Welcome to the first monster gin of my new series Legendary origins. Every Monday i will take a monster and give it a origin that is simar to its original but more realistic to fit the Legendary series. Today's monster is Baragon, the small red skined digging monser from the movies Frakenstien vs Bragon, Destroy All Monsters, and GMK.

Origin: Baragon is from a species of animals that lived a few million years after the radiation stabalized on Earth and giant monsters like Godzilla and the MUTOs have left the surface leaving smaller animals like baragons to live. The baragon species evolved to hide from predators by having extremely long claws to help it in digging. While digging the species will dig several hundred meters underground and can live underground for several years since they can eat other monsters but digest the remains very slowly like snakes letting it live for several years without eating. Its horn was eveloped for two main reasons, for piercing the hide of other monsters, and to show mood. Wile the first use is obvious the second use of the horn was used to show predators that they were not going to run away and they should be scared. There is only one problem, why be scared of this thing? Here is one reason. After years of evolving the baragon species developed a way to breath fire. When the baragon is done eating and is digesting, instead of pooping like other animals the baragons poop but they poop into a special organ that stores the poop until they decompose and produce methan gas. When there is enough methan the baragon can choose to ignite the gasses and then release the fire out of his mouth since there is no oxygen in his :poop organ: the fire will shoot out of his mouth. The baragon that would be in the movies would be an adult and would have been sleeping undrground to avoid the two extinctons it had to live through bt is now awake from hearing Godzilla and other monsters that lived during his time.

So what do you guys think? The last part of my post will be a poll. Which design do you guys think would look better for a new Baragon?

I really like the idea of it deficating via flame breath, very cool!

I imagine the origin for the creature in the next movie will be tied to the nuke going off in San Fransisco.

I'm gonna vote the first picture strictly because the 2nd reminds me of the dogs from Ghostbusters

Oo yay the pictures are there. Thanks AL. I like a mix of the two. The red, ears, and claws from the first picture and the coolness and roughness of the second picture.

I like the main body of the second, but the design of the limbs of the first.

I like this. My vote is the second, but with the first's claws.
