Yup, Hirata died in 1984, just months before The Return of Godzilla. His last Godzilla movie was Terror of MechaGodzilla. He only made two more films after that.
^Very much aimed at children and only children. These are kiddie movies to the extreme.
And as I mentioned before, Sony still owns the rights to all three films, but in the last 15 years, never got around to releasing the third movie on DVD. That might change in the near future, however.
Because the site was switching servers last night. My reply didn't make it during the switch either.
A lot of posts were lost last night-- which, for the most part, I'm celebrating about, but it's a shame good pieces of this conversation were left.
I'm goina come out and say it... people should stop complaining about this being a puzzel game for several reasons.
1. It's on mobile devices. Few action games have good controls or even end up being decent at all on mobile devices so this is a way around that- a Godzilla action game where Godzilla's movements and actions react to how well you are playing the puzzel game!
2. We don't have that many new puzzel games like this coming out anymore... but the big puzzel game titles have a good track record for quality. Let's look at some of them... Bejeweled series, Lumines for the PSP, Dr. Mario, Tetris. These are all GREAT puzzel games that received critical review, many of which are still played years later. If you want a lasting game that keeps you coming back this is a great way to do it.
3. Puzzel games are extremely accessible. No difficult to learn controls, simple competition between friends, easy to learn but hard to master concepts. They're a great way to get more people interested in the movie especially if the game is fun to play on it's own.
Honestly, I think it's a fantastic and creative idea! Most giant monster games have been of a single ilk. Here they're taking a creative leap and risk and, in my opinion, it looks to be one that will pay off! Don't put this down simply because it's a puzzel game people, give it a chance. At least let's wait till the reviews come out for it :)
The two new commercial posters have been added to the original post.
Whoa, I wasn't ready for that.
@Ananasatom- the red smoke is just from the HALO jumpers, like from the teaser trailer
What's up with the lack of spines near the head? Possible MUTO or military injury?
Oh Boy! A puzzle game......WEAK!!!!
everyone was bitching then, because it wasn't 2 months like it is now. It doesn't take a messiah to know the marketing will start ramping when release dates pick up, it's not really a "i told you so" it's common knowledge with movies, it's just some movies had EARLIER marketing then godzilla started and thats why they bitched
We have about 2 months left of marketing...
remeber when everyone was bitching at legendary becuase of the 'lack of marketing', i told you guys to be patient and look at what we hae had since the main trailer released
EPIC!!....wow they are really ramping up the marketing.....I don't think you'll hear anyone here complaining! Fantastic poster
i can't handle the amont of GODZILLA
This just keeps getting better and better!
Awesome this movie is going to kick ass! I bet it will be number 1 in box office when it comes out! Whhhooooo!
Awesome! My favourite poster so far! :D
I really want to know what the red smoke is....
Wow, that is so awesome. Great find.
It's real. I know this because I just bought it from the store Spencers yesterday and it is now hanging on my wall! It's awesome.
lionden you're in timeout!
i dont know, spines still look off to me, guess well have to wait n see
International Trailer.
Had way better shots and no "BWAAAHS" (i didn't include inception because that cliche was here long before inception).
I also quite liked the angelic choir.
too bad he's dead like most of the Gojira cast
An appearance from Akihiko Hirata would also be awesome!!
Perhaps Grimlock could do it... IF HE GOES EVEN FURTHER BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you get that reference, you're awesome :)
I personally have not seen the movies since I was probably 10 years old(17 now) but when I was a kid I highly enjoyed them. I can remember crying in the first one when mothra dies lol. I still own the first 2 on vhs, the 3rd one I only saw once on Sci-Fi, I always wanted it on vhs/DVD but I don't think it was ever released in america and my parents wouldn't buy a Japanese copy. I have a feeling if I watched them again(Which I will soon) I probably wouldn't like them as much though, as it seems they were mainmly geared towards kids.... Haha
yea my bad, I suspected that someone already did but I couldn't find it
This is awesome and all but they need to stop revealing so much with these trailers! I still want to be in a state of shock and awe when I see this movie, and I'm afraid that's never gonna happen with these trailers spoiling too much of the story. One trailer, HELL YEAH!!!!!! Second trailer, alright awesome but a third trailer? One is enough Legendary!!!
Bro, your way late on this one. Someone already made a topic on this about a day ago. It is also front page news on tthis website. This topic needs closing.
Hey what the hell? Why was my last post here deleted??
I dont think that any of these will air on TV.. Unless the trailers are played as part of a television show. They'll probably start putting out TV spots (30-60 seconds) in April.
the main trailer was the best one, also that '2nd international trailer' is not the 2nd one, it is the first one. the one you you think was the first one was never officially released by warner bros/ or any international godzilla page, while the new one was released by the official uk warner bros and godzilla youtube channel
early to mid April is my guess
Main trailer, it showed some history and better detail of the plot
there you go guys, sorry but the link up top doesnt work, sorry for the confusion
