Hello! I saw the new Godzilla 2014 movie twice and I have been puzzled with this scene:

gd

The thing is that if you seen the movie, you know that the 8 legged muto is in this scene. The 8 legged muto attacks the train with all the missiles. While the 8 legged muto was attacking the train, giant spickes out of nowhere come and ripp the railroad in half. What spikes were these? There was no sign of Godzilla being in the scene neither the Mutos. Who do these "spickes" belong to?

I don't think that's a spike. I think that is actually the MUTO's arm. This scene also had me a bit confused. I always thought that was Godzilla's spike when I saw it in the trailer...

I really don't get this scene. It does look like an arm, but the way it moves is nothing similar to an arm.

@GODZILLA2014RULES, sure. I saw it twice and can't really find the answer. I will see it tomorrow, so I'll see if I resolve it once and for all.

G-FAN2000 - Perhaps the object that is ripping through the bridge is a section of the female MUTO's head. Of course, that seems like a bit of a stretch to me. Regardless, that is an excellent question you've asked! I'm going to do some homework and hopefully come to a definitive conclusion. Thank you for bringing this up! :)

@KINDOFZOMBIES, it does look like an arm, but here are the problems

1. The 8 legged muto was attacking the train which was in the far distance from the soldiers

2. The way it moved didn't look like that of an arm
