After seeing the trailer, I can happily say I was beyond satisfied. The tone, the score, the Godzilla! Everything about this trailer rocks!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 11:16 AMChris so you think the trailer will be released on youtube at first or on the M.U.T.O site?

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 11:57 AMThe above pic should have been posted elsewhere.. Not sure how it ended up here. I tried to remove it and the site kicked me out and I keep getting SQL error messages. LOL.
I am sorry... :(

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 12:47 PMPretty much what I thought based on the info we've seen so far.
limited shots of big G; just enough to tease you.
Looks like SF got nuked, but G survived.
The muto creature(s) could be Destroyer-esque - maybe soldiers and a queen.
My guess is the sink holes are hive openings.
Just a guestimate.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 12:49 PMOK...That was.....just...AWESOME!!! The trailer is so nice its so dark... it's THE REAL GODZILLA! He looks so big and scary! I like how they used scenes from the Teaser Trailer but with better quality and a bit changed things! Godzilla is such big! Bigger than a skyscraper! In the scene when they fall out and you see the view of the soldier... I was really...really scared of Big G! Thanks Gareth for that amazing Trailer!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 12:53 PMThis trailer is amazing, the wait was well worth it. I'm so excited for this movie that i'm gonna watch Desolation of Smaug and leave after the trailer is over. Godzilla takes all priorities over any movie I will watch from now on.
LONG LIVE THE KING OF MONSTERS!

AdminGodzillaDec-10-2013 12:56 PMAbsolutely wonderful trailer.
The mood was perfect. Very horrific feeling. There's a sense of dread evoked through the entire thing.
It's also fairly original in that it doesn't show over-the-top money shots, it has very simple and horror-inspired background music (no Inception horn for a change) and doesn't rely on a lot of flash.
It's really the perfect teaser and it shows that WB/Legendary aren't simply playing the marketing game here. They're giving this movie its own identity.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 1:07 PMOh yes this is most diffiently going to scare people when they see this trailer for the first time. Excellently well done, and it has got me stoked for the movie. I can hardly wait for it. But if I get a chance to see the desolation of smaug I will be able to see the trailer again I hope.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 1:36 PMAs one who has been very critical of information, both on this site and off, as well as being skeptical of many things both past and recent, I'm so happy to finally be able to relax and say that Godzilla is well and truly on his way!
The trailer was absolutely beautiful!
A dark, brooding piece with plenty of silent tension and heart pounding dread evoked in every frame. You really get a sense of the terror and confusion going through the minds of the actors on screen, and when Godzilla is viewed through the eyes of Ford during the halo jump, you can really get the first true sense of his size and the sheer mass of the creature as a whole. I can't say how big he will be with any definitive numbers, but he is without a doubt as Edwards stated the tallest Godzilla to date.
The use of the 2012 teaser was pretty clever, and the roar has changed slightly with more of a guttural trail off. The increase in picth at the end was kind of odd to hear at first, but after listening to it a few times it seems to fit the monster quite well.
Again, having been a skeptic and one who has been critical of much information presented both on this site and off, being able to see this trailer has finally put my mind at ease and now I can truly relax as I know that the true Godzilla is on his way to theaters next May! I can hardly contain my excitement and anticipation for this film!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 2:29 PMIt was creppy and good, like the '54 Godzilla, but I hated all that clouds and smoke in it. If the movie scenes where the monsters are shown are full of it, i'll be desapointed.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 2:58 PMMy guess for all the covering smoke doubles as a extra layer of showing the devestation of the city, and the fact Gareth and Co. haven't truly finished cleaing up on vfx.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 3:15 PMAfter doing some research trying to figure out how big this Godzilla will be, I have come up with a number that is shocking. When the paratrooper is looking at Godzilla you can see the top of what I believe is the Bank of America building on 555 California Street. That building is 778 feet tall(237 m). The largest japanese godzilla was 100 meters. This new one is more than double that size!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 3:43 PMMakes sense now when guillermo del toro said there was only one monument that the godzilla team asked about GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 4:27 PMMy reaction: Impressed at the budget, but I was (even though I expected it) disappointed that they still choose CGI for the creature effects. Japan went more than 50 years making Godzilla movies with suits, all the way up until 2004 and it looked fantastic. However when the US get hold of it they have to use CG and we ended up getting that monstrosity of a 'remake' in 1998. Seriously I think that Hollywood should maybe reconsider the visual effects side when it comes to making movies. Plus we haven't even got a good look at the beast yet, who knows it could look absolutely terrible. This is just my opinion though and I will support it all the way.

MemberGiganDec-10-2013 4:35 PMI thought the trailer looked stunning & felt very creepy! The soundtrack reminded me of Gerry Goldsmith's atmospheric Alien score.
As for the King of Monsters himself.......WOW, I'm impressed!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-10-2013 5:21 PMDid anyone else see the scene where MUTO employees open a vault that should have held a monster, but instead there was a hole dug in the ceiling by the escaped monster? I'm pretty sure that the people who are running away in the scene after the paratroopers segment are running from the escaped MUTO-made monster. Bryan is running the opposite way, towards the monster. When the door closes, I think the terrified woman is sealed in quarantine with the escaped monster.
That's just my interpretation, though. If that's true, this will be a dark movie, much like a kaiju film should be. Even if it isn't as good as the trailer lets on (it's a great trailer), let's be honest, the movie is gonna kick some major ass. I can't wait!
