MemberMothra LarvaeMay-17-2014 10:31 PMLike the title says: SPIOLERS ALERT SPOILERS!!!!!!!
So, for those of you who have seen the movie already, we all know about the eye contact between Godzilla and Ford. Now, whenever I see that look on Godzilla's face I always think of him saying:" I'm sorry, I failed you....." but another thing that cathes me is that how HUMAN his face and eyes look. He looks so sad and defeated. It makes me think how much a really cares about the human race. But for that being another topic, here's my theory:
So, we all know Joe Brody, Ford's dad, blames the MUTO's (even though he doesn't know exactly what they are yet) for his wife's death. Now keep this in mind: Godzilla has not been awaken yet, but is still asleep somewhere in the ocean. After Joe finally sees for his very eyes what this creature truly is, he is imediattly killed off, by being thrown off a metal walk way from the muto's attack.
Now, my thinking is that Joe's spirit somehow awoke Godzilla, and maybe even took over his body, Because of my previous sayings of how Godzilla looked at Ford. But some other hints to this is that When Ford blew up the eggs and the female muto was going to eat him, Godzilla charged himself up like a boss, and saved Ford with his atomic breath. And also Godzilla never hurt any of the Navy ships, well at least not on purpose anyways. lol.
look, I know this sounds far fetched, but just think about it........Please leave your thoughts! but please keep them positive. thank you!

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-17-2014 10:37 PMYou know what? That is a really good theory. I completely agree with you. I think Godzilla did care about the humans and didn't want them to get hurt. So in a way he was protecting us from the MUTOs. I think you are right. Good thought :)

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-17-2014 10:45 PMIt was clearly said by Gareth that Godzilla doesn't care about humans. The missiles and bridge are just pure coincidental.
To me, the scene where Godzilla looked into Ford's eyes made me think Godzilla was thinkng "Well would you look at that. Well I don't care about you so I'm just gonna go kill my prey, kay, thanks, bye."
Joe Brody's spirit and Godzilla's awakening would make sense if it was made by Toho but I think it would've been more implied if it happened.
"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 12:03 AM@Something Real- Dang! I didn't even think of that! Awesome theory! Even thoough I cling to my theory, your's is probaly what Gareth was looking to acheive with that scene. Thank you VERY much for that idea!

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 1:10 AMUm, Godzilla's Wrath...nice. Submit something that, at a bare minimum, is contestable if not laughable (hard to do with science fiction, but I think you've done it) and then demand everyone to be postive. Okay, I'll try...
I think there is zero percent chance that Edwards had that in mind. Maybe 0.1...no, sorry 0.0. Perhapsthere was an intention of some very basic, slight connection between the two as living creatures--probably along the most basic lines of life. Yes, it's clear Godzilla has nothing against humans, but yes, the last writer had it right--he's just indifferent. He's swimming next to ships, under ships, yes. But not because he's considerate, but just because he has a locked-on purpose which is very instinctive, and we're just in his way. (BTW, to all the MUTO lovers out there--the people who feed bears--if the MUTO are so "cute" and just innocent animals, why are their actions so much more malevolent than Godzilla's? Oh yes, because they are parasites--the closest thing nature has to malevolency).
Well this indifference--if he really were as intelligent/thoughtful/spiritual as you suppose--would make NO SENSE. Why? Wellllll they did try to NUKE HIM 60 years ago, right? Yeah, I'm guessing he'd have held that against us just a tad, don't ya think? And not because he's gone Christian on us. He's an intelligent animal with some personality--smarter than a dog, but probably not quite as smart as a dolphin or gorilla...and no, not seeing much spirit there (okay this is where the positive...part...hard...stiffling laughter...)
Okay, sorry, I disagree with you.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 1:58 AM@Carl Majors- Wow. you're cute. I'm just here to make theories ( as is everyone else here on this website) about the new movie and hope everyone here will have enough common courtesy to be positive and not be a complete tool. you really think i'm demanding it? hey, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't come here and expect people to listen to your whiny ass. I'm just here to have fun, and some limp noodle, such as yourself, isn't going to stop that. There are MULTIPLE reasons as to why Godzilla is very intelligent. one of them being: HE FREAKING TOOK THOUGHT INTO HOW TO KILL THE FEMALE, AND THOUGHT 'HEY WHY NOT BLAST THIS SHIT DOWN HER THROAT?'
oh, and if you don't like listening to people's theories and are going to shut down EVERY theory, then why don't you take a gander behind you, take a few steps, and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 2:03 AM@Something Real- Thank you for posting that! sorry about what I just put here, but i'm just SICK of people being tools who think they can go ahead and judge other peoples ideas cause they think they're better than everyone else. there are a BIG group of people in this dang age that don't have ANY common courtesy! Why can't people be more like you????

