@GUATEGOJIRA - Well I suppose its time to cram everything we possiby can into the next Godzilla film Man of Steel 2 style ;] But seriously, if it happens, you're right, everythings gonna be stuffed in worse than 12 sardines in a Starbucks coffee straw and probably with a run time less than 2 hours for budget restrictions that may resort from shoehorning in the entire G universe with all that grade-A cgi Gareth has access to now.

My girlfriend watches them for me, she enjoys them but doesn't salivate over them like I do. She (much like me mom does with my dad's animes) watches them with me because she cares about me :D

Ladies and gents, I live in Ohio, and I bought three tickets on Saturday the 19th for a 2D showing at 7:45 on May 15th!!!!!!!!  I couldn't believe it!  Rave Motion Pictures and Fandango were showing the same thing, but I was confidant I was seeing things.  NOPE!  It was real, and I will be seeing the movie EARLY!!!! :D I have NO IDEA why theaters are doing advance screenings more than four hours before midnight on opening day, but you know what?!  I DON'T CARE!!!!  I don't make the rules... I just enjoy them! :)

I think that Edwards say that, just to avoid any deep question about the movie and to divert the attention from its hidden details.

Final Wars approached that stile and the result was a long 2 hrs movie with less than 40 minutes of Godzilla on screen. It is like to say that “The Dark Knight 4” will present, in less than 2 hours, the full game of Arkham asylum.

@GUATEGOJIRA - You may be right. I wonder if the second muto will be larger or longer than Godzilla. I'm expecting it to be some giant queen like centipede monster similar to what we saw in the first leaked teaser from comic con. I really liked that design.

That is what I tried to say. The Hokmuto (winged muto) is too far and Godzilla is too close, for a reliable comparison. We can't say that Godzilla is way larger than the muto because they are not in the same PERSPECTIVE OR DISTANCE. Toys suggest similar heights (not equal, just similar, read it well), and the image of Godzilla vs Hokmuto (winged muto) in one of the tv spots, support my claim.

Well to be honest, it really depends on who you ask. I don't think there exists a film that is universally hated by all the G-fans, if there is one than it must fail pretty hard. But tread carefully, spreading a commentary like that may breed new haters where potential G-fans should be.

@THE WEAVER - Good point. And as for overstuffed films, well, audiences worldwide are no strangers to that concept, how its executed is all that matters in the end. Besides, if Gareth can get a proper script for it and it gets green-lit its a rap. Seeing how Pacific Rim performed in the box office sporting a similar concept to DAM with world wide mayhem and numerous monsters and mechs I can pretty much assume that there is an auidence out there craving that sort of film. I guess it comes down to this movie's performance and what fans want next. If you're right though I'll be dissapointed in Gareth.

If there's a sequel using a Monster Island concept I highly doubt they'll go with it, since for a serious themed setting that just sounds silly. My guess is that (If they really want to use all those TOHO monsters) they would just kick the story up with all the kaijus attacking worldwide cities and have a plot about Godzilla awakening to face them and wreck stuff up once more.

However even this is overblown, you can't cram too many eggs in one basket, it's loud, messy and too confusing. I doubt Gareth will take this concept far, it's likely he just answered out of personal hype.

Nope. Just look at the footage, muto is farther into the background then Godzilla, so his height isnt exactly compareable accurately because Godzilla is WAY closer to the foreground.

@KOLDWARKID62 - Is AMC the better option for a block buster movie? I haven't yet decided where to go.

I don't remember Hokmuto sporting a visible stinger. Maybe the second mystery Muto will feature something of the sort. Maybe Hokmuto has one inside his mouth hoping to get the drop on Godzilla Alien style :]

Hopefully this movie will put Godzilla back on the map and with a new found appeal to what I can only imagine will be a larger audience. Gone are the days of the infamous man in a suit jumping around like a mascot for a college football team.

It is simply my attempt to connect the Gareth's Godzilla canon to the real world facts and the actual Pacific Proving Grounds testing. Things that aren't officially stated here are just part of my embellishments at speculating what could have happened.

There were a total of eight operations in the Pacific, four of these are very likely to have been connected with Godzilla, but bear in mind that not every single one of these bombs were thrown at him, half of them were still utilized for their regular testing purposes, perhaps to cover up their real intentions (Since a few bomb were detonated in multiple zones at once). Though a good chunk of them could have likely targeted the Big King.

88 nukes were used in these operations, 52 at most could have been specifically targeted at Godzilla himself. By each operation that passed, each nuclear testing intensified, so the whole war was basically a big trial and error that lasted for a decade, until they just gave up entirely.

@JUNKERDE - Tears? The only tears I'm sheeding are over those come backs lol, a real tragedy. I haven't cried this hard since the end of Angel Beats, that was a sad anime indeed. Manly tears were shed.

Many theaters are having earlier or advanced showings. I bought three tickets for my two sons and me for 7pm on the 15th. We're seeing it at an AMC theater.
