Me neither but I am close to a couple theaters
This IS Arcs System Works, who do good work in fighting games, with titles like Dragon Ball FighterZ under their belt.
If they're behind this, it could be pretty good.
Thanks Kaiju World.
I would buy more, but I don't want to spend all of that money at once.
@husky8
Not really, actually. Most pine trees grow to about 150 feet tall, and sometimes as tall as 260ft. Redwoods average out at 300ft, only 93ft shorter than Godzilla, so length isn't a problem. Sure it will act more like a spear than the club from Kong: Skull Island, but I'm sure they'll figure out something for Kong to do with it.
I thought Fire Godzilla was just the result of Godzilla’s nuclear overload at the end of the movie. I thought Mothra simply healed Godzilla’s wounds.

G. H. (Gman): You are fortunate, I don't live in a place with a lot of limited theatrical release. :(
I agree with that, but given that Toho pushed Shin Godzilla for an international theatrical release, I think it's very possible we'd see more exports like that. I'm fine with limited releases and was still able to see Shin Godzilla four times in theaters.
Godzillatheking123: I agree the interest in the big G might be more limited than say Marvel or Star War movies. But if it was really super niche, I think the international box office take would be very low, like below $100 million for the first week.
As for Toho taking the reins back, sure, ony issue is that the experience of watching the big G on the big screen everywhere will be missed. There is something about watching Godzilla in cinema that can't be replicated with a home tv.
I had chills when I saw the fire Godzilla in cinemas. And with everything melting around him, it was an incredible experience.
Godzillatheking123,
There's just not a lot of interest. The genre is simply niche. I think Toho taking the reins again would be healthy for its continuation and the fanbase--And it seems to be heading that direction since Japan is, surprisingly, the country most on fire about Godzilla right now.
macumbalove: Did Godzilla call your mom names or something? What are you doing on a Godzilla forum anyway apart from being a troll? How about this, if WB and Legendary releases G vs K as planned in theaters, you will admit you were wrong about Netflix. How about that?
G. H. (Gman): I won't go so far as to say Godzilla is not appealing to the international audience. It is making decent box office. Not so great as the previous monsterverse movies perhaps, but there is interest in the property.
No way WW will go to Netflix; That brand actually interests audiences. I don't know what it will take to convince people Godzilla is an utter failure outside of Japan; This the third try the US had and they still screwed it up. Not as much as '98, But they still failed. Come to think of it, A few Heisei movies bombed and a lot of the millenium series bombed too.
By that logic Wonder Woman 1984 might go to Netflix. WB is pulling out of SDCC because the con's viability has been waning over the last several years and more studios are resorting to their own events to announce movie slates and show of trailers. Additionally it did not confirm whether Legendary would be there.
While Godzilla isn't interesting the domestic or international audience, Japan has confirmed that they are interested in Godzilla again. If Toho can make money domestically, then they will continue making movies. And it's already been proven the Japanese audience is shelling out money for Godzilla again thanks to Shin Godzilla's monstrous success and KotM pulling similar numbers at opening.
Honestly, any of the Heisei movies (Godzilla VS King Ghidorah would be my choice), Final wars and you can't go wrong with the original 1954 Gojira.
kotm is bombing; It'll probably be pulled from theaters soon. Seeing as how it was announced today that WB will not be at SDCC this year, GvsK might go right to Netflix. if you think people don't care about Godzilla now, They really won't care about him a year from now.
You're opinion about whether or not they suck still does not support the comment, "Godzilla's done for awhile after 2020."
I'm not talking about Shin's financial success or g'14's; I'm aware they made a lot of money. They both suck. The animated trilogy was one of the worst things I have ever seen with Godzilla's name on it.
macumbalove,
Toho Plans Godzilla Cinematic Universe After 2020, No Shin Godzilla 2
Also, regardless of your opinion of Shin Godzilla, it made Toho a great deal of money and accolades. As I said elsewhere:
"It was the #1 highest grossing live action Japanese film in three years - The #2 2016 release in Japan and #3 overall. (Your Name. and The Force Awakens [spilling over from 2015] beat it out.) It is the 5th most attended Godzilla film in Japanese history. It won and was nominated for over 20 awards across 7 film awards ceremonies and festivals, won the Japanese Academy Award for Best Picture, has two 4D attractions at Universal Studios, a VR game, 3-4 mobile games, a statue that's replaced the Heisei Godzilla statue and a partridge in a pear tree. Toho is STILL making money off that movie today."
