MemberMothra LarvaeNov-03-2014 2:39 PMBeing that it's Godzilla 60th birthday today, Toho has started the 60th Anniversary Festival in order to celebrate it. At this festival everything Godzilla will be discussed, from Godzilla (1954) to Godzilla (2014) to the new Godzilla (PS3) game. This thread shall be used to monitor the festival and anything they dicuss. Here are some pictures and a video from the Festival. Enjoy!
Godzilla enjoying his Birthday celebration!! Don't think anyone can understand the "Skreeonks" though lol
Godzilla accepts his birthday gift, a celebration award for destroying and saving the world for 60 years as Toho's(And Japan's) most thriving franchise and icon!!
Godzilla 60th Anniversary Festival Program is really kicking things off pretty big!! Lots of talks about every film within the franchise, the love for them and the monster icons who starred in them. Talk excitedly about the successful revi...val of Gareth Edwards GODZILLA and the upcoming sequel GODZILLA 2. There was a huge Godzilla gaming area, where they played Super Godzilla and Godzilla Destroy All Monsters(Godzilla Battle Legends/SNES), having loads of fun and chaotic battles. Tons of marketplaces and table shops, autograph signings, and wonderful interviews with previous suit actors.
Of course they make the revealed announcement of GODZILLA coming to Japan on Blu-Ray and DVD in Feb next year.
In terms of GODZILLA(PS3) noting noticeable has come up yet, but the main twitter page has announced that they will be going on at 21:30, this being 9:30PM in Japan. But 9:30AM in EST timezone today. So if you want to catch any news, be up around 9:30-10:00AM if you're on the EST side today. The festival will be winding down by then, so it's probably the last event.
Check out a wonderful video segment of Godzilla receiving his award during his 60th Anniversary Birthday Festival!
That's all for now. I will update this as soon as more from the Festival arrives.
