We'll if he died I think the respecful way would be to have him be blown up with a nuke with soft playing theme music

I don't know why every one thinks he'll die by a nuke, I mean the intial blast COULD kill him, but he was created from radiation and if they made G the way he was with toho, he feeds on energy.
So nuke radiation = more energy for G, And I mean come on, his trademark is the atomic breath.

This movie is a rebirth/reboot

Not a remake, Not sure why you guys think he will die when they plan on making more movies

this is for the end of the series jordan. im guessing it will be a trilogy

Linkman89

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-30-2014 7:42 PM

Even if it's a trilogy it doesn't mean that he will die at the end.  Most superhero movies go in trilogies and the heroes don't die.  Godzilla (spoiler alert for Final Wars) didn't die at the end of Final Wars.  Even if he supposedly died I can't see him going away for good in that storyline.

In all honesty, though, his "reactor melting down" like in Destroyah seemed the most plausible.

Meltdown/oxygen destroyer, anything else would not be cool.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-30-2014 7:47 PM

i guess your right. perhaps an ending like in godzilla 1985 where he is presumed dead but everyone is unsure

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-30-2014 7:50 PM

I think if it's going to be a trilogy for in the second one to have Godzilla and a his son like in Godzilla Vs Destroyah and have Godzilla fight King Ghidorah and Gigan and at the end, after defeating his enemies, have Godzilla die by the oxygen destroyer so in the third movie the small Godzilla can be full grown; the government can build Kiryu out of the first Godzilla's bones; have Destroyah spawn from the Oxygen Destroyer; and have a scientist get a hold of Godzilla's DNA and accidentally create Biollante. I think that would be really cool.

You know how many times they said Godzilla was done with? LOL

I just came up with a idea of how he could die which is based largely on the assumption that this Godzilla will be similar to the Heisei version in that his stomach has mutated into a "Plasma Gland" that produces nuclear energy rather than digesting food, and he is capable of releasing a massive surge of this energy through his mouth as a weapon. Now, I'm guessing that Godzilla's enemy in the final movie will be something along the lines of Hedorah or Destoroyah, an aggregate monster much more powerful than him that is capable of dissolving organic matter through contact or by breaking up into a swarm in the water and threatens to end life on Earth if it manages to get into the open ocean and multply out of control. In Godzilla's first fight with this monster, it would deliver a nasty wound that actually cuts open is stomach, and, of course, when he tries to use his Atomic Breath, the energy bursts out of the hole in hole in his stomach, similarly to what happened to GMK Godzilla, except that this one is smart enough to not try to use it again. Then, in their final battle, the monster will either flee or be knocked into the water and Godzilla will see it dissapear and be replaced by a rapidly spreading "cloud" of microorganisms (similar to a red tide) that dissolves every living thing in its path , which causes him to realize that this monster is a threat to all life, everywhere. Godzilla jumps into the water and allows it to start killing him in a scene reminiscent of the original's death by the Oxygen Destroyer, and then uses his atomic breath, causing all of the energy to erupt from his rapidly dissolving stomach in a massive nuclear explosion that destroys him and all of the microorganisms, sacrificing himself to save the Earth. However, like GMK, there could be a scene after the credits that shows his heart, or head, or leg, or maybe even just a few cells on the ocean floor, starting to regenerate, showing that he truly is unstoppable. Now, I know someone is going to say that an ending where Godzilla saves the world would go against the whole idea of him being a force of nature that "punishes" mankind for nuclear testing or otherwise ruining the environment, but remember that Godzilla would be saving nature, not mankind, and also that he would take out quite a few humans with him with that nuclear explosion :P

I agree with Petedj06. A nuke won't work, even a volcano won't work except for the oxygen destroyer or a meltdown.

I doubt they will kill him but if they do I will be a bit mad.

godzillafan1995

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-31-2014 5:40 AM

why would you want him to die, more importantly why on earth would they use the GvsD plot/ending that would bethe stupidist thing to do, why does everyone think they willl use destoryah at somepoint, i'd rather see a homage of megalon than anything linkedto destoryah, the heisei series maybe the best but thats mostly because of godzilla not the monsters, also this is a movie for a those who haven't taken godzilla seriously and for a new generation, this is not a movie made for fans.

Durp004

MemberBaragonJan-31-2014 6:08 AM

To say a movie is not made for the fans is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Sure it can also encourage other people to get into the series, but at heart it's trying, as Edwards has said multiple times, to stay true to the source material and not upset the fans.

