A heaping load of green backs for sure.. 300 million to do it right. I believe they will triple that and then some.. with the kind of monster mayhem necessary. The way i see it.. if TOHO can make miniature sets that for the time.. were pretty good.. then hollywood should be able to do better... and money well spent.. will bring bring in good profits and the key will be mass marketing with a lot of teasers ahead of time.. and let's hope.. a more stimulating story line.. and less boring actors (Ford). Heck.. there was more monster action in Pacific Rim than in Edwards version of G. And Kong got way more screen time than G 14. G - K.O.T.M.. ought to be a big budget 3 hour film.. with over an hour and a half of that being monsters on parade. IMO.
That's a good question. I'm pretty sure we can rule out Skull Island--I also doubt we'll really get an answer to this question.
But for the sake of speculation, the different shades to each painting/rock makes it seem like they were in different caves, but that seems highly convenient that there were many caves each with a painting of a monster. It was probably the same place, just in different chambers.
I know Gorizard on Facebook as well. I've watched him slowly re-up everything.
If He Could Survive So Long Without Oxygen, What About The Oxygen Destroyer, Well.. I Guess The Corroding Is A Bit Self Explanitory.
Wow Think About This Conversation And How Much Of Nerds We Are, I Love It.
For me, I would love to see Gigan make an appearance in the Monsterverse. He's always been one of my favorites and I think with the level of technology we have now, an updated, Hollywood version would look absolutely badass.
I'm betting that many years ago, Ghidorah rose up/came to Earth, and Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan battled him - explaining why they were on the cave walls. Eventually, Godzilla defeated Ghidorah (as shown by the paintings), and the dragon retreated. Then the three returned monsters returned to their slumbers. But in 2019, Ghidorah returns, so that triggers the three to come back.
Think like the IT movie. The kids defeated the clown, but when he returned they came back to defeat him. Just imagine that but the kids are Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra and the clown is Ghidorah.
I think it is both. I think Godzilla and Ghidorah met in the past. They fought, Godzilla won, Ghidorah retreated back into space and is planning on returning when he thinks he can win.
Given how our ancestors likely worked on a cognitive level, Godzilla and King Ghidorah most likely did tussle in the past, and happened to be observed by these ancient humans.
How ancient, who knows? It's possible that Godzilla only surfaced at that point in history specifically because an invader and threat to Earth's balance showed up.
And yes, I AM going with the idea that King Ghidorah came from space.
Think I'll be a complete fanboy when I say this but, the Shobijin did the cave painting? Think about it...Godzilla vs. Mothra 92 saw cave paintings of a battle between Mothra and battra, and Godzilla final wars 2004 we saw cave paintings of a battle between Mothra and gigan.
All seem to point to a previous battle or even a prophecy battle. Right now, it's in the air.
Realistically, giant monsters don't and can't exist. Literally any relatively-well-versed giant monster fan knows this.
That's not what Legendary is doing with the Monsterverse. They're taking a "grounded" approach, trying to figure what kinds of roles in the global ecology giant monsters would play, like real-life animals. Godzilla is an apex predator, top of the food chain, whom deals with competition such as Shinomuras and M.U.T.O. parasites.
Basically, figure out a grounded design for an animal on Earth that would benefit it as a competing organism in the global ecology. For example, Anguirus is a logical design, a large and heavily armored quadruped that is suited for burrowing and slow, rhythmic "dance-like" combat.
Honestly, out of the current Monsterverse, only creatures like Shinomura and King Ghidorah are a bit out there.
Initially, my assumption was some form of prophecy. Nothing mystical, but perhaps an older form of man had knowledge of both beasts and assumed if they crossed paths the death toll might be apocalyptic. Hence all the skulls, falling bodies and flames below them.
But, the more I think about it the more I like the idea that they've crossed paths before. It already establishes them as enemies and King Ghidorah needs to come off as a grand arch-nemesis for Godzilla.
^ Oh, Omni Viewer! I love his channel!
But I was thinking, since Legendary also wants to add new monsters, and Titanosaurus is not that popular, I made a new monster based off of him called the Leviathan. He's very similar, expect he's more slender and is quadrupedal.
Another fantastic chapter! Out of curiosity, how many chapters will this story consist of?
Has Hollywood got nothing on it's pea-brain polemicist conscience other than politically motivated ethnicity. Don't they realize that there are plenty of other ethnicities out there, especially for a stereo-typical Japanese icon.
This is one I won't bother to change channels for.
When I watched Godzilla 2000
Love the Titanosaurus idea. There's someone in YouTube who thought that it might be Cthulhu, but it would be too far fetched
Got to agree with Mr.Edgy Name here. I want a kaiju movie with a psychological elements. We can see the realistic impacts of a kaiju attack, such as social and cultural shock. And it happens in a universe where kaiju movies and franchises exist.Imagine what will happen to society when things that seem to be just nonsense suddenly materialize unsuspectingly in the "real" world, causing deaths and ruinations, crashing your dream, your homes, your future, your families, etc.
