MemberMothra LarvaeApr-02-2014 12:00 AMSo I just got done reading a book by the name of "Island 731" and after reading the book, one word was stuck in my mind, "Chimera". Now for those of you who dont know what a Chimera is, I'll put a link in the description, read the following after you have read the link below. So back on point, there is a reason I braught up the Chimera, and that reason is the Muto's and to the same extent Godzilla, now I'm ganna make a gut speculation and it's going to sound really out there.
The Muto's are Chimera, now let me explain my idea before you start tearing this thread to shreads.
Ok so we have the Janjira event, which is most likely caused by Godzilla, now some how, some way, Godzilla's genetic code ends up in the hands of the U.S. government/military. Now we know that the Janjira event was caused in 1999, and back in 1999 guess what was in full swing in the science community and had the attention of the U.S. government/military, genetic engineering and modifocation, now picture the U.S. govenment/military with the genetic code of Godzilla, and the wish to either make an unstoppable biological weapon, or a defence against Godzilla.
And with those goals in mind the U.S. govenment/military creates the shadow project/orginization named "M.U.T.O", their genetic experiments lead to the Chimera named "Hokmuto", and the new Chimera is a genetic mix of bat, horse, some unidentified species, and last but not least Godzilla.
So I guess I'm trying to say the Muto's are Godzilla like Chimera, probably could have just said that.............huuuuu...........oh well.

EDIT: Hey guys sorry about the confusion I put this up when I'd been awake for nearly 30 hours straight and realised how non-senseical this was when I woke up and just read it. my basic point in this was to say that when you look at the Muto's and Godzilla they are like Chimera, Godzilla looks like a T.rex and stegasouras/ spinosouras Chimera, where the Hokmuto looks like a bat, horse, insect, and maby even bird Chimera.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-02-2014 5:41 AMThe description on one of the toys implies that the Mutos have been around at least as long as Godzilla has, so they may not have been created by humans. But there are also vague hints that they were at least genetically modified by humans afterward.

Everything we've learned about both Godzilla and the Muto's both from Gareth Edwards directly in his interviews and other information leaks from Legendary says that they're both ancient creatures that have been here for a very long time.
It's an interesting theory, and maybe you could use it in a fanfic, but there is documented information and interviews with Gareth Edwards that confirm that both Godzilla and the Muto's have been around for a very long time. This theory of yours cannot be true for this movie with this information in hand. But again, it was an interesting theory that might make a good fanfic.
