It's funny how no one has chosen the 1976 version yet.
Come on, it deserves some love too. I mean, it had a really big snake on it and... uh... actually that's about it...
Personally I don't think it would be a satisfying ending, mainly because there's a lot more that can (and probably should) be explored in this universe. If the series ended with GvK, there would be a lot of questions that would be left unanswered. Such as, What happened during the ancient Titan war, how did it start? What happened to the Hollow Earth Kongs? Why did Ghidorah come to Earth? Are there other alien Titans out there? What lead up to Ghidorah being frozen in Antarctica? What is the Hollow Earth energy source? How did ancient civilizations coexist with the Titans? What lead to the Titans going into hibernation for thousands of years? What is the origins of the Titans? Plus, we've only seen a fraction of what's actually in the Hollow Earth and given how we've had 3 movies building up to the idea (There's even some references to the idea in Godzilla 2014), it would be a major missed opportunity not to explore it more.
I think it would be a satisfying ending for me. I personally have found all my questions about this story answered, especially the hollow earth.
Honestly. Don’t think Godzilla will continue being in the MV. But like SasquaDash said, Godzilla vanishing for no reason would be weird. And how they got rid of him would matter. We wouldn’t want the Goji fan base to be angry at MV for ditching him in a lousy way, like just saying, “Oh he died” or something.
I would find this ending satisfying if Kong was not getting another film.
Yeah, it's too abrupt for Godzilla. They've also set up larger roles for Kong, and I think Madison's story is not finished as well. What we need it closure.
I feel like it would be too abrupt of an ending for him. If Godzilla's going to be absent from the MonsterVerse (at least for now) then I feel like he should get a bigger send off than just him swimming away. It seems like Legendary might continue the MonsterVerse with Kong, though Godzilla's role in it is uncertain. But considering that the MonsterVerse started with Godzilla and the fact that he's currently established as the Alpha/Apex titan of the series, I feel like it would be weird for him to just vanish without any explanation. If they did something similar 1984, where Godzilla falls into an erupting volcano and is presumed dead, I think it could be a good way of explaining his absence while still having the opportunity to eventually bring him back in the future.
Personally as much as I love the original 1933 and MonsterVerse versions, my favorite is the 2005 version. I feel like it was the most interesting version, with how it was presented, the way it looked, the creatures on the island, and the history that it had.
I personally like MVs,
it feels very distinct
I didn't include the Toho versions (Faro Island & Mondo Island) either, as they are technically separate from Skull Island, despite being based on it.
I only included the versions connected to the films, so versions only connected to books or animated series aren't included.
Hehehe you are all pathetic i am destroyah the conquer of worlds the destroyer of planets you will fear me and than evan after you join me i will still end you i am destroyah
SasquaDash,
As I said, music is the one fairly consistent thing in the Godzilla series that's of high quality. David Arnold needs to be hired for more work these days. I certainly miss him doing Bond flicks.
Some fans may not like me saying this, but I always thought the 1998 film had a really good soundtrack. It was one of the few genuinely good things in the movie.
Pov: Plot armor doesn't exist in Godzilla vs Kong
Yeah! I created a feature that lets staff front page forum topics and it actually publishes as an article by whoever created the topic! Automatic crediting. It definitely deserved homepage exposure!
Wow, wasn't expecting the post I made about the video actually becoming a full article and I wasn't expecting to be credited in it, Thank You. :)
Also keep in mind many of the actors present in the MV have taken on darker projects, so it's feels off that they don't go all in.
It was really cool!
This guy has been making these for a while actually, and He has a Xenomorph comparison one as well.
I've front paged this as well to help get this video more views! Pretty incredible it's done over 1.4 million in just for days.
Right? So well done!
Always enjoy comparison videos like these. The animations are great! Personally, nothing beats 1989 - 90s for atomic breath.
I would love to see a darker, R-rated Godzilla flick, with the same atmosphere as the 2012 teaser. I think of the Monsterverse films 2014 did the best job of this though, but it could have been much darker.
Honestly if you want darker tone check out some of the more recent Japanese projects,
Honestly I’m fine with MV continuing. It’s not something I’m particularly excited about anymore. Especially whether it’s unclear or not Godzilla will still be in it.
Akane Yashiro or kayoko ann patterson
Personally, I think that tone should be in the next MonsterVerse Goji movie or a total reboot.
Honestly, I feel as though music is the one fairly consistent thing in the Godzilla series that's of high quality. It's much easier to single out the weaker scores as the vast majority are excellent.
Mysterians and....singular point? i forgot that came out.
I still enjoy listening to the ones in my playlist, but after about 9 months a person gets a little burnt out.
I'd recommend listening to The Mysterians. It's has one of Ifukube's best main themes and he never repurposed it for the Godzilla series.
I also definitely recommend Kan Sawada's Godzilla Singular Point soundtrack. It was excellent.
But also, why not enjoy the soundtracks from some of your favorites? While not always the case I feel that usually works in tandem.
Oh and before anyone says it, yes, ive listened to some of Godzilla 2016.
Ive listened to all of Godzilla 2014, KoTM, and Gvk(obviously), some Skull island as well. ive also listened to Varan, rodan, and GMK. I just dont feel like searching randomly for more.
Before I dive into this, define, "run out"? What have you listened to/exhausted?
i love most of them but i'ma say something controversial: '98