As for how he would die, I'd like the final movie to have him just fighting an unstoppable Kaiju that seems impossible to beat, then after Godzilla finally beats the monster but is gravely wounded. Humans use this chance and attack the weakened monster with everything they have as the final scene is Godzilla making a last stand against the humans he's been fighting so long.

godzillafan1995

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-31-2014 6:33 AM

also even a general will be pissed if he dies even in sequels  this movie might have. the only way for godzilla to have a good honourable death that is good is to have a son, but that sounds cheesy and audiences may get confused with a godzilla jr bein his biological son and think g is female like in 1998.

godzillafan1995

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-31-2014 6:55 AM

so durp you want godzilla weakened and attacked by humans, the one thing that shouldn't be able to defeat him, the theme of this new movie is that godzilla is something humaity cannot defeat as it is their mistake to have him in a ;last stand with humanity, that may sound good but that still ruins what godzilla represents, a force of nature that humanity is responsible for, if humanity has even one chance of defeating him, they will not learn as a whole.

als i wasnt specifically saying that this isn't a fans movie in that way, i was saying in a way where it is not going to be any of the previous godzilla movies except for a similar theme to gojira but it maybe different to that. also i meant in the fact that there will be no toho monsters and that would be pretty stupid to do, orginal monsters are a better option.

Durp004

MemberBaragonJan-31-2014 7:31 AM

Yes humans should ultimately be the ones to stop him. He may represent a mistake in the first one but as the series progresses, which it hopefully will, would the characters and society as a whole not learn from that mistake? The ultimate way to rectify that mistake is for the humans to be the ones to conquer him.

@LinkZilla That would be an instant box office success for the 3rd Godzilla movie's ending. That idea would be perfect.

"By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will! Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people."

well the oxygen destroyer is scientificaly imposible so we can exactly use that. and godzillafan1995 nobody said we want godzilla to die. this all hypothetical. we have no idea if he dies. i just wanted to see what ideas the community would have to respectfully kill him if garreth decided to go that route in the future

@DINOBOY22 alright, im sorry, i got a bit over the top and aggresive, its just  the fact that people suggest what will kill him from nukes to destoryah, sorry guys if i was a bit mean.

its okay dude. i dont think destroyah will be in any of the new movies anyway. id rather have something more iconic

@ JORDANSWICKARD - A nuclear blast would kill Godzilla plain and simple. He feeds on radiation, but what you're forgetting is that as a mortal creature his body has limits to the amount of power it can absorb safely before it overwhelms him and kills him.

A nuclear blast would kill him regardless of whether or not he feeds on radiation. As I've said so many times before, radiation doesn't just do what you want it to. A blast as powerful as a nuclear bomb would overload even his capacity and kill him on the spot even if the initial blast didn't.

Why?

Was Godzilla at ground zero during the dropping of the nukes? No, he wasn't. He was exposed to minute fractions of the overall radiation output of the nuke, and thus he was created from a much weaker level than many people give him credit for. As such, his capacity will be much lower than many people give him credit for which is why when Godzilla moves about you don't hear about long lasting radiation levels in any movie aside from the original and Godzilla vs. Mothra. His radiation levels are not at a level which would immediately kill anyone, as proven by the fact that Dr. Yamane and others were able to walk through Godzilla's footsteps and survive just fine through to the end of the movie without any visible consequence.

The amount of radiation a nuke puts out, especially at ground zero, would be far too much for Godzilla's body to handle.

Long story short, it would kill him. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. Even taking in his ability to absorb radiation, it wouldn't save him. A nuke does not equal more energy for Godzilla. It equals death.

@ LINKZILLA - I don't mean to sound aggressive or mean in any way, but... Are you kidding with that explanation? Godzilla's body is not a nuclear bomb. Even if Godzilla were to go out with a bang, it wouldn't equal the force of a nuclear explosion for the same reasons why he wouldn't survive a nuke in the first place. He was created by radiation levels that were MUCH lower than the levels a nuke is actually capable of producing initially. The power of a nuclear bomb goes far beyond Godzilla, and even if his body were to explode for any reason, it would not be a nuclear blast. Not even close.

As for the actual topic at hand.

If Godzilla does die anywhere in the series, it's not going to be from an oxygen destroyer because that's pure fantasy and doesn't fit the realism of Legendary's vision. It likely won't be at the hands of a nuke either, as the world's governments are too cowardly to use them now that they know what they can do after dropping them on Japan. You think the US government, even if it's a movie, would have the gall to drop one on their own soil just to try and take care of Godzilla when they don't know if it would work or not? Not a chance.

