Entirely new monsters in this movie

There will be no Mothra, Anguirus, or even King Ghidorah. All of the sources about old Toho monsters appearing in this upcoming Godzilla movie are baseless rumors.

Agreed. Isn't the fun of a Godzilla movie seeing a new monster? To support your belief, the fear of atomic corruption has given way to genetic modification of the natural order. The common theme is destruction by our own hand. Godzilla will play the antihero roll. He will be no friend of mankind, but WILL be the only thing that can stop the genetic monsters we created. It's smart.

I would rage if I went to the movie theater on the night of May 16 of next year and Godzilla's "surprise opponent" was something like Mothra. I don't care how many fans want her in the movie so bad, we've seen her enough and it is time for something new!

I just hope that the new monsters have...well...how do I put it.... powers? Is that the correct term? Kind of like Godzilla's Atomic Ray or his Nuclear Pulse. Not exactly the same, but something that resembles the new monsters.

But anyways I completely agree! I think that new monsters will be a good change and a fresh start to the new series. Kind of just like how they did in Godzilla 2000. No one was ever expecting for the monster to be new but it ended up being a good decision and gave audiences a fresh taste of the new installment in the series...

I agree. But maybe the new monsters also do make smaller refferences, like one of them have a clubbed tail like anguirus, or maybe reuses an old roar. Just a thought.

^Interesting idea about there being a reused roar, but I would like to know why everyone wants even the smallest essence of an old monster to be in this movie. I am all for a completely new monster that is unique, powerful, and has its own roar. I can't see a giant crocodile or something having Rodan's screech.

Let's let the new monsters be something new and not seen before, like Pacific Rim's kaiju were original with their looks and abilities.
Genetic tampering was done with Godzilla vs. Biollante in 1989.
