" It is better to be reviled than ignored, agleast then you know your spreading good in this world."
ya I saw that after a minute, still on high after watching the trailer.
" It is better to be reviled than ignored, agleast then you know your spreading good in this world."
also, common people! garreth said this is going to be the biggest G yet, 350 ft is F*cking tiny!
I Believe In Harvey Dent
I know and it's like everyone forgot that Marvel's Godzilla was 150 meter's tall and holds the record of biggest Godzila to date ever made by TOHO.
" It is better to be reviled than ignored, agleast then you know your spreading good in this world."
I mean, are you kidding me? This Godzilla is everything he ever needed to be. xD

And look at all these that show how huge he is.
" It is better to be reviled than ignored, agleast then you know your spreading good in this world."
Believe it or not he is to scale with those destroyers at 350 ft, and i am sure Edwards and his crew were very sure to size him consistently.
I really think every1 is underestimating 350 feet.
Thats like a walking football field but bigger.
I don't get why people can't seem to understand that Godzilla's apparent size in various shots throughout the movie will almost certainly not be accurate or completely consistent. That wasn't just a problem with GINO, even G54 made him look bigger than he should be in some shots so that he would be more imposing, and this is obviously why he seems so ludicrously huge in some shots. I'm pretty sure that, if he was even close to as big as he looks in the shot of him at the Castle Bravo crater, no building in the world would come close to his height.
Those trees are deceptively small, about 15-20 ft tall. Now that ive looked closer at it you can clearly see the bomb on its stand, the bomb being aprox. 10 ft long.
you guys do realize that the article kind of just assumed 350 ft right? think about it, all the other info was from quotes, but not the 350 ft thing. the way they said it along with the fact that its such a perfectly rounded number makes me think that they were just generalizing godzillas size. remember, of you just round up from 332(godzillas biggest height in the movies so far) then you get 350. besides, if this movie is going with realism, then why wouldnt godzillas height be more random sounding, like 572 or 368 or something like that?
king of the monsters
Special effects flicks always trip themselves up on physics, y'know? Whether 350' or 550', if a skyscraper sprouted legs and simply WALKED past you on the street, it would crater every street, possibly down to subway-level, and the concussion of each footfat would shatter both your legs AND your eardrums. Just sayin'.
In 'Jurassic Park', Spielberg played with the 'ground vibration/cup of coffee thing, then promptly abandoned it, right?
In the much-maligned 'Godzilla 1998', Emmerich announced the monster's presence in lower New York by a loud THUMP that rocked every car on the street and set off their car-alarms, then promptly abandoned it.
That kind of stuff grates on MY inner film-geek...
guys godzilla is 250 meters tall or 820 feet deal with it i am glad they made godzilla this huge why?
1. several people here said that 700-800 feet is laughable- is it now? no
2. 1961 mothra's debut had a wingspan of 250 meters- dont believe me look it up on the toho monster bios.
3.godzilla is a force of nature that can not be stopped meaning his name means a wrath of god himself

BIGBADBEN, no offense but if godzilla was 820 feet tall that would make him roughly 1600 feet long head to tail. At that size the spikes on his back would be larger than the boats he is swimming under, and being that close to the coast he would beach himself. Mothra's wingspan has nothing to do with this Godzilla. And just because he is a force of nature does not mean he should be as tall as the tallest building in San Francisco. Edwards himself said this godzilla is only a 'hair' larger than the largest which is 100m in the movies, and 150m in marvel comics. 250m is not a 'hair' larger than either of those.
Lol, the movie is going to come out....and 90% of Godzilla's screentime, Godzilla is going to be shorter than many of the buildings in the skyline.
But there's gonna be one or two shots where Godzilla's size is somehow exagerrated or not to scale......
And then there are STILL gonna be people saying crap like "SEE Godzilla was 700-1000 feet tall!!! Even in the movie!!!"
It's inevitable. You won't be able to convince them to see reason. You might want to save your breath.
Yeah, because a group of angry nerds on the internet shouting their opinion-is-fact logic is more reliable than an interview with the visual effects guys who are working on the film--
I believe it.
#eyeroll.
Well, as many of you have said, the actual 350ft figure really doesn't matter as much as how large he looks in various scenes, which unfortunatly won't be scaled correctly or consistently.
That being said, he is considerably larger than this figure in pratically every scene shown so far. In a two scenes in particular, he is shown as being much larger than 350ft.
Furthermore, just adding as little as 25ft to the height changes the overall mass if the creature exponentially.
Some of the numbers I have seen thrown out (800ft) are over the top, but if the trailers are attempting to demonstrate accurate size, he far exceeds 350ft.
VALKORIN - Your guess on what type of carrier that is was entirely wrong. Just watch the trailer again and you'll see humans running across the deck. that carrier is, at most, about 80' wide. Those humans running are clearly visible and fairly large relatively speaking to the ship itself. That carrier is nowhere close to 270' wide.
However, those details, while accurate, are ultimately useless because the size debate was ended by Legendary themselves by releasing a size chart of Godzilla in teh new Empire Magazine which finalizes the size at 350' in height.
Also, you're looking at Godzilla's length, not his height. Yes, he's going to be more than 350' LONG, but he's 350 HIGH, period, end of story.
So yeah, your analysis was flawed to begin with, but the final verdict was provided by Legendary themselves in the magazine. His standing height is 350'.
