So I was wondering, what if Mechagodzilla was created using alien technology?
During the scene where Madison, Bernie, and Josh enter the APEX facility you can hear an announcement stating "Maglev shuttle departure to Roswell, New Mexico". Why would APEX be going to Roswell? In 1947, a unknown flying object crashed in Roswell. Roswell Army Air Field initially described it as a "flying disc", before suddenly retracting the statement claiming that the object was nothing more than a weather balloon. The sudden change in story lead to the theory of a cover up, with some believing that the military had actually recovered the remains of an alien ship. One of the more "out there" conspiracy theories surrounding the Roswell incident centers around the idea that the government is reverse engineering the alien technology in order to advance their own weapons. The MonsterVerse has had a large focus on conspiracy theories and cover ups in the past, so the idea of the series taking inspiration from this conspiracy theory isn't too far fetched. It becomes even more likely when it's later revealed that Monarch has a secret base in Roswell, indicating that something out of the ordinary is there.
In fact most of APEX's technology is pretty out there when you think about it. So what if APEX is stealing and reverse engineering alien tech and using it to create their own? Sounds crazy, but as Walter Simmons stated earlier in the movie, "He loves crazy ideas, they made him rich".