If Godzilla does die, it'll have to be at the hands of either another monster or by his own power turning against him like it did in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.

Godzilla is being portrayed and likened to a force of nature. He is not actually a force of nature, contrary to popular opinion. Anyone who's arguing that he needs to be stopped by another force of nature because 'he is a force of nature' is only fooling themselves and basing their opinion off of misinterpretation and miscommunication which are the two primary sources of all the false rumors and predictions we've seen throughout the last few years leading up to the release of this movie (and any kind of rumor anywhere about anything really).

In short the most likely reasons for Godzill'a death will be the forces which created him in the first place: Radiation.

Radiation is a force which is naturally degrading into nothing over a very long period of time due to the fact that it's unstable. It cannot sustain itself, and if an unstable force like radiation is the source of Godzilla's power, guess what that means for the Big-G? Godzilla vs. Destoroyah went a little overboard and delved into fantasy with the critical mass thing, but they had the basic concept correct. Godzilla's own power will inevitably be his downfall eventually if nothing else destroys him first.

You know, if a black hole gun can't kill him what makes you think a nuke would? If it could why didn't they already try it? Sure America may change that, but until I see it, I stand corrected

yea radiation can do what ever it wants, but godzilla is completly fictional, the writers can do what ever they want with him, godzilla can never exist, they can make some features realistic because it may make it better but too much realism is not necessary, i dought they will kill him with a nuke, also one nuke's radiation is not going to cause godzilla to go critical, in GvsD the island that godzilla and godzilla jr were on had uranium depsoits under the island, there must have been a lot as the entire island was destoryed proably more than the power of modern nukes as godzilla did survive. again scientific logic does not work with godzilla, no matter how realistic you want him, he is pure fiction, TOHO knew this thats why they had humans use ultra -futreistic and totally impossible weapons weaponry like: the oxygen destoryer, mechagodzilla, masers and laser tanks, freezer weapons, nuclear feeding bacteria, and the blackhole gun. the black hole from the dimension tide may not have been as powerful as a real black hole but it was powerful enough to cause a nuke sized crater. also that meteor explosion from FW did hit godzilla because 1. godzilla was in the centre of a huge crater, even if he wasn't in the actaul explosion it was a big explosion and the didn't get affected by the shockwave.

My personal opinion, Godzilla's meltdown is probably his most disrespectful death. Its lonesome, its boring, and its just sappy.

I don't understand the love of seeing Godzilla go all wicked witch.

I'd much rather see him explode-- but that is just me.

And as far as Godzilla dieing, he never dies anyway, so why does it matter? He always comes back or theres some kind of hint at the end of the film that he isn't the 'only one'. So I really don't think its an issue.

As far as Godzilla survivng a nuke, if we are talking Godzilla in general, he has survived an asteroid strike, swam through magma, and so on and so forth.

Godzilla's death has always been superficial, or done away with in sequels. Its not anything to worry about, I can honestly say the first film was the only time I think they really, genuinely wanted him dead-- until the cash flowed in and they made a sequel.

So in the end, the all mighty dollar is the ultimate Godzilla fuel and it'll decide if he 'dies' or not.

He is 350ft Tall people, those things on his neck ARE gills, and the Brazil photo is part of the final advertising design-- Deal with it.

godzillafan1995

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-31-2014 4:12 PM

symbolically in GvsD godzilla never dies, because if one godzilla does die anouther takes it's place, when 1954 godzilla dies he was replaced (although 30 years later in the Heisei godzilla's case) by a new godzilla, when heisei godzilla died in his meltdown he was replaced by his son, who was revived by the 'enormous' radiation emmited by his farther and was able to continue his legacy. if godzilla does die then it should end 1. humanity finally learns their mistakes and lessons and improve the way they treat the earth to avoid creating more monstrocities or 2. godzilla died but anouther godzilla comes along to contnue his legacy and continue punishing humanity.

again really the writers, producers and directors make the decide, they decide if godzilla can or cannot survive a nuke(ground zero explosion or outside the explosion) they decide if humans have any capability to comabt godzilla, they decide if godzilla can go critical if he absorbs too much nuclear energy, they decide if he can even bleed. thats the power writers, producers and directors have when it comes to completly fictional chacters like godzilla, spideman, the xmen, hulk and other fictional charcters.
