too bad that he had been killed off in the first movie. He replied by saying that you "didn't necessarily see his face when the zipper went up." That he was just,"saying this." Just think, Joe Brody might survive to see Godzilla 2 and 3! This is crazy, but what do you think? Post your predictions or other findings! He was a character that brought a signifigant amount of emotion to the movie, so I would like to see him come back.

FAI NATHANIEL - That is an incredibly fascinating find! I must say that I'm uncertain of what to think of Cranston's statement - we were strongly led to believe that Joe Brody died from the immense trauma he sustained when the Male MUTO emerged at the Janjira facility. That being said, this is still a very compelling piece of information. Thank you ever so much for bringing this to us! :)

I was shocked when I heard him say it. It was quite suprising!

I don't know. Maybe to trick people for the later movies, but at this point it is all speculation. However, those were HIS words.

i guess your right there. it would be an interesting twist to show that he is indeed alive for whatever reason. maybe ford sees him in a nightmare or something in the next movie.

GODZILLA HIMSELFJune 01, 2014
i suppose that its possible that monarch may have faked his death so that they could use him to further their research 24 7, i mean he did figure things out that monarch didnt after even 15 years.
king of the monsters

Another valid point. But what I want to know is where he will fall in the story. That is one possibility, but maybe he also had knowledge of the monster Godzilla was going to fight after the Mutos in the sequel. Who knows. We need as many theories as possible to compile a valid one together

In an interview Bryan Cranston said that Godzilla was a real asshole to work with and was always super pissed off in his trailer, and he also said that he was the motion capture and voice actor for Godzilla.
The man is a jokester. If any of you take take his comments as literal truth, then I've got some wonderful beach front property I'd like to sell you.

I understand why they killed off his character. It makes the audience think that anyone can go at anytime, even if it was in a "See! I've been right all these years!!! ...& now I'm dead."
But this is the opportunity that they missed, which burns me. Joe Brody would have developed a deep seeded hatred to the monsters, Godzilla included, for the death of his wife. He would've worked magnificently side by side with Dr. Serizawa, & ultimately come to the realization that mankind needs a Godzilla. Not to mention firmly patch things up with Ford, which would've helped make Ford's character more likeable in the end.
I so wish they did this instead, since doing anything else, now after his 'apparent' death, would ultimately be silly.

I also love the concept of Monarch, which barely had any time to develop in this installment. I could see a shady group like them keep Joe Brody all to themselves to work on secret monster stuff, but that would be too comic booky. Besides, did just average American soldeirs stick the female Muto pod in 'storage' 15 years ago, or was it the American branch of Monarch, or was it another secretive group altogether? & what for? To study? To use as a weapon? What? Nothing was mentioned, except that she was kept in a kaiju Area 51, where she woke up cranky & broke out.
For that matter, you're telling me that the American government is just gonna let Godzilla swim out to sea after wrecking San Fran & not track him to see where he goes, where he sleeps, even if he lives alone??? & will there be G sympathisers among the American public who wish the US government left Godzilla alone?
Wow. So many questions. So many possibilities the story could go.

what if he faked his death to work with monarch? Or the us government branch dedicated to kaiju?

ManolisspaikJune 02, 2014
He is alive and will create a mechagodzilla cause of his hatred towards Godzilla. That will be the sequel hopefully.... seems legit....

The interview literally just happened over the weekend, so I can't find it on the internet yet.

Why would he fake his death? Who would want him dead? The MUTOs were already exposed. Does he not love his son and his grandson? The still-alive thing would be extremely stupid and it wouldn't do anything for box-office. In my opinion, even if they begged him, Bryan Cranston wouldn't be caught dead (no pun intended) doing another Godzilla movie.
BTW, Cranston also hinted at a possible continuation of "Breaking Bad". So maybe he just likes to f--k with us.

Nope. Not going to happen. Chapter 12 of the Offical Movie Novelization states that Joe Brody's body was commited to the deep. This means Bryan Cranston will not repraise his role in "Godzilla 2." Once your body has been buried at sea, you'r notcoming back. We will propably get this scene in a Extended Director's Cut version of the film when it comes out on DVD.