With KotM projected to make Toho more money than Godzilla '14 and Shin Godzilla's massive success, the brand's viability is the strongest it's been in Japan since the early 1990s. It's certainly stronger than it was in the 2000s. Toho knows they can make money off of Godzilla again, because they have been. And they're not about to stop after 2020.
Thoughts on a phase 2? lol it won't happen, Those are my thoughts. Toho never confirmed they are making more G films in 2021; I have no idea were this came from. They just made a big investment in Hollywood so I think they are on hiatus for now. Godzilla is in a bad state right now; G'14 and kotm were utter disasters, and the animated trilogy and shin godzilla were utter abominations. Godzilla's done for a while after 2020.
As a Kong fan since 2005, I'd really like to join #TeamKong but since KotM didn't do justice to Rodan's character in my opinion, I'll keep standing for the Fire Demon. I hope he returns in Godzilla vs. Kong to kick some major Mecha-Ghidorah ass! :)
Also, I think I found our team's official theme song:

They will seriously have to downsize Godzilla to see a tree in his hand!
Hmmm, 2d... it might be like a Mortal Kombat style game.
I hope this is real! I have never wanted to buy Godzilla PS4 due to the horrible reviews, but I would pick this up!
No, they are making Kong bigger.
Does anyone notice how much bigger Godzilla is than Kong? Remember Kong lifting the chain and anchor in Skull Island. I don't even think you could tell if Godzilla was holding an anchor. They are going to have to make Godzilla alot smaller for that upcoming movie!
This game seems good but we got to find out to if the graphics are great.
I dunno. You might want to stick to neca if you are not satisfied
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
As someone who thought getting the Neca versions was going to be a splurge, I'm probably not the most qualified to comment but here I am anyways. Judging by some additional promo images of Mothra, I think her abdomen might be on a hinge(Link to pictures http://shma-articulationseries.com/upcoming-releases.html), which is something at least. Overall I think they look really good(though not quite movie accurate), but I do think they could have done a lot more in the posing department, especially in Rodan's case.
They aren't available until November anyways, you've got plenty of time to think it over.
It would be cool to see Godzilla Jr in the Monsterverse like what happend in 1995 when godzilla died but their was so much radiation released from godzilla when he died. Jr absorbed the radiation and became a full grown godzilla.
Ahhh okay I see what you meant by that, GMK and Shin Gojira Nationalism thing in Japan.
@SaibaShinrei
Agreed. Then again, if Kong can even bring Godzilla to a stalemate just by his own ingenuity I think that would more than justify not giving him a power boost. The premise of the original was brains vs brawn, if they really lean into that I can see it being epic with or without lightning fists.
@SaibaShinrei
Because Gravity Beams sounds cooler than Lightning beams(which according to Wikizilla actually was an alternate name in the Showa era). Plus, did the original's ever really do anything gravity-related? Not till the Final Wars version if I recall correctly.
Jeez well both are them are some of the most deadliest incarnations of Godzilla.
Unleashed powerups I meant. Autocorrect blows
Freaking sweet! Glad it's not another crappy tablet game. Base it off of Zelda ocarina of time or Drakan ancient gates style gameplay but let us roam the earth and befriend or battle other kaiju. Unleashed powerful were cool and that game rocks but the barriers always urk me. Give us an open world like GTA style but with Kaiju. Please no shitty barriers like in KOTM from SNK. Best game besides KOTM2 but ever since Godzilla games are plagued with barriers. Look at the b&w tutorial for the first ps4 G game. It looks like you get to thrash Tokyo hard but we are let down fast to find we are stuck on a path to the Tokyo tower. Greatest game but the barriers really piss me off. I want a Godzilla game where I can literally be Godzilla WOW style. Make it an rpg please
