I'm confused, according to that the trailer's coming out 12/3

but it's already almost 9 pm on the Eastern timezone soooooo, am I misinterpreting this or what?

No it's comes out western coast time since warner bros is in California.

The date is the day the Canadian motion picture represenatives gave it a proper rating classification. It simply means the trailer is done and ready for distribution in front of upcoming movies. I'd expect the trailer in the next two weeks or so. There's a pretty good chance they might release it online before The Hobbit, ala X-Men, Spider-Man and Captain America.
