Personally I think yes. Bring back to oxygen destroyer

Nah.

If he's gonna die, it shouldn't be humanity. It should be like what he did with the Mutos, sacrifice his own health to kill a giant monster that all but killed him.

Considering Toho told Legendary they can't kill him... (At least that's the word down the grape vine.)

Not in the 2nd movie but maybe a man-made monster like Hedorah or Biollante could kill Godzilla but a Godzilla jr is found or was known about and the governments of the world decide to keep it alive by putting it on a "monster island" and give it radiation until it can live underwater.

With all due respect, why this obsession to kill Godzilla???

He most NOT die! He is an unstoppable force of nature, a symbol of balance and even protection of Earth.

That is why the end of Final Wars is so good, he returned in peace after cleaning the world. And with humanity in ruins, he simple doesn’t want to fight anymore with them.

So, NO, Godzilla most not die.

I say humanity should anger Godzilla causing him to start wrecking stuff. They would try stuff like missiles and nukes and stuff but in the end they would be forced to make an oxygen destroyer. A sad death yet just like the original.

Um @Guategojira Godzilla isn't the protector of Earth. At the moment he is just an animal. The reason we want him to die is because it's tradition. You can't end the series without killing him. Except Final Wars.

Off-Topic:

I seriously don't understand how people can complain of the "lack of Godzilla" in the reboot and still say Final Wars is one of their fav Godzilla films.

I think it's because Final Wars filled it's none Godzillla scenes with power ranger fights and air battles. That and the scenes godzilla's in are him brutally murdering a monster he comes across rather than swimming in the ocean accompanied by battle ships. I think it I was 5 when final wars came out the nostalgia alone would still make it one of my favorite film as all of the film aspects above are what any 5 year old godzilla fan would love. As a semi older fan though I can't say Final Wars is better than G14 in any aspect.

As for the main topic I don't really care if they kill him off, as it's always a really well done tension filled scene watching him go. Even falling into the volcano is 84 was done well and you find out later he survived.

I don't really think Godzilla should die. If he does, it shouldn't be from humanity.

Depends on several things.

1. How do we not know that the teasers were first glimpses of the trilogy? Why do i say this? Well the reason being is because that protrayed godzilla as the ultimate force of nature and what we got was a good side of the force of nature. If anything my hopes for the third film is that they have godzilla become the real terror like the 1954 film. But seeing how they got the rights to some monsters i think this is out of the question

2. Why have the king die? Like gman2887 said toho said they can't kill him. :)

So Nah for me right now although the best film being the 1954 film that is the monster had to die. :/

GMAN2887: The final of "Final Wars" is good. If you don't like happy endings, then it is your problem. But that end is good, Godzilla return in peace with the little one and although humanity most reconstruc everything, they learn that they are not the top of the creation.

Mecha Rodan: The only series that ended with Godzilla's death was the Hesei, the Sowa Godzilla did not die. The original Godzilla died, in fact, but the new Legendary Godzilla is not tied to it and is a completelly diferent animal. In fact, he looks more like the Sowa one, from my point of view. By the way, when I say "Protector of Earth", I say it because he restored the balance, so in a way, he IS the protector of Earth, although not in the form that you think it. In future, this point will be very well stablished, believe me.

InstinctiveGigan: I hope that your words are not for me, because in ANY moment I have complained aboth the screen time of Godzilla, ok? I have defended the 2014 movie in several moments. And by the way, I ONLY said that I liked the final of Final Wars, I NEVER said that this movie was one of the best. My favorite of the originals is "Godzilla vs Destoroyah", that is for sure.

Finally, I sustain my words, Godzilla most NOT die.

I'm gonna say it's a big fat maybe. The only way I would like to see Godzilla die is if a second Godzilla is found and they have to fight. I'm not saying one is evil, I'm saying that the balance of nature is all sorts of messed up when there are two Godzillas so they fight to the death with either one losing or they both lose causing humanity to have to deal with these creatures in some other way. Then end with the body of Godzilla in the ocean seemingly dead and all you get is one heart beat then cut to black. I think that could be a good send off to Legendary's Godzilla if done right but I highly doubt it would actually happen.

^Should there be a godzilla film with actually two godzilla's i don't think they will fight each other, i think they would get together and make friends or if one is male and the other female then they would multiply. :)

No. It just seems cheap. The way i see it, end the series epicly. And no other Godzillas, i have always hated the concept of more than one Godzilla. But thats just my opinion.

GuateGojira,
I'd describe the ending to Final Wars as many things: Contrived, overwrought, baffling, hilarious, Gorgo rip-off... but to each their own. "Good" isn't a word used to describe many aspects of Final Wars in general.

@gman

just wondering, what part of final wars is a Gorgo rip-off? I haven't seen ether movie in ages so I might just be missing something.

for the OP, no, they should not. If they are going to keep the force of nature alogory, then he should always win, just like nature will always win.
