I'd say that it's fine to have a wishlist, but it's also a good idea to make a realistic one as well, taking into account things like marketability, advertising, story direction, and the general themes and setting ideas of the Monsterverse as is.
For example, whilst plenty of people would want picks like Gigan or Mecha-Godzilla, currently, both monsters, while popular from a marketing standpoint, don't currently fit the general themes and setting of the Monsterverse.
A realistic pick would be introducing Anguirus soon, perhaps after the next two installments, as he's relatively popular and is a good fit for the current themes and setting of the Monsterverse.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters,
No worries. I'm sure whatever search you got it from assumed it was the RadoGoji simply because the seen is from Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II. But it was the BatoGoji suit that was used for the battle against Rodan--Save for one or two shots.
I understand I want them too be good too ! But if you could choose what they made what would you want ?
I kinda have to agree with Gman now. At first I liked this design but after all I've heard about the director of this anime I was expecting something more over the top and creative.
^ I honestly think he will be freaking massive. Probably gonna be the biggest Godzilla to date. You know how anime is - they like their OP characters.
Given that it's confirmed that MonsterPlanetGoji(?) is the tallest non-Marvel Godzilla to date, how tall are we predicting? JUST edging out ShinGoji's 118.5 meters, or are we going BEYOND Marvel Godzilla, clocking out beyond 150 meters?
1. Legendary Godzilla
2. GMK Godzilla
3. Shin Godzilla
4. Godzilla 1954
5. Final Wars Godzilla
Well, I'm glad to see they used my favorite Godzilla design (or at least something close to it) for this.
I'm gonna go by movie date because I never bothered to learn all the "XGoji" names, just too many to retain to memory.
1. 1989 (vs Biollante)
2. 1968 (DAM)
3. 1962 (Kong vs.)
4. G-2000 Millennium
5. 1973 (Megalon)
If only I had my crystal ball.
Welcome to the forum by the way.
P.S. Godzilla: The King of the Monsters,
You have a pic of the BatoGoji for the RadoGoji.
I think I can probably list this out. Though if we're talking strictly suits, doesn't that eliminate 2014 and 2016? Either way they wouldn't be in my top 5.
In any case:
1) GhidoGoji (1991)
2) MekaGyakushuGoji (1975)
3) SokogekiGoji (2001)
4) KingGoji (1962)
5) MosuGoji (1964)
The top three seem to maintain their placement in my head--Particularly the first two. The last two are debatable. They could potentially change depending on the day or week, but lately I've come to love those early Showa designs a lot.
I've only got a top five.
5. KiryuGoji
4. MosuGoji
3. LegendaryGoji
2. ShinGoji
1. BioGoji
Ten seems a bit much I'll just list a top 5
1. Bio/ghidogoji
2. Miregoji
3. Kinggoji
4. Shodaigoji
5. Desugoji
I think it's a possibility Imperial96. With this being Godzilla's first anime there may be a chance of Tamashii Nations making an S.H. MonsterArts figure.
I'm totally fine with it being close to Legendary's Godzilla. It's one of my favorite designs for Godzilla anyways.
I don't care exactly what films they do, I just want them to be good. If they address some important social issue, or at least promote science instead of military might, I will be happy.
Think we might get a S.H. Monsterarts figure of this?
AMAZING, i can't wait for King Kong 2.0, haha!
I think it's too close to Legendary's Godzilla, but it has some potential to be a little more unique as we get more details such as height, abilities, and color.
not too shabby.. very muscular. need more details on the over all look.
I kind of wanted Polygon to go all out and create a unique and exaggerated Godzilla design, taking full advantage of what the animated medium has to offer. But I'm not too disappointed with the Legendary-esque design, since I really like that design and feel it is a very solid representation of Godzilla. It looks old and majestic, which is fitting for this incarnation of Godzilla given he has been ruling over Earth for 20,000 years. Hopefully the actual design has some unique traits that make it more than just an animated LegendaryGoji.
And for the record, it has been confirmed that this will (again) be the largest incarnation of Godzilla to date, standing taller than Shin Godzilla.
Mothra vs Godzilla is boring and no good. This makes me sad because Mothra is one of my favorite.
Invasion of Astro Monster is a great film except for that horrible dance.
Godzilla vs. Hedorah is a top 5 Godzilla film.
Godzilla 2014 is in the bottom half, while Shin is top 2.
Titanosaurus has the best roar.
^To be fair, that's my largest internal debate about the whole franchise. I argue with myself about that film more than anything else in the series.
When people try to say Godzilla vs. Hedorah isn't a good movie.
Wasn't sure what to expect but honestly very happy with it, I'm a big fan of all of Godzilla's more "crocodile" looking versions. Can't wait to see it in action along with the rest of the kaiju cast.
I guess I'm the only one disappointed. I'll need to see more of it, and in action, before I pass judgment, but this feels wholly unoriginal, especially for an anime. We already have the MonsterVerse Godzilla from Legendary Pictures. And Toho wisely decided to run in the opposite direction to create something new and unique for Shin Godzilla.
Now Polygon gets a hold of Godzilla for a bold, fresh story and all they decide to do is ape the 2014 design? This is an anime--For all the creative talent out there, basically updating the 2014 look feels fairly lazy and unexciting. I expected something different and wild.
Now if this were the updated look for Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, I'd be completely on board. That makes sense. But this seems like a botched opportunity to take advantage of something different and unique unto itself.
It doesn't break the movie since it clearly looks like Godzilla, but I hope I end up liking it more when further images are released.
I will absolutely agree that this a very menacing and powerful looking Godzilla. He surely does have the look of killer in my opinion as what he'll do to some other monsters. I'm happy with this design. I hope they release more.
It does look like the Legendary Godzilla, but this one seems to have been down the dark road more and that he's already been in so much battling already.
I agree Something Real. I sure He'll be incredibly powerful. Can't wait until they reveal more of Godzilla's anime design.
I wonder how big he'll be, and if he'll be the next Godzilla to clain the title of "largest" :P
Saints alive! This Godzilla appears extremely powerful in form! :)
Wow was not expecting them to go this close to legendary's design.
I like this design.
Love the Legendary-esque design!
Now this, is a really cool Godzilla.
I was going to say people's opinion on different eras, but I guess it may be the King Kong vs Godzilla ending.
I think it's fine, even like the movie more because it's the only matchup movie that doesn't leave it ambiguous and declares a winner so mad props to toho for that.
