I really love that idea. I understand that want for Godzilla to be horror, and I’ve tried designing my godzilla around that somewhat, (that’s why it smiles.) I actually love the cosmic Horror Idea for ghidorah and I don’t think the concept is ruined but was executed poorly, (with the fight against Goji at least)
I think you should write out a sort of explanation for him to see. It’s really good, though.
That’s a cool trilogy @MilqueChocolate! How did you like mine?
I finally have my concept ready haha. Been a while but here goes:
It'll will be a trilogy and will revolve around the extermination of Godzilla himself. I dont want to use any other monsters here as I have a different ideal approach.
My ideal composer for this would be: Hiroyuki Sawano. His ability to enhance any emotion in a scene with ease makes his talent eye-catching.
Film 1: In summary, this film will have Godzilla make his debut to humankind with the intent to destroy. I want to not only show how cruel and menacing his existence can be, but the horrifying effects of his iconic breath. Imagine if Godzilla's breath attack on a human being not only vaporizes them, but leaves an atomic shadow of them? The film's primary focus is to show the terror of something like Big G attacking mankind and the aftermath of his rampage, while also solidifying humanity as the underdog of this trilogy. Godzilla will evolve his abilities slowly, allowing him to get to his peak by the third film.
Film 2: This film will focus on preparing humanity's comeback, with the drive to fight back against this threat. Godzilla is claiming the world as his territory, and humanity is losing its edge. They realize that if Godzilla is evolving, they also would need to push forward and advance their tech and weaponry. They begin to develop a counter-offensive, a fighter of their own. Something to withstand Godzilla's abilities but realistically still be prone to damage by them (the film wouldnt be fun if it could just tank what Godzilla throws at him).
Film 3: This film is the endgame. The final offensive against Godzilla. The mech has been prepared, but Godzilla has already turned a good amount of larger civilizations into a azure-scorched wasteland. This film represents humanity's comeback, with humankind banding together to stop a common enemy as a species. Since this would be all-out war, this film would have countless casualties. The tone still being consistent throughout as a horror with realistic, yet bombastic action. The mech's purpose is to damage Godzilla enough so we can deal the final blow. Hoping the mech kills Godzilla by itself is wishful thinking and would be cliche plot-wise.
This is just a summary but I'd love to go in-depth with this in a legitimate topic. The whole point of this trilogy is to introduce the audience a horror trilogy with an iconic monster while also holding out hope that humanity will survive and triumph against him. Godzilla started off as a horror film, and I believe that using that tone not only does him justice but shows audiences what he was before he was a hero. He was a towering horror, and he still retains his badassery that way.
(I did have a secondary concept that revolved around a "Destroy all Monsters" with Ghidorah being the cosmic threat against the world. I feel he isnt properly conveyed to be such and I think having him be the unholy destroyer could be a pretty dope thing to see on-screen.
Wait I’m list mine,
-Godzilla Comes Ashore
-Godzilla’s Entrace in Terror Of Mechagodzilla
-Godzilla Underwater Beginning scene in GMK
-Godzilla Atomic Breath G 14
-Godzilla Comes Ashore in 4th form (Shin)
-Atomic Breath Shin
-Godzilla Earth Wakes Up, (whether or not you like the anime, this scene is awesome)
-Godzilla Terristrius First scene, Singular Point
I feel these scenes do godzilla the most justice.
yes that is like my favorite scene
Godzilla’s epic 2014 roar in Chinatown
i was talking about the design, and was being a word in my username
ack reminds me what happened like last weekend
it was...not good
that is all the information you're getting lol
yes he's flawless besides that
1962 Kong has a lot of issues (not just his design)…
For example, he kind of has a drinking problem...

the kong suit is flawless what are you talking about?!!
Most of the effects in the 1954 film hold up incredibly well Today, the rest of the Showa series is sort of a mixed bag with some effects looking amazing and others not so much...*cough* *cough* 1962 Kong suit...
That really just shows why Practical effects are so important. Whilst CGI will always evolve over the years causing older stuff to look outdated easily, there's something about practical effects like suitmation which makes it timeless. Even after 65 years those effects still hold up!
People talk about the early godzilla films spfx and compare them to monsterverse, but When I saw 1954 i didn’t expect it to look as amazing as it did
This isn’t a godzilla moment, but that train with the muto being lit up is amazing
The towers were apparently made of painted wax and the film crew supposedly shined a heat lamp on it causing the effect of the metal turning white hot and melting.
I like it too, I like how the metal turns bright before folding, kinda like how you’d expect.
Even the Monsterverse Rodan can easily slaughter the entire Pacific Rim universe.
I'll say the Honolulu Incident as well.
That scene has one of my favorite effects shot in the series when Godzilla uses his atomic breath to melt the towers.
The kiss of death in G14
i thought that too.
You just made me notice the wires thing that song. I feel like the train scene is also Iconic
I LOVED THE BUILDUP OF THE AIRPORT SCENE FROM THE TSUNAMI TO EVERYONE GOING QUITE WHEN GODZILLA STEPS. THAT GUY UNDER THE PLANE WING WHEN WATER CAME WAS LIKE, “what the fu-“
Him pulling the electrical wires down in the original. It's the first line in the Blue Oyster Cult song, which was one of my first introductions to the character, so seeing him do it in the movie was pretty iconic for me.
"Queen B****" was just a nickname given to the insectoid queen in the script (possibly as a reference to Aliens?), I'm not sure if they would have actually called her that in the movie.
I ALWAYS FORGET THAT PART AND ITS LIKE ONE OF MY FAVORITES
same with the ending
Also like the atomic breath power up in G 14
oh yeah i really need to watch the original again
1954 - Godzilla Comes Ashore. Barely disturbs the water, it’s kind of unsettling
Very disappointing when compared to Legendary Godzilla
yeah everyone's just like
AAAAH WEIRD GIANT BUG GUYS BACK
then suddenly
BADOOOM
big lizard guy
Thank you all haha, I'm honestly excited too!
@SarcasticGoji ZBrush has more to offer in terms of sculpting tools than Blender. Blender does have some great tools for a free program so its also worth the effort. HOWEVER, there is a ZBrush to Blender workflow available. Sculpt in ZBrush, polypaint and rig the model in Blender :).
Oooo, that’s also a great one!!! That Airport entrance still gives me chills to this day. For me it’s that silence after Godzilla foot touches down which makes that moment feel so epic to me
like, sonictiger would agree with me on this probably, MV Goji's first EPIC roar
basically, anytime he roars for the first time in a movie
or anytime, really
wouldn't make some sorta sense for Queen B to be...y'know...a dog? Because...female dogs are called- i'll see myself out
JEEZ GOJI YOUR REALLY GOOD AT ART
also yes Gojiverse and ROTK are both really good, you procrastinate much less than me at stuff TwT
