If you were approached to do a Godzilla prequel in 2017 to Gareth's movie who else would you want to direct the movie, what actors would you give the roles to and most importantly, what would be the story for a Godzilla prequel that takes place several years before 1954 and involves Godzilla's first conflict with man?

KAGE432 - This is an incredibly compelling post! Hmm, let's see. First and foremost, I'd have James Cameron direct it - I LOVE him! I'd want some older actors to take up the roles within the film, such as Kurt Russel, Kevin Kostner, and perhaps even Laurence Fishburn. The premise would be the Tungusska Event of 1908 - when SOMETHING unknown crashed down to Earth and wiped out 830 sqaure miles of land in Russia. :)

SOMETHING REAL - Sounds interesting. What would the movie's tone be compared to Gareth's film? And would it feature any opposing monsters?

GODZILLA: ORIGINS

Direct by Edward Gareth, The movie would be what happened in 1954 and will feature many Easter eggs and secrets.

The duration will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.

It would be animated film about Godzilla millions of years ago, telling a story without dialogue as the earth changes and his species dies out. That really should be an hour long direct to video animation

KAGE432 - The tone would be one of mystery and subtle suspense. The protagonist(s) would be searching over multiple hundreds of miles leading from Russia to Japan in order to discover what has happened since the massive blast. All the while, a strange epidemic will be breaking out in a very precise line - leading directly from the Tunguska River Basin to the sea of Japan. The affliction doesn't kill, it simply causes severe, burn-like blemishes. As this begins to take place, SOMETHING begins to stir in the waters off the coast of Japan. All in all however, the punch line is the story would introduce Deathla as a being formed from whatever struck the Tunguska River Valley. The creature starts off as a microorganism - a diseas - and quickly mutates. In my vision, Deathla would be formed from the bodies of thousands of indviduals whom contracted the disease it originally was. Being highly-radioactive in nature, Deathla would be drawn to Godzilla, interested in assimilating him. :)

SOMETHING REAL - With a compelling story like that I dare say you're a woman after my own heart, artistically anyway :) You just had to use Deathla! I would love to see him manifested in that origin of yours. Its so, Dead Space/Thing ish - a true sci fi origin for an interesting monster such as that.

NPINKHAM19 - That is a very good idea you have there! I would love to see the story of Godzilla's species told in that way, and through magnificent animation no less. The Godzilla's conflict with the Muto and the near extinction of giant creatures altogether will make for a epic story indeed.

DARKCHIEF - I get the feeling we'll see the shortened part of that story early on in Gareth's film. How would you make it into a 2 hour story though?

KAGE432 - I'm very glad you like the premise of my story. Indeed, it does draw some inspiration from The Thing! Is Dead Space similar? I know it's a game, but I've not had the pleasure of playing it. :)

SOMETHING REAL - Dead Space is pretty heavy on influence from the Thing. You should play it, its a good game. The game follows engineer Isaac Clarke and his descent into madness and fear aboard a endangered allied space vessel within the bloody grip of a terrifying undead nightmare. Does that sound like its up your alley?

KAGE432 - That sounds bloody awesome! Is it survival horror? If so: YES! I love games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill! :)

SOMETHING REAL - Indeed it is, and it has many fightening moments sure to send chills down your spine and keep you on your toes. If you're a fan of horror, sci fi, and the Thing you owe it to yourself to play the Dead Space trilogy :)

On a side note: So you are a Silent Hill fan? What was your favorite installment?

KAGE432 - Hmmm. I'd have to say my favorite is a tie between the first Silent Hill and the Second. There's a TRILOGY for Dead Space?! That's beauteous! :)

SOMETHING REAL - Yep. The story follows a clear cut path and provides an epic conclusion to the main character's struggle to rid humanity of the necromorphs as they are called. It even goes on to provide a convincing explanation as to why the title is what it is in a rather clever way. If you enjoyed the Thing and the creature's base instinct to consume all life in order to become a single intelligent creature just wait until you find out the true meaning behind the Convergence event in Dead Space ;) hint, hint, play the game SR, I think you'll love it!
