Positives and Negatives (Slight Opinions, and SPOILERS)

Here are the positives and most importantly; THE NEGATIVES, of Godzilla. Now Im not saying some of these are facts or that everyone agrees with them, but these are what makes the movie really good and really disappointing:

Positives:

Awesometaculer monster action between Godzilla and Mutos.

Mutos are wonderful enemy monsters.

A few great soundtracks: Godzilla!, The Wave, Last Shot.

Jaw-dropping moments with Mutos and Godzilla scenes.

Some emotional human scenes, just some.

It's not boring at all.

Negatives:

Too much human drama making the movie's main plot kind of lost.

The movie isn't about Godzilla.

Not complaining, but I guess 25 mins of Godzilla would've been enough screen time for him.

Humans focus on trying to stop the Mutos throughout the whole movie and not Godzilla.

Godzilla's not causing destruction or on a rampage.

I'd prefer Godzilla more as in a bad guy, or not bad guy, but destroying the humans, not helping them.

If the movie was called "Muto", the whole movie would've made more sense.

Now Im sure all of you won't agree with me on these and some will, and yes, I know im not the best at being that clear or typing out good, but please lets discuss about this, add anything in the replies or lets sort of argue in a good way in the replies okay lol lets do this.

Remeber my friend were Godzilla is for the majority of the film. He is in the ocean trying to catch the Mutos. I'm sure we can both agree that Hawaii and San Fran., get absolutly wrecked in the film. But again, Godzilla spends most of his time out at sea. Unless there are several large undersea kingdoms under the Pacific we all don't know about, destruction by Godzillais going to be limited. This also ties into the humans trying to stop the Mutos. Until Godzilla shows up, the only thing standing between the Mutos and the take over of the Earth are the humans. Lets face it, we suck when it comes to trying to stop giant monsters right?

So yes, I can understand where you are coming from with this. Hopefully this will help you understand a few things.

Actually nah it didnt, im talking kinda about like the airport scene where it seemed kinda useless since the fight only lasted 10 seconds and all.

But to tell you, my problem might not have been because godzilla doesnt get enough screentime, my problem is that the movie feels that Godzilla was thrown into the movie for no reason and he basically had no place in the story like at ALL.

Just think about it, if Godzilla was never in this movie, the movie wouldve still gone about just fine without him because Godzilla was basically no use in this movie, and thats my problem.

The movie was about the Mutos, almost every single scene, not a single scene where it was about Godzilla, except the beginning and that one scene in the boat where they talk about using Godzilla to kill the mutos, but basically yes the movie is still not about Godzilla because hes not the main focus.
