For giggles, I'll post some trivia from the second soundtrack challenge, which I cancelled a couple of years back:
Elite Question
What movie is it from?
Who is the composer?
What scene is it from?
@TheLazyFish
You can't take my word for it because I don't know for sure, but I have heard that Mechagodzilla has a pretty small role in the film.
Yes, when important plot points are revealed on the internet from movies such as GvK, it's very irritating. I remember about a year ago, this same situation happened with KotM when images of a toy of Burning Godzilla were leaked on this website. After things like that are spoiled, it's almost impossible to void to avoid them (unless you live under a rock for a few months). However, it was your choice to watch the leaked videos from KotM, and you can't blame WB because they were not forcing you or anyone to watch these clips. In fact, they were on the internet taking down these leaks like crazy. But yes, I do agree that people should keep spoilers to them selves unless they can discuss them on threads or platforms regarding the spoilers.
I agree so badly. I had the MechaG spoiled for me by a recommended video on youtube that appeared in my notifications. I wasn't going to watch it, but I already saw the thumbnail and title at that point, so it was already spoiled for me. I mean, WTF?!!! I actively made it so I wouldn't be notified from my main sources of Kaiju news in preparation for this movie, and then this comes up in my notifications?!!! So, I then checked my usual sources because at that point, what's the point? I already had MechaG spoiled. I was actively going to avoid the trailers, but now I know the huge twist. Fucking great. Still going to see it. I mean, you get to know the complete story by watching the movie , even if some of it is spoiled. It'll still be an enjoyable experience... but nowhere near as enjoyable THANKS TO THOSE FUCKING LEAKS. Seriously WB, get your shit together! How do you have so many leaks?!!!!!!
I love them both, but I feel like the first one really needs something to help make it stand out. That kinda also applies to the second one, but to a lesser extent. I like Gomi's drawings of the first, but I also agree they still need some more things to add. I suggest HUGE armored plates like on an Ankylosaurus to add to the first one's back, as well as some weird horns and spikes along the top of the head. Maybe put a bunch of quills on its back, or give it fishy scales or bird feathers? Maybe axolotl gills? A head crest, maybe similar to a Lambeosaurine Hadrosaur? I don't know, just throwing some stuff out there.
For the second one, I love the design, but the body and head kinda look a little bare. I just feel like a little something should be added there. Maybe the aforementioned Axolotl gills? Maybe make it so its mouth opens like a Sarcastic Fringehead (look it up if you have no idea what I'm talking about)? Maybe give it a dewlap like some lizards or birds, and make it big and blue like some lizards? Some kind of covering on the head, like a crest, spikes, horns, armor plating, etc? For the chest, maybe another one of those protruding bones you have on it? Maybe on the legs, add some sails that protrude along it, like old restorations of Amargasaurus or a Spinosaurus Sail? I don't know, just throwing out some weird ideas.
Don't mean to be critical, they look AWESOME. I just want to throw some ideas at ya.
Yeah. Though I prefer it when we all have different opinions, but all respectfully listen to one another. Those are the sweetest moments, in my opinion.
It's also hard to disagree when ALL the music is awesome XD.
It's absolutely incredible how we disagree and argue over the movies themselves and which ones we consider the best, but then we get to the music and all of a sudden we're all pretty much on the same page.
Moments of finding common ground like this always make me feel a little happier. :)
I don't care. Whatever it is, I'm ready to play it. But in my opinion, I think that the game could be like smash or Marvrel vs Capcom or Jump Force.
Dude, why Rodan? He's just napping in a volcano near Mt. Fuji. So he's fine.
Yeah. Blue Oyster Cult made it in 1977 and it's on their "Spectres"(1977) and "Don't Fear The Reaper: The Best Of Blue Oyster Cult" (Feb.8, 2000) albums.
I am in a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE minority in which I actively seek out spoilers. Why? Because I can't stand not knowing what happens. I had my friend spoil endgame to me because I wanted to know what happened to Thanos. I thought that if he died without me not knowing before hand, I would be pissed. Therefore, I had him tell me what happened in endgame. I knew that Mechagodzilla, and Kong having an axe would be in the movie WAY before the leaked images came out. But I still will be looking for any information because i'm concerned about Rodan. So...yeah.
That's why I think the Mechagodzilla from Ready Player One looks EXACTLY like Godzilla.
Gmkgoji "The snake-like titan is probably Quezacoatal."
I think it's actually a Skullcrawler.
What if GvK is how Kong becomes "King" Kong, because in the monsterverse, they only call him Kong instead of his full name.
Yeah. No one can make you do or feel anything. If you ever said " Because he or she made me mad" then that's not right because they didn't make you mad, you made the choice to have that emotion. It's your choices in life than either lead on the path of right or wrong. Wise words from my seventh/eighth grade teacher.
You have the option of not viewing the threads. If you see a spoiler, it is usually due to choice. Unfortunately some people blurt spoilers out unexpectedly so one needs to just look away.
I'm with this guy! I remember when someone spoiled the ending of Endgame for me.
I like the new version of "Godzilla" but the 1977 one is still one of my top 23 favorites.
Top'o the morning, amigos. i gotta say, my favorite soundtrack is the one from KOTM, which my parents got the cd for me for christmas.
