The number of deaths will be unfathomable. The destruction will be nearing an apocalyptic level.
I have no idea really. Just musing.
I think hearing Devo's Monsterman would be cool. my reason? because i'm having something awesome being made right now by none other than Cleve Hall, AKA: Monsterman!
@Junkerde- I found that funnier than I think I should have. Thanks for making my day!
@Junkerde that picture is AWESOME!
smog monster godzilla, he'll just fly away
I think it's a fan art based on the Descrution Pack Toys and the trailers but yes it looks really nice!
I really like the designs of the MUTOs what we have seen so far.
that's made by dopepope, hes on this website. He should seriously consider doing the 2014 Godzilla

"webbed hands"..hmhmm sure
Love the topic SOMETHING REAL. If I had my way, virtually nothing would be left other than maybe Jessica Alba and myself. But realistically, to KAGE432's point, I think what's even more interesting is what changes to the environment will humanity have to endure in the aftermath of this fight. Between the radiation of Godzilla's breath and the MUTOs seem to have some sort of effect on electricity or the atmosphere. Hard to tell. They have done a great job keep the plot safe.
As far as death toll. I can see a million or so. Godzilla is going to show up in SF with a whole lot of people not being evacuated. If he uses his breath in the city then that could easily wipe out huge numbers from the aftermath alone. To earlier topics, there is some connection to nature these monsters have so the entire world could get a makeover. If this were only to happen for real!
Godzilla 2014 looks the most powerful to me, because he has armored skin,and he appears to be stronger than the most previous incarnations of godzilla in the past.
this is freaking awesome!
They're allowing Youtubers to reserve that set and film on it.
Max Borenstein did an interview talking about the film. It will be out later today. Thats the set for the interview.
the godzilla encounter?! are they bringing it back!? if so i have to get to it this time!
you know i remember seeing stuff about sushi there
I saw a similar post on the Gareth Edward's Godzilla Facebook page only that one said that the final trailer is coming soon with it.
It could be that. However, that photo looks like it was taken at the Godzilla Encounter held at last year's ComicCon. Maybe they will announce one for this year?
I know its probably perspective, but shouldnt you see his spines? Because of how big they are?
Could more footage be coming ?...
@godzillatheking
No Godzilla movie has EVER done well in the U.S., except the horrific Godzilla 1998. Most people find it cheesy to see monsters fighting each other.
Here is how I see it, and I quote myself;
"School can kiss my ass! I going to see this movie! I've waited a long time for this movie and I'm going to see it in Imax 3D. I don't care what I miss, I'll make it up. School is not a priority when compared to a new Godzilla movie."
I hope I used that semi-colon correctly.
In my defense, my argument was just my opinion. I believe that it is they are all the same creature. It may or may not be exactly true, but it is what I think.
@KINGKAIJUGOJIRA That's actually not true. In the Millenium series they actually say that the Godzilla from 1954 was different. Then again the millenium series had many different incarnations but it also further proves my point. Especially with GMK since that Godzilla was a mainfestation of world war II soldiers' souls. And in the Heisei series there is Godzilla Jr who is not Minilla since in final wars minilla came up next to Godzilla Jr.
Great find.
Fangoria's very first issue had Godzilla on the cover. Nice!
That is awesome. Great find.
This is some nice talent you got here.
Excellent.
I say all incarnations of Godzilla are the same. There is only one. Well techniacally three. The one who rampaged in 1954. The one who appeared in the sequel and we followed through the rest of the series (I also assumed he was the son of the 1954 Godzilla) and Minilla aka Godzilla Jr. I believe all the Godzilla's in the movies (except 1998) are the same being and is the one and only King of the Monsters.
To speculate that there may be a sequel to happen, I believe and hope, if Gareth Edwards is attached, that it will be along the lines of Monsters.
The world has been shaken by kaiju attacks, and must fight back somehow... And Godzilla is their answer.
I live in the Uk and so, Godzilla comes out on Exam Week for my GCSEs and so, I cant go on the 15th, when it releases. But I have no exams on the 16th and so, im staying off school to go see it with a group of friends, in 2D and 3D. Can't wait! :D
lol, the ykeep saying that they'll regenerate after 10 seconds and that the mecha titan (I think it's called) has ni weak spot on it's neck so it can't die?
RateDrex-
No.
You must have missed the fact that Toho made a whole series of Godzilla vs sequels. If they were all flops, why do you think Toho would have made any sequels?
There is a long list of kaijus that Godzilla can fight against, couple that with an interesting story and for sure it can work.
Therefore it is premature and pure speculation to say a sequel cannot work at this point.
@godzillatheking:
I remember after the movie "Jaws", there was a lot of clamoring for a sequel. In those days there weren't a lot of sequels. Steven Spielberg said if someone could come up with a legitimate story, he would do it. In fact Universal Studios intorduced a $10,000 contest for anyone who could come up with a viable story. Nobody won. But Universal went ahead with the sequel anyway, minus Spielberg. "Jaws" made money but the movie sucked. Godzilla would have the same problem. Do any of you really believe that watching Godzilla do battle with diiferent monsters would be interesting to the general public? Maybe a remake of King Kong vs Godzilla would spark interest, other than that I see a nothing but flops.
Thanks Chris, tho, I 'm starting to think the bottom jaw doesn't split like I have it. I guess, I'll have to see the movie and do a new one. : )
@Kage432- Hm. I'm glad you pointed that out. Please, send me a PM with more details.
@Durp004- I look forward to seeing your posts.
A good rule of thumb is 1.5X the budget domestic = more movies. you could get away with less (depending on over-seas, but it's unlikely), but that would almost make it a sure bet. So that means 225 million =almost a sure sequel (minus any leagal or other issues). At 60-70 million opening, it should end up in that territory. (movies tend to make just under 1/3 of their box office revinue in the first weekend, obviously, that is flexible, depending on reviews/word of mouth). Also, 60-70 million is a great opening weekend, it may not be up there with marvel movies or Harry potter, but it's nothing to be ashamed of.
@DEVIANTEIST - Sorry, this just occured to me. Are you treating this as an actual versus thread? If so, there a couple of rules you should set in the OP to prevent certain problems in the future of this thread from arising.
1. Godzilla vs Destroyah
2 Godzilla vs Biollante
3. Godzilla king of the Monsters
