I was just remembering that the 1977 Marvel Gojira battled (eventually all at once)...the Avengers; Fantastic Four; and all of S.H.I.E.L.D. So, any chance in the future our True American Godzilla would battle the modern day versions of these groups?

As I remember hearing from the 1977-1979 comics with this crossover, the groups (not to mention the city) were spared because an ordinary human boy was able to convince Gojira to stop the attack. Not sure how or why this worked though (never read the comics).

It doesn't matter what the story is or was, because you'd never get Marvel Studios to make an agreement with Legendary/Warner Brothers/Toho to make such a dumb idea. Not to mention it would be inconsistent with the tone and feel of the new movie. It'd be like crossing over [i]Agents of SHIELD[/i] with [i]Law & Order[/i]. Wouldn't happen for hundreds of reasons.
