by luring Godzilla to battle zones using Muto echo location type frequencies to target a threat, and manipulate Godzilla's trajectory where ever they want him to turn up.
As far as we know this is the only method of getting Godzilla to resurface, and the only downside to this would be that any introduction of Mecha-Kaiju for defense purposes would not be needed...which to some may be a disappointment (me included)...While I think there is alot of potential there i am anxious to see if that's the road they take.
What do you guys think??

MemberTitanosaurusNov-13-2014 6:27 AMAlthough I can see governments discussing the possibility, I don't see it coming to fruition, what with Godzilla beign smart enough to tell the difference between artificial and organic echolocation somehow.
HOWEVER!
I do see them trying to use an alternative method that could work a bit better, mainly..... taking something away from the King that he's guaranteed to surface for to get back. What that something is? Who knows. But Humanity needs to give him a reason to come back up for their own purposes at all, which basically means pissing him off :P

MemberBaragonNov-13-2014 6:32 AMInteresting idea, but the idea of "controling" Godzilla in some way seems to negate the Godzilla concept Legendary created in the first film; the Monster King is a force of nature, and can no more be controled than a hurricane or tidal wave.
Now IF mankind somehow found a way to trigger a Godzilla appearence with technology, bringing the monster to the exact location they want him (perhaps to attack him) would be an interesting angle for a sequel idea. How they do it without hurting the god-like image they created for the monster would be interesting.

Good grief.

MemberGodzillaNov-13-2014 3:17 PMALX - What a very compelling notion! I'd certainly have to say that, were the military capable of effecting such a plan, they'd usher in a whole new era of "biological" warfare! Thank you for bringing this neat topic to us! :)