Wow. Good one. I too will stick with existing movies. I have several that might fall into that category for me.
Giant monsters laying waste to your ‘hood should be scary. In that respect, The Host and Cloverfield really fit the bill.
The Host is just a terrifying movie all around, and I’ve amazingly only seen it once and don’t currently own it. I need to rectify that! A must see for all monster/kaiju fans. Incredibly well done.
As for Cloverfield, although I’m not a huge fan of “found footage, hand-held” movies, it works here, and the movie does a fantastic job of showing the panic, terror and real-world feel that a giant monster laying waste to a city would have, first hand. I love this movie, and the parasites that fall off the main creature are terrifying in their own right for different reasons.
The original King Kong is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s the first big spectacle fantasy adventure story, and laid the groundwork for everything to follow. It probably inspired more people to spread their creative wings in a variety of fields than just about any other film. When a little movie called Jurassic Park came along in ’93, some 60 years later, my first thought after seeing the T Rex was, “I want to see King Kong fight that!” Twelve years later I got my wish and I’ve been in love with the ’05 Kong ever since.
Pacific Rim is one of my favorite giant monster movies, period. It would probably be in my top 5, and most certainly top 10. I love the story, I love the characters. I sympathize with and like all of them. Each has his/her own emotional angle that they are bringing to the story, but obviously with one common goal – to cancel the apocalypse. It’s one of the more complete and entertaining monster movies I’ve ever seen. It has plenty of cool and creative monster/Jaeger action, characters that I like, and some humor peppered in at the right times; just a hell of a fun movie.
As for Godzilla movies, the last great one for this fan is Mothra Vs Godzilla (64). For me it’s the most complete (and nearly perfect) Godzilla movie. It’s the last time, certainly during Showa, that Godzilla was a relentless radioactive, city destroying harbinger. There are no talking monsters, no dancing and no boulder tossing volley ball going on here. You have the dichotomy of this unstoppable force that military might and ingenuity have no effect against contrasted with what appears to be a delicate benign insect deity and her equally benign looking offspring stopping said force with a “soft hand”! There’s something so Bruce Lee about that! There are so many iconic Godzilla moments/scenes in this movie. When I think of Godzilla, the picture I see is of him plodding through that oil refinery/complex. The ’54 original for me will never be touched, but this is right there. This is a Godzilla movie I could watch regularly and never tire of. I would love to get a Blu-Ray version, but with the American frontier missile scene inserted.
My ideal kaiju movie can pretty much already be found in Gamera 3: The Revenge of Iris--In that it includes what is most important to me about the genre:
- Traditional tokusatsu special effects, using CG as a tool and not the main event. I want suits, miniatures and a blend with CG to merely add to the toolbox.
- Extremely strong, interesting characters bringing about ideas and issues that continue to be poked and prodded.
- Characters with a strong parallel and connection to the kaiju, assuring both humans and monsters are treated with a fair share of development.
- High stakes and personal stakes with characters center to the kaiju action and not merely observing from afar.
I rarely get all of this in one bundle, but Gamera 3 delivers it in spades. It commits to the genre in a way I've not seen any movie do since it was released. I'm still waiting for a kaiju film to hit the bar this film set in 1999.
I'm honestly not expecting to ever get a kaiju movie like this one again--Either from Hollywood or Japan...
I want a movie that shows how a kaiju attack can be traumatizing and terrifying.
Imagine people being crushed to death. Buildings collapsing with children inside.
The creature could also grab people with it's tentacles and eat them on the spot.
I want a kaiju horror movie!
And yes, I know I'm insane :p
GodzillaMandoKing,
To answer your question, it's all music by Akira Ifukube:
0:00-3:22 - Godzilla's Theme from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.
3:25-6:07 - Main Theme from The Mysterians.
6:09-10:18 - I don't recall the exact track name, but variations of this theme is used in both Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster and Destroy All Monsters--Probably others I'm overlooking as well.
10:19-11:50 - Main Theme from Destroy All Monsters.
11:51-14:14 - Supersonic Pursuit/Get Rodan! from Rodan.
11:15-17:19 - Main Theme from Invasion of Astro-Monster. (Monster Zero)
17:20-20:07 - G-Force March from Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II.
Pretty cool. I really liked the scenes at the end.
What music is used in the video?
Sweet. Thanks for sharing with us.
@Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Didn't want to sound like a douche lol.
I hope you didn't take it the wrong way Dragon.
I'm glad some of these didn't make it into the final film. They look way to goofy.
*Edited this topic a bit just to insert the youtube video,If you don't mind.