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 3:04 AMSomething Real: Oh come on...that wasn't even a bloody nose. My ONLY pointed comment was, you can't write something in public and then say "only be positive." Only appropriate? Sure. Only clean language? Got it. But if I want to laugh at it, I can...this is a public forum. I didn't denigrate him personally, and I happened to think what he said was preposterous, okay? He has a right to say what he wants, and well, so do I...and if I want to laugh at his theory, well...can't I? Lighten up folks! We're discussing a fantasy movie!

Carl Majors
MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 3:20 AMGodzilla's Wrath: chill please, guy. If you want to say something in public, then you can't up front say "don't criticize my idea." That's basically what you did. If you hadn't thrown that disclaimer in there, I'd have matter of factly told you that I thought your theory had no merit. None. (I didn't use profanity either)... this wasn't a personal attack on you.. That's simply what I thought...so yes, I poked fun at you since you up front said I couldn't be "negative." Well, sorry to offend you, but realize, you're throwing it out there in public.
If anyone wants to fire back and take me to task on my opinion, well then, that's their right isn't it? I certainly won't tell them to only be positive. If you disagree with me, well isn't that negative? Should I be offended?
Is everyone else here so thin-skinned? Please let me know...I'll leave the kitchen if it's that stone cold...

Carl Majors
MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 3:28 AMFolks--all--
Please, no real antagonism meant here. Really, none. I like to challenge peoples' opinions, nothing more. Sorry to offend, but I call it as I see it. Yep, I was sarcastic, because I don't like being told up front to "only be positive." That's what my employer, the military, says too BTW. . .and they don't take criticism well either. So, please, I'm trying to have fun like everyone else. If some folks are not used to being poked at a little (I talk to my best friends 10x worse), okay, I'll dial it back...
But if you throw out something in public, you're inviting me to say what I think too...and if I think you're being silly, well, I'm gonna let you know it, okay? You do the same to me...no harm intended, but yeah, I'm hard to debate with--I'll make you do your homework.
Peace all, please.

Thanks. I'll admit, I like to make people just a little uncomfortable--I was an overbearingly sensitive kid, and so now...but I'm a lover, not a fighter. LOL
I responded to your other post about what I thought about the movie BTW...

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 4:49 AMYes, his research on black holes actually emitting radiation was beyond incredible...I mean, how would one even conceive such a thing?
I assume you've read the Grand Theory? It's basically quantum physics for dummies (I'm the dummy, not you). Very intriguing book. I part with Stevo, Carl Sagan and others in that I still stubbornly believe in God, but very hard to argue with their work. Cosmic inflation is definitely the most "Wowwwwwwwww" thing I've ever come across.
Do you ascribe to 11 dimensional spacetime? I pretty much do...I'm weak on the math though (remember, I'm a lover!)...
As for wit...well, thank you Miss...for you, any time.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-18-2014 4:53 AMReference your earlier post about coming forward--hey, I'm wrong a lot...I've found that admitting it to others tends to disarm them and let them relax. Given my general lack of social skills, that's big bonus!
