Only thanks to Godzilla's popularity, his personal pantheon is much more balanced. In the Showa films the ratio of monsters with and without beam attacks is heavily in favor of the beamless. Rodan and Mothra didn't get energy attacks until the Heisei era, so with the exception of Minilla and technically King Caesar Godzilla was the only heroic monster in his universe with a beam attack until the 80s. The MonsterVerse seems to want to stay at least somewhat grounded, so like the Showa era it appears to be keeping the beam-blasting monsters to a minimum to make them more noticeable and keep the fights from devolving into the static shootouts we sometimes got in the Heisei era, which is fine by me. Of course I could be proven totally wrong next year, but currently I like how they've done things so far.
Well beam/lazer/plasma attacks are the staple of most kaiju
Grew up going to Saturday matinees. The Godzilla movies were the best! Radioactive monsters: how cool is that?!!!
I'm in the camp of no, he can't. He's only done that twice before, as Fire Rodan and in the Pipeworks games. It was never an essential part of his shtick, plus so far only Ghidorah and Godzilla have had beam attacks in the MonsterVerse, and if Rodan had one too it would make the ability seem less special overall. Besides, if I interpreted the battle correctly Rodan can already channel his magma system to scorch enemies at close range, and that's cool enough for me.
That said... if in Godzilla Vs Kong he makes a surprise entrance by blasting a fireball down from the clouds above I will not object in the slightest, because that would be awesome. :P
I don't remember this titan appearing in the movie.
He is a manufactured, mechanized Godzilla..with crazy and big weapons.
I can see how it looks like that, but since there’s no actual confirmation I’d say he can’t.
Hello. I am now SC.
Would like to know how I can find a list of my posts and the replies to them?
Thanks

And by process of elimination you can guess who Godzilla is.
If you don’t get the reference Rodan is Fegelein.
Yes, but Destoroyah only happened in one continuity. Not any of the Showa, Millennium or Reiwa films.
After Ogata found out, if Serizawa hadn't done it himself someone else likely would have. Then the compound would have definitely fallen in the wrong hands.
It was a good choice after being convinced. Godzilla was a great threat, he even sacrificed him self and his lab stuff to make sure ppl don't use ideas to harm others. Even though destroyah was created anyway years later but I guess during their present it was important to finish gojira it was a bad idea for the future because of destroyah but gojira was the only threat at the time so yes even though he didn't want to necessarily do it he got convinced and did it.
Yes he did the right thing,Emiko and Ogata convinced him though.
Daisuke Serizawa was, in a way, forced to use the Oxygen destroyer. He didn't want to, but he had to use it
I honestly agree that it was the best choice he could have made in that scenario. It must have took a lot of courage to make that decision, and to do what he did to kill Godzilla.
For some reason I second-guess everything. It might be because morally grey choices really scare me. I really dread the day I’ll have to make one.
Serizawa was backed into a corner. He didn't want to detonate the Oxygen Destroyer at all. It was Emiko and Ogata that convinced him--And in doing so it gave him the only out to make sure humanity wouldn't use it.
Leaving Tokyo Bay barren vs. giving the Cold War more to flex over seems like a no-brainer decision.
Y'know, if you look at that section of Kong's hair, and squint, you can see Kong's hair.
yeah a snout, two eyes but one of the eyes above the "N" looks more mechanical
I'm not sure.. if that was intentional... but if it is, YEEEEEEES
Lol I loved the honest trailers I don't take it personally offensive bcs its really funny in my mind. As soon as they find the monster they STARE.... XD
Gman: Oh I wouldn’t say I was mad at it. I was just trying to say I strongly disagree with it. Some parts were funny. I also just don’t like honest trailers that much anymore also. It’s no use freaking out over a stupid YouTube video.
Yeah, I'm probably just over defensive about the movie, comes from being the only real fan of Godzilla in the family.
I actually kind of liked the EWW for G'14(almost entirely for the gag about removing sins), but I haven't watched anything from Cinema Sins since like 2017. And without them I bet we wouldn't have had that "Run to the side you idiot!" gag in Kong: Skull Island.
As much as I agree with the Honest Trailer take on the movie, even I can't take it as any serious criticism--It's Honest Trailers; they're known for good natured prodding and poking at every movie's holes. Whether you agree with it or not, just accept that it has problems (like every movie Honest Trailers spoofs) and it's fun to poke at inconsistencies.
I mean, c'mon, "Sigh as a cast with 3 Emmys and 5 Oscar nominations between them tackles a big budget Sharknado."
And the "stare" montage was gold. And remember... The real alpha is corporate inertia!
Now Cinema Sins... They're just awful at their job. I'm sure they'll muck this up tastelessly.
I'll admit I let out a few begrudging chuckles watching it. It's at least a decent indicator of what complaints to expect from people who aren't fans of the franchise. Still a shame it wasn't as much of a promotion for the movie as Pacific Rim's, but I've yet to see an Honest Trailer that tops that one, so C'est la vie.
Well, we're officially back in business.
The Honest trailer was hilarious.
Normie: OMG Marvel movies are DA BEST
Me:

@Titan of Water: Heh, I'm guessing you've seen the Honest Trailer too?