Here are a few:
The original theme (any variation), Persecution of the Masses (Shin), The Beginning (98), and Godzilla! (14).
macumbalove,
Even if the movie sucks, usually the music is still fantastic. The Godzilla series has a pretty consistent record of great music. Even the few misfires are still pretty easy to listen to.
G.H. (Gman), This is bizarre, but your picks are almost identical to mine. Even if I find some of those movies to be meh, The music is incredible. One I would add to that is Destroy all monsters; the opening theme and the monster land theme I adore.
A picture is very beautiful and very strong, I really like the photos you share. shell shockers
The main theme sticks out with me since it seems to pop up in all the movies I have seen. It has both a foreboding tone and an inspirational sound to it.
Like many movies, I don't really notice the music much when watching a movie- and that is a compliment. The music helps fill out the over all experience. If I notice the music too much then that means I am getting bored with other aspects of the movie. Hopefully that makes sense.
So... I guess I can't really choose a "favorite." Also... the theme from Godzilla V.S. King Ghidorah is kick ass.
Oh God, this is going to be a LOOOOOOOOONG list.

JurassicKaiju14,
You have struck gold with one of my favorite topics and I don't even know how to start. As much of a fan as I am of the Godzilla series, my love for the music is almost a different animal altogether it's so strong.
I'm not sure if I could narrow down my favorites, but I usually default to Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, which was Ifukube's triumphant return--Coming out of retirement to bring some real gravitas to Godzilla and his arch enemy.
Others include, but are probably not limited to, Mothra vs. Godzilla - Akira Ifukube (1964), Monster Zero - Akira Ifukube (1965), Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla - Masaru Sato (1974), Terror of MechaGodzilla - Akira Ifukube (1975), Return of Godzilla - Reijiro Koroku (1984), Godzilla x Megaguirus - Michiru Oshima (2000), Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack - Koh Otani (2001) and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS - Michiru Oshima (2003).
I did an entire game/contest with the forum on this very topic a few years back.
Here is a list of my personal favorite favorite individual soundtracks (in no particular order):
Godzilla / Military March Theme (Gojira 1954)
Fury of Godzilla (Gojira 1954)
Prayer for Peace (Gojira 1954)
Sacred Springs (Mothra vs Godzilla)
Requiem (Godzilla vs Destroyah)
Who Will Know? (Shin Godzilla)
Godzilla! (Godzilla 2014)
The Wave (Godzilla 2014)
Old Rivals (Godzilla KotM)
Rodan (Godzilla KotM)
Mothra's Song (Godzilla KotM)
Battle in Boston (Godzilla KotM)
JurassicKaiju14 I agree that it should be the last MV series movie, but I suspect it will not feel final. Movies these days end with a possibility for continuation even if it is after the credits roll. Either way, I doubt either K or G will die- that would just anger and polarize the fan base too much.
Gomi: Ninja Monster "given his strange new zygodactyl claw hands, I strongly suspect this Mechagodzilla is going to be either a climber or an optional quadruped. Alternately, the bigger arms could be an attempt to combine the best aspects of Godzilla and Kong into one entity, making it the theoretical perfect kaiju-killer."
Good theory. In general, I see this Mechagodzilla as being more of a brawler than the distance-weapons focused Showa and Heisei versions, or the more balanced Kiryu.
dk "I hope it is at least as good as Skull Island and KOTM."
Same. I actually hope it's an improvement over KOTM, because as much as I enjoy the living daylights outta that one, I won't deny that there are some pretty big problems with it. Hopefully this extra time and alleged reshoots will give the studio time to perfect the film.
Although to be perfectly honest, it would not surprise me in the slightest if GvK is the grand finale of the MonsterVerse. Not even because of box office or reviews or anything; it just kind of makes sense, considering how K:SI and KOTM both seemed to be building up to it, and it's the last of the officially announced MV movies. I'd be fine with more movies in the MonsterVerse, but as time goes on, the more I think this is the last one in the MV lineup.
I got two Godzilla pop vinyls, which I have 99 and my goal is to get to 200. I got Detective Pikachu, which I gotta say, the giant Torterras reminded me of when Titanus Methuselah rose from the ground when he was awakened by Ghidorahs calls.
TheLazyFish Good point. Obviously, other Titans will be in the movie, but I hope it stays focused on Godzilla and Kong along with solid characters.
JurassicKaiju14 I would be fine with a popcorn flick as I am pretty sure both will survive and the franchise will continue. I hope it is at least as good as Skull Island and KOTM.
I've heard from other places that the toy is only a rough translation of the actual design, so the proportions could just simply be off. If not, and given his strange new zygodactyl claw hands, I strongly suspect this Mechagodzilla is going to be either a climber or an optional quadruped. Alternately, the bigger arms could be an attempt to combine the best aspects of Godzilla and Kong into one entity, making it the theoretical perfect kaiju-killer.
Gmkgoji "The snake-like titan is probably Quezacoatal."
Yeah, that's what I think too. Glad I'm not the only one.
TheLazyFish "I think the MechaG toy is possibly a misdirection, due to the odd proportions of its arms and legs. Think of the Chaos Effect toy line from Jurassic Park, most of those things never made an appearance in the franchise. Usually, when something has weird proportions, it doesn't make it into the movie. And just look at those arms!"
Hmmm...maybe. As for those robo-biceps of his, I imagine the unusual size is to give him a bigger advantage in melee combat.
