I know it’s not from a Godzilla movie in a sense, but that still does look pretty good
Yea I'm digging 'Thermal Godzilla'
I see. I'll make a later post separating those two characters
Kong is gonna get his furry little ass handed to him
Holy moly mackorely
*Depicting
I kinda like it
Old images that are not, unfortunately, depocti g a new G figure. As nice as that would be
But Showa and Heisei don't have a lot of the same abilities. The Heisei Godzilla had far more abilities than the Showa incarnation. (Nuclear Pulse, the Spiral Ray, super regenerative powers.) And even then, the Showa Godzilla was able to do things the Heisei Godzilla couldn't. (Magnetic Powers, Flight.)
Additionally, the Showa Godzilla is an evolutionary cross between land going and sea going prehistoric animals that was merely awakened by the atomic bomb. The Heisei Godzilla was a mutation from a Godzillasaurus. In a lot of ways they couldn't be more different.
Additionally, Burning Godzilla largely has the same abilities as his normal form, they're just more powerful.
To me, the fights are only as good as the stakes raised by the stories. There's definitely a few exceptions based on circumstance and aesthetics, but usually I don't care about a battle if there aren't some deep ramifications connected to the characters, fate of the country/planet, objects lost in the battle, etc.
But if I were to make a Top 10 (and I HATE making lists, so the fact this exists from me is a small miracle) I'd likely settle on this:
10) Godzilla & Jet Jaguar vs. Megalon & Gigan (Godzilla vs. Megalon)
9) Mothra vs. Gigan (Godzilla: Final Wars)
8) Godzilla vs. Baragon (Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack)
7) Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla (Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla '74)
6) Earth's Monsters vs. King Ghidorah (Destroy All Monsters)
5) Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (Godzilla vs. Destoroyah)
4) Godzilla vs. Anguirus (Godzilla Raids Again)
3) Godzilla vs. Adult Mothra (Mothra vs. Godzilla '64)
2) Godzilla, Rodan & Mothra vs. King Ghidorah (Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster)
1) Godzilla vs. Kong (King Kong vs. Godzilla)
To be honest... I saw the clip... and the design (for me anyway) was a turn off. I did not care for it then,,, and the toy version appeals to me even less. However... the special effects in that scene were off the chain. Had G's design been better... I would have embraced it fully.
Godzilla and Company VS King Ghidorah (All Monsters Attack)
Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan VS King Ghidorah
Burning Godzilla VS Destroyah
Godzilla and Jet Jaguar VS Megalon
Godzilla VS Zilla (Final Wars, Even though it lasts like 5 seconds)
Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla final battle (Original)
Godzilla VS MUTOs
Godzilla VS Biollante final battle3
Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan vs King Ghidrah in Invasion of Astro-Monster
Godzilla and Jet Jaguar vs Megalon and Gigan in Godzilla vs Megalon
Godzilla vs Titanosaurus and Mechagodzilla in Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla vs King Caesar, Angilas, and Rodan in Final Wars
I’d say either one of the Godzilla vs. Kiryu fights of the early Showa fights against Ghidorah.
I want that poster
No big surprise since it's my favorite Godzilla film overall, but I love the tag-team match in Godzilla vs. Gigan, especially toward the end when the Big G has taken his beatings and then powers on through and beats the bejunior out of Gigan and Ghidorah. That finale to me cemented to my young eyes why it was that super lizard was going to be my hero for all times.
I know the film is mostly known by Toho fans as being that "one movie where the 2nd one had a Godzilla cameo in it", but if you can actually manage to get your hands on them I highly recommend the Always trilogy, it's a wonderfully sweet and poignant time piece drama that works on just about every level and has some of the best characters you could ask for. They were never distributed to the States but, you know, there are ways ;) Totally worthwhile. And yes, having the Big G open the 2nd movie is just that much more of a treat. If this doesn't cost an arm and a leg I wouldn't be opposed to adding it to my collection.
Also, DK, check out my other "Godzilla Game Idea" Posts, cuz I have TONS of abilities for one character
Yo Gman. I don't know much of Showa Mothra's powers, so I'm just combining Leo and Showa so that I can give them all the same powers so Mothra would have more custom abilities.
Well dont spoil it fo us Gmkgoji
My favorite has to have been Burning Godzilla vs Destroyah but it might change after Godzilla King of the Monsters releases.
Different skins is a great idea. It would be even better if there were different skills/powers too instead of only a different look. (This may have been addressed in another thread- sorry for any redundancy).
NECA makes great stuff and at reasonable price points. I like how they nailed the expression with the eyes on this model.
Cecegames02,
Yes, but Shin Godzilla made more money in Japan than Godzilla '14 or Skull Island combined in Japan. There's evidence to suggest that Toho would make more money making their own movies to a domestic audience than they would on Legendary's Monsterverse.
That doesn't mean they'll say no to more Legendary/WB Godzilla movies, but if they were to extend the contract, there would probably be new rules put in place so they could produce their own movies at the same time. And I imagine the price tag for Godzilla's license will go up as well.
I feel like giving Mothra the skins to Mothra Leo and all of his forms isn't right. Mothra Leo is a clearly different character and has been identified as a "male" Mothra, where-as the traditional Mothra is generally considered a "she". Additionally, Mothra Leo and his forms are more akin to Ultraman's powers than the Godzilla series' Mothra.
That's Armored Mothra, not Aqua Mothra. This is Aqua:
Actually, I have inside information so HAR
Is it just me or do the spines on the figure look smaller than the ones in the film?
I’m surprised that there aren’t more figures of this version of Godzilla.
I think for me it was my Dad who got me hooked when I was about seven. Just to see this awesome creature rampaging through Japan and battling other monsters was something that I enjoyed then and still do now. Watching the Godzilla movies is an amazing experience, particularly considering that the series, which is 65 years old this year, can show us the evolution of movies alongside the King himself. To me, seeing Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Final Wars when I was younger had the two biggest lasting impressions, and I've been hooked ever since.
Well, it does look cool
I got a 1974 Mechagodzilla at Wal-Mart today. I am glad they are selling these toys again!

I think its mothra
Great job again!
People,
Just because there’s a action figure doesn’t mean it will be in the movie. There have been many toy variants that will get released but aren’t in the movie themselves. There’s a big chance this is just made to look cool.
Just to entertain the idea that would also make the upcoming Alita Battle Angel movie part of the same universe which would be... very interesting if nothing else. But unfortunately the movies being different studios kind of messes that idea up. Would be interesting though to see Godzilla vs the Jagers. Though I'm pretty sure the fight would be over pretty quick and Godzilla would be the clear victor
