Like the title says: SPIOLERS ALERT SPOILERS!!!!!!!

So, for those of you who have seen the movie already, we all know about the eye contact between Godzilla and Ford. Now, whenever I see that look on Godzilla's face I always think of him saying:" I'm sorry, I failed you....." but another thing that cathes me is that how HUMAN his face and eyes look. He looks so sad and defeated. It makes me think how much a really cares about the human race. But for that being another topic, here's my theory:

So, we all know Joe Brody, Ford's dad, blames the MUTO's (even though he doesn't know exactly what they are yet) for his wife's death. Now keep this in mind: Godzilla has not been awaken yet, but is still asleep somewhere in the ocean. After Joe finally sees for his very eyes what this creature truly is, he is imediattly killed off, by being thrown off a metal walk way from the muto's attack.

Now, my thinking is that Joe's spirit somehow awoke Godzilla, and maybe even took over his body, Because of my previous sayings of how Godzilla looked at Ford. But some other hints to this is that When Ford blew up the eggs and the female muto was going to eat him, Godzilla charged himself up like a boss, and saved Ford with his atomic breath. And also Godzilla never hurt any of the Navy ships, well at least not on purpose anyways. lol.

look, I know this sounds far fetched, but just think about it........Please leave your thoughts! but please keep them positive. thank you!

You know what? That is a really good theory. I completely agree with you. I think Godzilla did care about the humans and didn't want them to get hurt. So in a way he was protecting us from the MUTOs. I think you are right. Good thought :)

I agree with you with the theary and look. That actually explains alot.

It was clearly said by Gareth that Godzilla doesn't care about humans. The missiles and bridge are just pure coincidental.

To me, the scene where Godzilla looked into Ford's eyes made me think Godzilla was thinkng "Well would you look at that. Well I don't care about you so I'm just gonna go kill my prey, kay, thanks, bye."

Joe Brody's spirit and Godzilla's awakening would make sense if it was made by Toho but I think it would've been more implied if it happened.

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

What i think is :

Godzilla "Thank you so much tiny human..You just saved me from home work by killing those babby maggots"

GODZILLA'SWRATH - That's a very interesting theory you've presented! I'm somewhat of the opinion that Godzilla's eye contact with Ford was more of a moment of realization for both of them. In that instant, they both beheld intelligence and self-awareness in one-another - realized that neither was simply an animal. I believe it was meant to display a silent understanding between the man and the monster. :)

@Something Real - That is also a great theory. I agree with your's too! :)

@Something Real- Dang! I didn't even think of that! Awesome theory! Even thoough I cling to my theory, your's is probaly what Gareth was looking to acheive with that scene. Thank you VERY much for that idea!

Um, Godzilla's Wrath...nice.  Submit something that, at a bare minimum, is contestable if not laughable (hard to do with science fiction, but I think you've done it) and then demand everyone to be postive. Okay, I'll try...

I think there is zero percent chance that Edwards had that in mind.  Maybe 0.1...no, sorry 0.0.  Perhapsthere was an intention of some very basic, slight connection between the two as living creatures--probably along the most basic lines of life.  Yes, it's clear Godzilla has nothing against humans, but yes, the last writer had it right--he's just indifferent.  He's swimming next to ships, under ships, yes. But not because he's considerate, but just because he has a locked-on purpose which is very instinctive, and we're just in his way.  (BTW, to all the MUTO lovers out there--the people who feed bears--if the MUTO are so "cute" and just innocent animals, why are their actions so much more malevolent than Godzilla's? Oh yes, because they are parasites--the closest thing nature has to malevolency).

Well this indifference--if he really were as intelligent/thoughtful/spiritual as you suppose--would make NO SENSE.  Why?  Wellllll they did try to NUKE HIM 60 years ago, right?  Yeah, I'm guessing he'd have held that against us just a tad, don't ya think?  And not because he's gone Christian on us.  He's an intelligent animal with some personality--smarter than a dog, but probably not quite as smart as a dolphin or gorilla...and no, not seeing much spirit there (okay this is where the positive...part...hard...stiffling laughter...)

