RR44,
Japanese audiences traditionally don't receive western interpretations of their material very well. G'14 did well all things considered, but wasn't a massive blowout in Japan.
Right now both trailers to the new movie have received very average exposure and reception in Japan. A very trustworthy source, who has typically nailed how well movies do in Japan over the last 8 years, expects it to do no better than G'14 5 years ago. It won't get anywhere close to Shin Godzilla.
Another fine example is Detective Pikachu. It's not tracking particularly high in Japan and it's confused a lot of audience members who only recall the game Detective Pikachu borderline flopping. On the other hand, the Mewtwo Strikes Back remake is likely to blow the doors off of Detective Pikachu.
They simply enjoy their interpretations more. It's just how it is.
now that's terrifying
Nani? What is this chakra?
MDK 2 ... Fat... skinny... the newest rendering of Godzilla certainly looks more appealing than the 2014 version and Japanese fans (I know a few) say that this Godzilla is a big improvement over the last one. Besides... there is the other kaiju to consider in this movie that may win them over. Ghidorah and Rodan and Mothra definitely got the Hollywood treatment and as a whole... that may well in effect be just what the doctor ordered for the Japanese fan base to say... wow... great... ect ect. We will indeed have to wait and see. Either way... this movie is going to be epic... in my opinion.
Gmkgoji You're welcome.
MDK 2 (MinecraftDinoKaiju) Thanks for reminding me agian
Gmkgoji Maybe you should put a spoiler warning on this topic before some gets upset for not being warned. Or you can just take it. It's up to you. (Insert my forum signature here.)
I've been a massive fan of Jaws and Jurassic Park ever since I was a kid. I even enjoyed the '98 version of Godzilla, which is kind of awkward to think about now :) Then Peter Jackson's King Kong came along in '05 which really upped the ante for me. It made me a fan of Kong and monster movies in general. But it wasn't until 2014 that I became a fan of Godzilla too. I watched some of the original Japanese Godzilla movies a few weeks before Gareth Edwards' film hit the theaters, and while the outdated puppet effects looked rather cheesy (for someone who grew up watching big budget Hollywood films), they were incredibly fun to watch. I instantly knew what was missing from my life :)
Eh, proceed at your own risk

Interesting. Very interesting. Where did you find the names?
Well, there's only one way we can do to find out. (Insert my forum signature here.) You're welcome.
G. H. (Gman) So I've heard. I just haven't had the time to see them. But I might eventually.
Well, at the very least, the names do have some significance to them. They're interesting, that much is for certain
The first fits the Munich Titan well given the namesake's longevity in the bible, and Scylla implies some kinda sea monster.
I already know who going to win lol.
We can all help to make this happen.
Godzillatheking123,
He said Godzilla: The Series, not the movie.
MDK 2,
The Gamera Trilogy remains some of the greatest kaiju films of all time. A must have.
Looks awesome, OP. Good job.
MDK 2: Hmmm...I'm not allowed to edit for some reason, so can't correct errors in my post. Anyway, the 98 film, you are free to decide what you think. As a standalone monster movie, I personally don't think it's really that awful. Not great, but not the worst movie there is. The problem is that it is called "Godzilla", and the monster in the 98 movie displayed almost no traits that Godzilla should have. That has always been the main beef with the 98 movie that critics have.
Yeah I knew it was the Final wars goji
Thanks guys glad you're liking it:).
Yeah, it's not particularly the best representation, but it's suppose to be the Final Wars Godzilla. Usually the orange eyes are the trademark giveaway, via Bandai. They really screwed the pooch with his muzzle though.
NO!!!! WE WILL NOT LOSE ANOTHER ONE!!!!
Oh. Okay then. That explains why it looks different
Oh yeah that is the Bandai 12 inch final wars goji, they used a completely different mold for it I believe

Some more images for a closer look
It may just be how the picture looks
Hmmmm... the six-inch figure next to him is a final wars goji, and they don't really look alike.
It looks like final wars goji

I can't tell what era this fella is from though
Can’t explain it just I am ever since I saw King Kong versus Godzilla on channel 11 at the age of five
Gmkgoji Ok, see ya later, then.
