I've heard from other places that the toy is only a rough translation of the actual design, so the proportions could just simply be off. If not, and given his strange new zygodactyl claw hands, I strongly suspect this Mechagodzilla is going to be either a climber or an optional quadruped. Alternately, the bigger arms could be an attempt to combine the best aspects of Godzilla and Kong into one entity, making it the theoretical perfect kaiju-killer.
Gmkgoji "The snake-like titan is probably Quezacoatal."
Yeah, that's what I think too. Glad I'm not the only one.
TheLazyFish "I think the MechaG toy is possibly a misdirection, due to the odd proportions of its arms and legs. Think of the Chaos Effect toy line from Jurassic Park, most of those things never made an appearance in the franchise. Usually, when something has weird proportions, it doesn't make it into the movie. And just look at those arms!"
Hmmm...maybe. As for those robo-biceps of his, I imagine the unusual size is to give him a bigger advantage in melee combat.
Godzilla vs Kong: Gladiators
I just busted out laughing right now in my history class when i read that first meme about the obscure Godzilla kaiju. My friend said, "Spicy".

This "unknown titan" is actually "Mega Godzilla"
The snake-like titan is probably Quezacoatal.
hecamefromthevoid LMAO no honey; Settle down.
dk Honestly, I was always more excited about KOTM than I was about GvK. And I will admit that I'm getting more nervous about the latter, especially considering all the newfound division over Mechagodzilla's inclusion.
hecamefromthevoid I'm 100% certain that Bagan will not be in this movie. As far as we know, Warner Bros. does not have the rights to him. They do, however have the rights to Mechagodzilla.
Besides, taking a look at the design, I'm fairly certain the new Titan is Titanus Quetzalcoatl.
And it won't be a two parter. They would have announced that by now. Either it's going to be a straight-up action popcorn thriller (which is what I think it'll be), or it'll be one of those three-hour jobs. But it won't be done in two parts.
Contains many useful information. Thank you! sekilli nick
hecamefromthevoid No wonder it got pushed to November. There could be two movies worth of material considering the extra titans. I am not feeling as confident in GvK as I used to.
This movie has to be done in two parts. Adding Mechagodzilla along with Godzilla and Kong is a telltale sign that a lot of action will/must occur which also calls for a deeper plot.
Not only that, they are adding a new titan which I whole heartedly believe is an attempt at giving long awaited screen time to the super kaiju Bagan. Bagan is on another playing field and is due the proper amount of screen time especially since all original film ideas for him were scrapped. That is why I say this movie has to be done in two parts.
Am I the only one who thinks that that weird bird/snake thing up in the corner of that one photo is Titanus Quetzalcoatl?
KingSalomonMMIV I meant that Kong would make the axe for himself. Like he'd get a slab of rock and ram it into a tree-trunk or something.
I still think the armor is a toy exclusive. Remember all the crazy hybrids that came out with Jurassic World's merchandise, and then almost none of them made any sort of appearance in the actual movie? I think the same principal applies here.

Yes, I also believe that they are just extra accessories simply because they are too incredible. Of course an axe wouldn't be the end of the world, but it just wouldn't fit in with the universe that has been created. Also, and I know I'm looking into this a bit much, but I think that Monarch would be a bit hopeful in believing that Kong would accept an axe they made for him, so it wouldn't really make sense. The same thing goes for an armoured Godzilla.
As for Mechagodzilla... I'm not too sure; but I'd have to see it in context.
OMG YES!!!! I'm so stoked even though it was kinda obvious MechaG would be in Gvk. Nonetheless I'm really excited and trying not to squeal in public.
KingSalomonMMIV Admittedly, I can kinda buy the axe, thing. Kong is a primate, after all, so who knows what kind of tool use he can work out.
I still feel like that and the Godzilla armor are just toyline exclusive stuff. But we'll see.
This new Mechagodzilla kinda reminds me of Kiryu... it also looks like if Dagon's skeleton got his arms and legs enlarged. I wonder if they used Dagon's skeleton as a base for MechaG? Pure speculation at this point, though.
@JurassicKaiju14
Yes, if Monarch got advanced enough to hold Godzilla down, dress him up in tacky red armor, and then give Kong a giant axe, that would be absolutely ridiculous.
I became a fan when I was about 4. I used to watch the original raymond burr version and then later as I got older, growing up around Washington DC, I'd watch them on channel 20 (anyone remember captain 20?). My best memory had to be back in the 70s when dad took me to see Godzilla vs the Mechagodzilla at the drive in. I hated the Matthew Broderick movie
What I'm wondering is why are Mechagodzilla's arms are so huge, it throws off the whole visual balance of the design. Unless he's an optional quadruped, that could be really cool actually.
JurassicKaiju14:
I think those are supposed to be his chest scars. They are also in that poster of Kong behind the toys, which does make me question my initial impression a bit though.
Jury's still out on what the armored Godzilla actually is, but the axe is definitely happening, and I don't see how it's too ridiculous. KSI showed that Kong uses materials around him as weapons, including a boat rotor on a chain as a flail if you recall. An axe isn't much a leap from that. Also someone here established that the aircraft carrier thing is mathematically feasible, I don't see that as particularly crazy.
Hey, wait a second...take a look at Kong down there. I mean is it me or does it look like he's wearing a bandolier like Chewbaca and carrying some kind of stone axe (and yes, I've seen a few other pictures, and it is indeed an axe).
Oh, please tell me this and the armored Godzilla won't be in the movie, because that'd look more ridiculous than the aircraft carrier thing...
KingSalomonMMIV I personally think that Goji and Kong are gonna get their fight out of the way, then they will reluctantly team up to fight Mechagodzilla.
Interesting. I'm really intrigued to see how this plays out. However, I hope this doesn't mean Godzilla and Kong will team up to defeat him. Yes, that would be very cool, but when the title of the movie is Godzilla vs. Kong and there is a tagline that says "One Will Fall," I feel that having a teamup would really be cheeting the audience. Nonetheless, I hope that Mechagodzilla still serves the plot of the movie and isn't just in it simply for fan service. Very excited!
HELL YES!!!!!!!!!! MechaGodzilla is back! I can't wait to see this movie even more now. Godzilla. Kong. MechaGodzilla. This is turning into a real royal rumble.
This is the design, as you can see.
It just happened to me right now. I mad a spelling mistake on the Godzilla vs Kong: Antagonist Monster leaked topic and it won't let me fix it.
Holy MechaGodzilla vs King Kong is this awesome!!!! I'm secretly praying and hoping that it will e the Mechagodzilla from RPO
Wow.... I have to say I'm somewhat excited. I hope it's executed the right way.
HOLY S*** YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
I knew this LOOOOONG before. But still, glad to see it confirmed.
Y'know, I was pretty skeptical about Mechagodzilla being in the MonsterVerse, but now that he's been confirmed...
HYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE!!!
On that note, I guarantee this'll be pretty controversial. I already know one...acquaintance, shall we say, over on YouTube who will be extremely unhappy to hear this news.
But me? I'm legitimately excited.
ZONE FIGHTE-
Just kidding.
More titans.
NOPE! Nopenopenopenopenope! Not gonna open myself to any potential spoilers! I'm gonna go into GvK as blind as I can possibly manage!
I can't see it due to school regulations and the computers don't let students access youtube on here. only the teachers can.
That would be cool.