Okay, sorry, I disagree with you.

DEADITE KAIJU and GODZILLA'SWRATH - Thank you both very much! I'm greatly pleased that you both enjoy that theory. :)

CARL MAJORS - There's no need to be so overtly mocking of another indvidual's thoughts. GODZILLA'SWRATH was simply placing forth a theory in a jovial fashion with the intent of sparking friendly speculations and debate. There's no doubt that his suggestion carries a great deal of mysticism that might not have been present in Edwards' film. However, it did not openly mock the people of this site - it remained respectful. Please, I implore you to remain positive and constructive. We'd very much love to have as many people within this community as possible, and I'm certain you'd be a fantastic addition! :)

@Carl Majors- Wow. you're cute. I'm just here to make theories ( as is everyone else here on this website) about the new movie and hope everyone here will have enough common courtesy to be positive and not be a complete tool. you really think i'm demanding it? hey, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't come here and expect people to listen to your whiny ass. I'm just here to have fun, and some limp noodle, such as yourself, isn't going to stop that. There are MULTIPLE reasons as to why Godzilla is very intelligent. one of them being: HE FREAKING TOOK THOUGHT INTO HOW TO KILL THE FEMALE, AND THOUGHT 'HEY WHY NOT BLAST THIS SHIT DOWN HER THROAT?'

oh, and if you don't like listening to people's theories and are going to shut down EVERY theory, then why don't you take a gander behind you, take a few steps, and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

For some reason, I find it odd and I don't know if it was just me, but it looks like Godzilla gave off a sad smile in that scene. It seems like in this film Godzilla is much more intelligent than we think.

@Something Real- Thank you for posting that! sorry about what I just put here, but i'm just SICK  of people being tools who think they can go ahead and judge other peoples ideas cause they think they're better than everyone else. there are a BIG group of people in this dang age that don't have ANY common courtesy! Why can't people be more like you????

MemberGodzillaMay-18-2014 2:10 AM
KUROCHAN_24 - That's an extremely compelling observation! I'm going to have to watch the film again and pay very careful attention to that scene. Thank you for bringing this possibility to our attention! :)

@KUROCHAN_24- I 100% Agree with you! That part made me VERY sad. I almost cried!!!

but maybe that sad smile you saw was saying: everything will be alright.

Something Real

GODZILLA'SWRATH - It's quite alright. That being said, it's always better to respond to antagonism with constructive optimism. The post you created in order to challenge CHRIS MAJORS will have one of two outcomes: he will either choose to ignore it, or he will respond in kind by touching off an unpleasant confrontation with you. Neither of you will win that argument - and both of you will have squandered precious time on something that will only serve to make your day less pleasant. There will always be disagreements. However, what defines them is how we choose to deal with them. As such, I implore you: please amend the post in which you rise to his taunts. Don't let it bother you so. They're only words, and while they have power, they're only capable of influencing you if you let them. :)

Something Real: Oh come on...that wasn't even a bloody nose.  My ONLY pointed comment was, you can't write something in public and then say "only be positive."  Only appropriate? Sure.  Only clean language? Got it.  But if I want to laugh at it, I can...this is a public forum.  I didn't denigrate him personally, and I happened to think what he said was preposterous, okay?  He has a right to say what he wants, and well, so do I...and if I want to laugh at his theory, well...can't I? Lighten up folks!  We're discussing a fantasy movie!

Carl Majors

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 3:20 AM

Godzilla's Wrath: chill please, guy.  If you want to say something in public, then you can't up front say "don't criticize my idea."  That's basically what you did.  If you hadn't thrown that disclaimer in there, I'd have matter of factly told you that I thought your theory had no merit. None.  (I didn't use profanity either)... this wasn't a personal attack on you.. That's simply what I thought...so yes, I poked fun at you since you up front said I couldn't be "negative."  Well, sorry to offend you, but realize, you're throwing it out there in public.

If anyone wants to fire back and take me to task on my opinion, well then, that's their right isn't it?  I certainly won't tell them to only be positive.  If you disagree with me, well isn't that negative?  Should I be offended?

