MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 7:06 AMI know I talked about the CGI of the film twice now but those ones were just about (was the CG good or Bad)
This one which part out of all the Trailers did you thought the CGI looked best and in which part it looked worst.
To me Honestly I think the CG looks good not the best but it works and I feel like its there.
I think the beast part of the CG was where you see Godzillas face roaring at the Camera.
and for the least best looking is this
When I look at his head looks like an X Box 360 Graphic quallity.
Buttom line the CG is acceptable fore me I give it 78/100
But this isnt the end the CGI for sure will look better on the big Screen Theater.
cuz thats how the main trailer went for me the CGI in it looked much better when I saw it in theaters.

Yeah, I agree that the foggy bridge scene doesn't look quite polished (yet), but I'll have to say that the scene of the MUTO looking through some glass looks amazing!

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 7:15 AMAGREE I was about to put that shot as my favorite CGI shot.

Godzillasaurus
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 7:23 AMThe shots with Godzilla roaring, his feet, and his hand are all spectacular. The worst IMO is also the bridge scene; it looks like a video game

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 8:11 AMI personally think the best scene I've seen so far IS the Tsunami scene. ( I know many disagree with me!)
I think the worst CGI so far is....... hmm lemme think....
oh yeaaa... it's the "giant godzilla in the clouds of China Town" scene. it could've done a little bit better but still I think they need to revise that scene a little bit and then I'd be happy!

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 9:07 AMYeah, I agree with DannyBlazor. I think the CGI looks fluffing great! You guys are just expecting way too much.
The CGI in this film (from what we have seen) looks better than the Avengers and definitely The Amazing Spiderman 2.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 9:07 AMThe bridge shot is definitely lacking as a still, but as a moving picture, it looks pretty fluid and overall well done.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 10:05 AMOne thing to keep in mind cgi almost never looks good or quite right when it's seen in a static image i.e. photo or screenshot. The only images I saw that I felt didn't look as good to me was the tsunami scene where we see the water coming towards the camera with the people fleeing from it. But when I saw the trailer in IMAX 3D it looked one helluva lot better. This movie will pop in IMAX 3D trust me on that. Those of you that have seen the trailer in that format definitely know I'm not kidding about that.

yeah, I saw the trailer in IMAX for the fist time at the midnight Cap2 showing. I looks amazing, night and day difference. (The audience agreed as the trailer was followed by much whooping, hollering, clapping, and a distinctive f--k yeah!)

Well, that you just might have confirmed my worst fears- a noisy audience at the theater. Man, I really hope people don't do that when I'm watching the movie.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 11:40 AMAnyway, I can't believe people think the CGI doesn't look very good! It looks SPECTACULAR!!!

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 12:52 PMI pretty much agree with what the last few people above have said. There hasn't been anything that I've seen so far that made me say, "That looks terrible". The tsunami part where it's rising on the beach towards the dog looks a little "eh" to me but the parts where it's interacting with all the palm trees, people, and cars looks awesome.
My favorite CGI moment is probably when the doors close and Godzillas standing in front roaring. I take that back, pretty much anything with Godzilla is my favorite ;)

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-11-2014 1:28 PMI'm surprised no one has mentioned my choice for worst CGI. It is a shot only in the main trailer. It is a beach point of view looking out into the sea, bright day time, with the voice over saying "The nuclear tests on the Pacifique.. Not test." You see Godzilla rise from the ocean. It was just egregiously bad. Like, 90s standards. It does NOT match the caliber of the rest of the movie's effects, which seem to be on an entirely different level from the shot mentioned.
Best shot: the final shot of Godzilla roaring in the Main trailer. It's super underrated. There are ripples in the air right in front of his mouth from the sound waves or something! I don't know anything about the physics of sound, but all I know is that it looks LOUD.
