Sorry, for some reason the thing didn't work. I've got a friend that's working on the show. He's a producer. Says that they're going to make an announcement in the next month or two!

It's not going to be live action. He said that it'd be too expensive. So they're going to do it in.. YOU GUESSED IT! ANIMATION! :D

Yes. It's going to be a sort of "lead up" if you will. It'll be following Monarch,  mostly.

Just before the events of the second film.

IF this turns out to be true, it's about time. I read something by Matt Frank responding to an idea for IDW to collaborate with Cartoon Network to create an animated Godzilla TV series. Frank said that he was all for the idea and left it at that. I have speculated that since IDW has a close relationship with Cartoon Network that it might be a possibility, and since Matt Frank was willing to support the idea then it definitely wasn't out of the question. I'm not sure if the series will be based on the new movie or the IDW comics, but then again there is no confirmation that this is true yet.

It's totally cool if you're skeptical. I get it. I really do. I wouldn't believe something like this if I were hearing about it from a complete stranger on the internet in a forum either. At any rate, I just thought it'd give everyone something to look forward to in the coming months.

I'm only skeptical because there is no source at this point. I think it is a great idea, and very possible in light of the fact that Godzilla's popularity is the highest it has been in years and that a Pacific Rim animated series is on the way. I really do hope it's legit.

Is this an official thing or is it a fan-made youtube series? I'm confused!

I'm not sure on the specifics. Just a friend of mine is a producer. He hasn't told me much other than to expect an announcement in the next couple of months, and that it's centered around Monarch.

Secondly, not cool man. If you're trolling that's uncool, and if you're leaking this info that's uncool, too. He told you this in confidence, now it's leaked. He even knows exactly who to blame, too.

I don't have any actual proof. I didn't record our conversation. It's not like he told me over a text message or email. It was at a bar, face to face interaction. And when you're out drinking, you don't tend to record your conversations. Or at least, I don't. :p

I'm sorry for not being able to conjur up any sort of proof. I would if I could. I mean, if you think there's a way I can prove that it happened. Please, tell me. I'll certainly try.

Naturally, i am extremely skeptical, but if this turns out to be true, i will die and come back 7 times in a row, God i hope this is true, it would be nice to have something to hold us over till Godzilla 2.

Okay, now im gonna "pretend/assume/believe" its actually right;

Will it be like...A kids show? Or one of those way too serious anime-things? Thats one of the few reasons im not very interested in the idea.  

I wouldnt want it too for kids, that just doesnt seem right. But at the same time, i wouldnt want it too be like "Insert almost any anime here" and be all gory and way too serious.

As a rule of thumb, when a member starts raving of an upcoming movie, TV series, video game, book...etc... without any sort of proof, I don't believe it.

Nothing personal, but without an announcement, a hint from Legendary/Toho, anything, this is nothing but a wild fan wish. I'll believe when it when an official source comes out with something. Until then, it's not happening as far as I'm concerned.

That being said, threads like these tend to go out of control due to lack of proof. Keep things civil, guys. If you want to speculate about a possible future series, go ahead.

Im sorry but I believe your just trolling. For a start you have no proof, and you also state that the show comes out in a couple of months based after the events of the second film. The second filming cmoing out in four years! Im not sure if you mean G14 but I doubt there will be an animated TV show of him as it would be a little silly and could end up with godzooki and stuff like that. I caught you red handed my friend, however if it does become true ill send you an apology.

I'm seeing no news or proof of this. Whether you're lying or not, it's most likely false.

However, a show like this would be interesting to see. It could be like Ultra Q. :)

Well, we clearly don't know if there's any credence to this idea. However, judging from the guy himself........ I'd say this has a bit more honesty to it than the lack of hard online proof implies. However, as always, we will take this with a grain of salt until later confirmed or denied officially.

-On page two you say that I said that it takes place AFTER the events of the second film. I could have sworn I entered "BEFORE". And why would I have proof? Yes, it's inconvenient, but because of the missing proof, I don't expect anyone to take me at my word. I just thought I'd let you guys know. I don't really see how you "caught" me. It's okay that you think I'm "trolling" because of the lack of proof, but because you're speculating that it might have Godzooki or some shit like that? You're "calling me out" because you're scared of a possibility of a bit of camp? oooookaaaay then.

-page two you ask if it's going to be a kid show. I honestly don't know. Like I've said before, I don't know much beyond it going to be animated show, centered around Monarch after the events of the first movie (and before the second), and that my friend is one of the producers.

Page 2 reply: I never claimed to have proof. :p My friend, one of the producers, told me about this during a conversation at a bar. Yeah, I'm definitely going to be recording everything he says there, because that's normal. I fail to see how you "caught me red handed" because of the possibility of something like Godzooki and the possibility of a bit of camp. I really don't see how that means anything at all. But if you want to believe I'm trolling, that's perfectly fine. I know that I've got no evidence, or proof of any kind, so I don't expect you to just take me at my word.

Forgive me if I have no confidence in a random who claims to have connections to Producers working in (or who know people in) Legendary. The last person to claim such connections was the site creator of this website, Chris Picard, who claimed to have had it on good informatoin that the two 4 second clips leading up to the release of the second official Godzilla 2014 movie trailer that they were legit becuase he had a "source with ties to Legendary."

The two clips were confirmed fake less than 24 hours after they went up despite Chris's claims, and as far as I know he made no public apology to the community here for his bad information and bs connection that didn't pan out.

So again, forgive me if I do not believe a single word you say at the moment about having connections.

Okay I miss read a little bit, and I apolagise for that but I just doubt that this will happen at all because yes it will only be a little bit of camp. But that "little bit" if it turns out to be a little will just completely wash away all what the first film achived in the fighting. I loved the realistic clawing, stomping and bighting Godzilla and Muto's did too eachother and to have Godzilla bellyflop on some weirdly designed creature would be a little silly compared to the movie.

Again, this guy sounds like he's a good guy, regardless of whether or not his information and claim is true. We can't completely rule out the possibility, but also can't completely accept it either. We wait and see if Legendary brings this news to light officially. Until then, we discuss the idea, entertain it even if it might not happen, but don't get all "finger-pointy" at each other. No berating ideas, only constructive criticism.

No unnecessary language, and no direct or indirect insults and/or finger-pointing. The past is the past, and now we have a new future to look forward too. Logan, please forgive the community for some of the more outspoken members here. They desperately crave credibility if someone is claiming something official as big as what you have claimed.

Now, may we ALL move on and entertain the possibility of the idea, as well as the approach and/or possible suggestions of professional and/or personal preference?