Is everyone else here so thin-skinned? Please let me know...I'll leave the kitchen if it's that stone cold...

Carl Majors

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 3:28 AM

Folks--all--

Please, no real antagonism meant here. Really, none. I like to challenge peoples' opinions, nothing more.  Sorry to offend, but I call it as I see it.  Yep, I was sarcastic, because I don't like being told up front to "only be positive."  That's what my employer, the military, says too BTW. . .and they don't take criticism well either.  So, please, I'm trying to have fun like everyone else. If some folks are not used to being poked at a little (I talk to my best friends 10x worse), okay, I'll dial it back...

But if you throw out something in public, you're inviting me to say what I think too...and if I think you're being silly, well, I'm gonna let you know it, okay? You do the same to me...no harm intended, but yeah, I'm hard to debate with--I'll make you do your homework.

Peace all, please.

CARL MAJORS - That was very kind and very big of you to come forward and make your intentions known. I very greatly appreciate it. As for your assessment of the situation: you are indeed correct. You didn't use anything terribly cruel in your language while making your opinion known - and, yes, you certainly do have the right to expound on a public site. I, for one, am convinced that you've a very strong character - it shows in the fact that you've come forward to address the situation and request peace. That's an exceptiaonlly difficult quality to find these days - especially on the internet. Once again, thank you, MR. Majors. :)

Wow, Mr? My brothers address me as "hey, idiot" and my wife with "Really?" LOL.

Thanks. I'll admit, I like to make people just a little uncomfortable--I was an overbearingly sensitive kid, and so now...but I'm a lover, not a fighter. LOL

I responded to your other post about what I thought about the movie BTW...

CARL MAJORS - That, my friend, is a Singularity Loop - the theoretical point within a black hole where all matter is simulatneously compressed to a single point no larger than an atom and dispersed across the black hole's surface as an infinite stream of matter "information". :)

MemberGodzillaMay-18-2014 4:39 AM
CARL MAJORS - Indeed! It's the area that Mr. Hawkins (one of my greatest heroes) predicted MIGHT exist within each singularity (black hole). Hypothetically, it means that black holes are simultaneously absorbing, changing and releasing matter throguhout the universe. A beautiful and elegant solution to the continuity of energy throughout space-time. I simply haven't yet seen enough proof to keep the theory cleanly supported. Additionally, I'm quite glad you find me to be a presence worth liking. :) Stick around - each of the regulars around here would be very happy to have someone with your intelligence to weight-in on the subjects we discuss in the objective and witty manner you evidence! :)

Carl Majors

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 4:49 AM

Yes, his research on black holes actually emitting radiation was beyond incredible...I mean, how would one even conceive such a thing?

I assume you've read the Grand Theory? It's basically quantum physics for dummies (I'm the dummy, not you). Very intriguing book.  I part with Stevo, Carl Sagan and others in that I still stubbornly believe in God, but very hard to argue with their work.  Cosmic inflation is definitely the most "Wowwwwwwwww" thing I've ever come across.

Do you ascribe to 11 dimensional spacetime? I pretty much do...I'm weak on the math though (remember, I'm a lover!)...

As for wit...well, thank you Miss...for you, any time.

Carl Majors

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 4:53 AM

Reference your earlier post about coming forward--hey, I'm wrong a lot...I've found that admitting it to others tends to disarm them and let them relax.  Given my general lack of social skills, that's big bonus!

Something Real

MemberGodzillaMay-18-2014 4:59 AM
CARL MAJORS - I believe in God in the univerals sense. One cannot look out upon that vast web of energy and not believe that there is a presence - or perhaps presenses - far greater than us. If the universe gave rise to us, it has certainly created beings far greater. The human brain is a marvelous creation, but I'm certain it is dawrfed when compared to the sheer consciousness of the universe as a whole. "We are the Universe contimplating itself" I believe Sagan stated. As for 11 dimensions of space-time: I've studied a small amount of M-Theory. I'm not entirely certain of what to think of the implications. 11 seems confortable and sustainable. However, if M-Theory is to be believed, 11 dimensions is limited. It's exceptionally interesting! :)
