What will be the 2014 Godzilla's Gender?

True American Godzilla

However Gojira had a son (who is seen in later films growing up under the guidance of Gojira). To have a child if you're supposed to be the only 1 of your kind I see one of two possibilities...
1: The same type thing happened again and another Gojira was mutated/created only this time it was an egg that was mutated instead of a fully grown Gojirasaurus.
2: An unseen female Godzilla had a baby, but is strangely not raising the child.
I ask this because I'm thinking back to the comment Edwards said about his 2014 Godzilla, it will have realism in it. Indications are that he's using the original 54 film as a point of reference in making the 2014 version.
I distinctly remember in the 54 film that people warned more Gojiras would be created if Nukes continued to be used, thus answering how a kid Gojira could be born in the absence of a female Gojira.
However, how will this be answered in the 2014 film? Assuming the film is popular, a child of Godzilla would eventually be expected (at least by those who watched Japanese Gojira films growing up). Here's my take on it.
Theory 1: We could have only 1 guy Godzilla and, thanks to continued use of Nuclear Power Plants, have another Godzilla created that would need someone to raise it.
Theory 2: The 'lone Godzilla' could be a female and use Parthenogenesis (a form of asexual reproduction seen in all but mammals; essentially the kid is a full clone of the mother) to have a child Godzilla. Now I'm not talking of using the 1998 Zilla of 200 human sized kids. More like the elephant approach, 1 really large and energetic kid.
As far as realism goes, both theories hold enough water to be used in the movie. Both would generate panic in the world and the desire to "Destroy All Monsters". So either gender could be made to work and still capture what the original Toho films made. What's your take on it?
