After seeing the trailer, I can happily say I was beyond satisfied. The tone, the score, the Godzilla! Everything about this trailer rocks!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 6:23 PMFinally, the website works. I absolutely LOVED the trailer. I love that it started with a long and intense shot. It's actually a long take for a trailer opening, but the risk comes with reward as that silluoute is the perfect introduction to the size and power of this Godzilla. Character reaction shots were rather redundant but 'amazed' and 'terrified' can only be done so many ways and surely is more prominent than any other reaction. Devestation looks intense,
and
oh yes
SKREEONK! The roar is superb.
I then watched the trailer to Ikifube's score. Gave me goosebumps. The King of the Monsters has returned.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 12:56 AMWell its college finals week for me, but as a die hard Godzilla fan, I ended up going to my class an hour and 40 minutes late because I couldn't stop watching that awe inspiring, and "inner giddy child" provoking trailer that manifested from the magical mind of Gareth. Thank you for bringing back my favorite childhood icon, and for shitting on that 1998 giant raptor movie that was a huge embarrassment, with the trailer alone.

this all leads me to...
1 King kong is shitting his pants right now
2 Feels like Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) falls in love with Juilet Binoche's Charector and Brian Craston will be Ogata from the original Godzilla movie the 1954

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 11:40 AMHey everyone! When that comic con trailer was leaked a few months ago, I was able to download it before Warner Bros could take it down, just so I could keep watching it. When the official trailer was released yesterday, I absolutely loved it. The trailer in itself has nothing wrong with it but I still thought it would be cool to combine the leaked trailer with the official one. There are elements to both trailers that I really like. I played around with a bunch of different combinations in my editing program and I really like what I created. Let me know what you guys think! Did I accidently ruin both trailers? Or did the trailer work? Comment!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 1:07 PMI bet this is Japan's reaction to the new godzilla trailer
then of course you got some of the people that hate the trailer, so this is for them:
I for one am digging the trailer BUT I think prefer the comic con leak trailer than this one but that's just me

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 9:10 PMThe trailer was in a word...Awesome! It did what a trailer is supposed to do. Tease the audience , keep the mystery and create interest. Well it did that in spades. I noticed that the tiny flare falling past Godzilla's head though distant, was falling fast. I think the highest that a chute can open safely depending on the body mass of the person falling once reaching terminal velocity is a min of 1000 ft. These soldiers are still falling past Godzilla and have not deployed thier chutes. If that is the case than Godzilla's height at minimum 1000ft. Anything above that and he is looking eye to eye with the current world's super skyscrapers and that is just fine with me.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 11:10 PMA beautful, well made trailer. Bravo Mr. Edwards. You made me shed man-tears. I love the HALO drop idea. A megadisaster engulfs a city. Nobody knows whats going on. All our high tech not working. Only way to know is to put boots on the ground. Insert specops from altitude. Watch through their eyes as the situation reveals itself. BAM! Godzilla... I wouldn't blame them if they forgot to pull their chutes.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-12-2013 8:50 AMFinally!
Well worth the wait! I now have no doubt that Gareth Edwards has made a serious, high-quality movie about the most famous monster of all time. This trailer is fantastic, from the eerie ambient music ("2001") to the great camera shots of the Halo-jumping soldiers. The smoky, dust-cloud atmosphere is perfect; gives it a surreal atmosphere that is totally appropriate for the tone of this movie. From the beginning, I was excited by Edward's decision to do this film in a dark, realistic way: what would people do and react like if such an impossible thing actually happened? I've waited forever to see a movie that took this approach, and put realistic human drama into it, and just by what I've seen in the trailer, it seems that he's done just that 8)...

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-12-2013 10:18 PMSeems to be multiple threads on here and elsewhere pointing to a similarity between this enemy monster and Desotroyah.. interesting because while Desotroyah was an intruiging enemy, it was one of the most dissapointing Godzilla battles in all the films... despite the fact it should have been one of the greatest. Maybe Gareth Edwards sees this film as a chance to correct that.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-13-2013 3:19 AMI have been watching Godzilla movies since I saw the original as a kid in the 60's and I have the complete set of all the Godzilla movies ever made except the one Hollywood trashed in 1998. I hope they bring back the old with the new and make it a Great Movie! The trailer looks great!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 8:11 PMIf you watch the soldiers, as they dive through the clouds, the lightening creates
a silohuette of the Godzilla eye from the 70's classics. It's in the dead center, and was nothing but a brilliant touch.
As they fall through the clouds, watch for the final flash. It's bitchen.
Yeah, I geeked out again and again and again, and pause, and rewind and all that that we are allowed to do, and the trailer is just awesome!
It's at the 48 second mark.
