This yr is pretty much the yr of Godzilla and ghidorah lol #teamghidorah
The hype is real baby
He looks absolutely amazing! I would honestly love to see if each head had a different personality but still all come together to fight Godzilla.
For me it just kinda is what it is. I actively look for the best out of even Godzilla movies I don't really care for, and as a practicing man of faith I didn't even mind the actively anti-religious messaging because honestly the Exif (SPOILERS**************) are not representative of a real faith but rather a dangerous cult, but the movie was just so ponderous and pretentious it got exhausting to hold out until the end. I knew from word of mouth from my friends in Tokyo that it wasn't going to be a masterpiece, but I still had hoped it would end stronger.
The positives are that the animation improved a lot since the first, the drama was stronger and they pushed some boundaries no other films in the franchise had (sex and pregnancy have never been handled in a Japanese Godzilla film before), but I'm just not enchanted with the anime in the end. As I've said before, I hope Toho tries the animation route again and next time does it a lot better.
lol What was it suppose to be?
As long as its successful, I don't see why the Monsterverse wouldn't continue. Deals can be renewed. As for sequel ideas, I want Gigan, but more sci-fi schlock in general. Bring in lost undersea civilizations like Seatopia, Xilliens, and they could even do Destroy All Monsters. There's a lot of lore to build off of, and lots of potential for original ideas as well.
Just watch all of them.
Gotta take the good WITH the bad, or else we'd never learn :P
Movies that are a must watch include the following.
Gojira 1954
Shin Godzilla 2016
Invasion of Astro Monster 1965
Mothra vs Godzilla 1964
Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster 1964
Terror of MechaGodzilla 1975
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 1974
King Kong vs Godzilla 1962
Godzilla, Mothra King Ghidorah Giant Monsters All Out Attack 2001
Godzilla 1984
Godzilla vs Biollante
Godzilla vs The Sea Monster 1966
Gamera Guardian of the Universe 1995
Gamera 2: Advent of Legion 1996
Gamera 3: The Revenge of Iris 1999
Pacific Rim 2013.
These films are top notch filmmaking and are quite honestly, the best quality of Kaiju films. I'd definitely recommend these as these are all highly praised films by fans and critics alike.
If you haven't watched the original 1954 Godzilla film, do so immediately.
After that, you can either watch them in release order or just pick whatever titles strike your fancy. There are other Toho monsters for sure, but the only one with multiple franchises is Mothra.
Wow, so Planet Eater is easily the best out of the three in my opinion with Planet of Monsters in 2nd, and City on The Edge of Battle in 3rd. This one just did everything right in my opinion, I loved the drama between Haruo, and Metphis, and I loved the utter hoplessness that came with Godzilla fighting Ghidorah. Without spoiling anything, it was a great movie, and was a delightful send off to an otherwise interesting universe. Hopefully we get a prequel movie to tell the events of the books because that would be awesome.
I thought the third was the best of the series. I was interesting to say the least. I thought the did the fight well for Godzilla Earth and Ghidorah, given their characteristics. I like all the easter eggs in it too. Especially...well I can't say because spoilers.
You're right about one thing, Zilladude, kong will be going down like the titanic- just look at this:

I like the anime trilogy. It gives a nice spin of the "Traditionalism" of most other Godzilla movies. So I think I will like the Planet Eater.
Like I said, it won't be for most people.
If you haven't liked how the trilogy has been executed before this entry, the movie likely won't convince you otherwise.
After seeing the final film in the anime trilogy, that film's version of Ghidorah, WITHOUT ANY DOUBT, is Godzilla's most powerful enemy.
He is literally nothing BUT absolute unfair hax that you can't do anything against unless you target what keeps him anchored to our universe.
Destoroyah and SpaceGodzilla
Did anyone else notice it looks like she's reacting the eye and not the people with the guns? Her face looks as though it is to the ice wall and not the guy with pistol to screen right. At least from what I can tell, she does have long hair which could be hiding the direction she's actually looking. But that's just what I've noticed
I think it's going to come down to a one on one with Ghidorah and Godzilla duking it out for the title. While I'd like to see the three vs one battle from the 64 film, I think with the way they're marketing the movie that it's going to come down to Ghidorah vs Godzilla in the end. Though we did get that trailer shot of Mothra and Rodan diving in rain clouds that looked a lot like the ones in the final trailer scene. So maybe, just maybe.
well shma works the hardest to make spot on details to look just like the movies.
Bumping this for relevance.
Godzilla: The Planet Eater is now open to review.
Hes just big enough to be a physical threat. Just how I like it..... Kong is going down like the titanic
He looks like just the right size for the fight. Kong is about the same size if not a little bit smaller than Godzilla which is what I was hoping for.
Paint job: Equal. They both look pretty nice to me.
Sculpting: I would say SHMA.
Articulation: I think Shma takes this one too.
Accessories: Probably Neca.
Oh, I want Mechagodzilla, but if we are talking about Godzilla 3 I would like to see Biollante. I think it would be too soon for the Monsterverse to add Mechagodzilla and I think Biollante would be the best choice as a replacement.
The Monsterverse just needs to take their time with Mechagodzilla seeing as a lot of people don't think that Mechas would work as of right now.
The "world on a turtle's back" comparison is actually something I never thought about. I really like it though. I guess you could say it's like an unintentional detail. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
Like the idea of Gamera carrying atlantis on his back, a lot like the "World on a turtle's back" story from Native American culture
Alot more people want Biollante more then I thought....I would have thought that they want MechaGodzilla
HELL YEAH!!!!! CECEGAMES THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!!
I don't think it's going to matter how big Kong will be in 2020, Godzilla's going to kick his furry ape ass!
Zilladude so true, but hopefully that will change with the massive fan base for the Monsterverse, and the ever-rising hype for Godzilla V Kong
The figures look the same to me
I think it will start as a 2v2 (Godzilla and Mothra VS Rodan and Ghidorah) and later turn into the classic 3v1 battle (Rodan would turn on Ghidorah).
