In terms of thinking for the future, maybe we can get a permanent Godzilla Encounter like theme park ride at Universal Studios. But I'm mostly hoping for a trailer.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 9:11 AM LEGENDARY's contract was up and it was they're dicision to split, for the reason LEGENDARY wanted more creative control over they're movie's,GODZILLA2014 is still under WB as far as i know;i wonder how this will affect any future DC movies.

hang in there man we will get our badass godzilla movie on time you dont have to worry with that and i believe that LEGENDARY will of course do the right thing and release a full length trailer by december all the way through may or it could start the beginning of next year i dont think that they will set back the date on this film because 2014 celebrates 60 years for the big g

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 5:39 PMBut that's the question BIGBADBEN....we don't know if Legendary will remain in control of the Godzilla at all...WB may remain in control...has me on edge to GFAN 84....for more reasons than just the movie itself...but where the franchise will stand....pulling for Legendary for obvious reasons..

AdminSpaceGodzillaAug-13-2013 6:57 PMFrom my understanding, after reading the leaked documents highlighting this legal debacle, it sounds like Warner Bros. is still on board to be a distributor for Godzilla, and Universal won't play any part in it. Now, depending on if Legendary owns the temp rights to the franchise, they might carry it on over to Universal, but as it stands, no plans for that have been announced.
Also from what I know, Legendary is the main force driving Godzilla, WB is fronting about 25% of the budget. Don't quote me on that, but it's around 20% - 25%. However, WB still has a say in how things like the marketing plays out. So, let's hope the two studios can get along and release the trailers soon... but it must by a tad awkward working with a company you've already said you're leaving. Will this not ignite much interest and extra help from WB leaving Godzilla to face a lazy marketing campaign? Or will they still pull through and knock this one out of the park? Of course I'm hoping for a home run, but only time will tell.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 7:11 PMWell, if that's the case, and WB remains in control,...then it's all over monster fans....Universal is known for it's monsters ,...WB for it's cartoons....bad match in my mind.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 7:24 PMIf Universal gets rights to Godzilla, couldn't that mean a Godzilla vs. King Kong? King Kong is owned by Universal, right? Sorry if I'm wrong.

MiketheG7453
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 8:15 PMYes...Kong is Universal...but the reason Legendary sais they wanted to leave WB is because they wanted to branch out beyond just movies...such as the interactive experience....while WB said they are not interested in that.....so, it would seem if it's Legendary and Universal, then skies the limit.....imagine driving to some theme park with a 400 foot tall statue of Godzilla right in the middle of it,...the potential is incredible,...or on the other hand,.if it's WB...it could get sat on four a number of years like TriStar did and......nothing.......

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2013 11:20 PMWe probably wont see any promo for GODZILLA till febuary;but what im wondering is will LEGENDARY's emblem still be on the promo's or the trailer when we get one??? or is wb gonna try to take all the cred.

AdminGodzillaAug-14-2013 8:12 PMLegendary and Warner Bros. will still be the ones releasing Godzilla. So yes, you will still see their logos in the trailer. Universal has nothing to do with it. Warner Brothers is still under contract to release the rest of Legendary's movies under their partnership, which are: Godzilla, 300: Rise of An Empire, Seventh Son and Cyber.
Just because Legendary has partnered with Universal, doesn't mean it nullifies their contract for movies they made with Warner Brothers.
Warner Brothers also does not hold the rights to Godzilla. Legendary will be taking the rights to Universal if a sequel is ever made.
