Think back, way back to when you saw your first Godzilla movie. What made you a fan of Godzilla initially? Was it the look of Godzilla himself? Was it the story? What made you a fan? Let us know by replying below!

The way I became a godzilla fan was because one day I was playing my tablet and saw a godzilla movie and immediately thought I have to watch this godzilla movie. That is why I became a huge godzilla fan.

I remember since a young age watching godzilla the series on netflix when it was on there. The giant monster fights were amazing, and having that feeling of seeing a giant unstoppable lizard king. After that i had an old godzilla movie marathon to get to know the true history of the king of the monsters. I am excited for Gareth Edwards to continue and keep this amazing franchise going.

^Gareth Edwards isn't part of it anymore, brother.

I enjoy the screams of the helpless people as they stare up at the force of nature that they can not stop.

Hi there! I’ve been a Godzilla fan since I was four years old. I loved dinosaurs as a tyke, so my parents got me a Godzilla tape from somewhere, and it’s been a lifelong relationship ever since. My very first movie was Godzilla vs Gigan, and I used to be afraid of the giant cockroaches! I still have my first Godzilla toy from K-Mart.

OMGodzilla, I was very lucky and was there at the beginning of 2 awesome movie franchises, Godzilla and James Bond.  I was 5 in 1962 and saw Godzilla fight King Kong.  I had seen the original King Kong movie along with the first 2 Godzilla films prior that.  I grew up as a big fan of the Godzilla and had the thrill of being an Atlanta Extra filming on The King Of The Monsters due out May 31st.  I met Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga and we shot on a huge outdoor set all night long.

Atlanta Extra,
What days were you there? Was it the Norcross street scene?

Saturday movies on TV from late 60's on...I watched all the giant monster movies, and loved 'em all.  But Godzilla...truly the king of them all.  And now my entire family loves him.  Such a huge geek-pride feeling when I took my oldest to see Godzilla 2000 at the theaters :)

Been a G fan all my life! Excited for King of the monsters and Godzilla Vs. Kong and can't wait to see if the Monsterverse continues. Hopefully, Toho lets them if the movies do well and maybe they could even join in on the creative front and help out!

I was born in the mid 70s and the first toy I ever remember owning was the Shogun Godzilla with the launching fist. My dad was and still is a big fan. Now I am passing down the love of Godzilla to my boy.

First movie I actually saw was Shin Godzilla back in 2017... dunno why it took me so long to watch one, I absolutely love dinos since I was a kid, and from there started to like giant monsters, of course I'd love Kaiju movies!

Big lizard with atomic breath? Love at first movie! Especially with Kamata-kun in there!

Hi ever since I was old enough to remember I was watching Godzilla movies.  I loved it, so cool seeing these guys battle it out. As a kid I took it all seriously and hated when Godzilla would lose even if he was the "bad guy" in the movie. Now as an adult having these movies come out is so cool, I'm hoping for more after kong. And maybe some Mecha King Ghidorah.

I became a fan as a little guy back when NBC had the Hanna-Barbra's Godzilla power hour cartoon around 1079-80 ish time frame. 2 years later I went to Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla in the theater. I was hooked when I saw it.

I think my first exposure to Godzilla was the Blue Oyster Cult song, as strange as that sounds. I just remember listening to it as a kid and wanting to know more about the creature that the song was about. Then one day, at a local Blockbuster, I found a copy of Godzilla 1985 on VHS and asked my mother to rent it for me. Came home and watched it and I have loved Godzilla ever since. I still remember my mother trying to tell me how Godzilla was "mean and a bad guy" but I didn't care lol After that, I would try to find more tapes at the video store, but there wasn't a whole lot to choose from. TNT's Monstervision helped though as they had a marathon of Godzilla films and I tried taping them all on video. Now I'm just trying to collect as many of the DVDs and BluRays as I can.

Hmm...The earliest memory I can recall is playing with a '98 Zilla figure from a bin at the senior center my sister worked at, I must have been 3 of 4 at the time. A couple years later I got one of those big Imperial Godzilla toys from a cousin, and finally my first movie was Godzilla Vs. The Smog Monster, which I caught on TV one Sunday afternoon. As an avid dinosaur enthusiast practically since birth, Godzilla was the natural evolution of that fascination with giant reptiles, and so I was hooked. For years after that all the media I had was the Gamecube game and whatever G-flicks my brother would borrow from the library, but I latched on to those with a passion and spent hours pouring over any information I could find. Finally a couple years ago I found a little site called Wikizilla, and there was no going back.

I guess just the fact that they were giant monsters was what attracted me in the first place. The idea that a monstrous-looking dinosaur could be the hero instead of the villain was a dream come true for me, and the more I learned about Godzilla the more I grew to adore the other aspects of the franchise as well. The MonsterVerse is in every respect the culmination of my years of being a diehard fan, and I couldn't be happier I stuck with the franchise as long as I have.

When I was young, my world was extremely limited. I was afraid of a lot of things, things that would scare me would become my nightmare for years to come. I hated the things in this world that serve no purpose but to give good scares and high thrills. I hated things that would destroy mankind's place in this world, because I believed we didn't deserve it. I hated giant monsters. I hated Godzilla.

I avoided watching anything Godzilla related throughout my childhood; giant monsters, unstoppable killing machines, unbeatable plagues (or a combination of the three). I loved watching Jurassic park and it's sequels, at least the animals were smaller. (the raptor ambushing the hunter was not my favourite part). It became clear that I would never acknowledge Godzilla ever in my life, that I would never encounter the big G and what he stood for in American and Japanese audiences. But something changed.

Cloverfield. This movie captivated me the first time I watched it back in 2010, 2 years after it was released. It was the first time I watched a found footage film and it immediately caught my attention towards its style and its tone. The monster scenes still scared me as I still did not like monsters destroying mankind and its cities. As the film progressed, I felt more sympathetic to the characters and their struggle to find the main character's lover in a city besieged, reminiscent of the 9/11 attacks. As the military was trying to stop the monster with rifles, tanks, artillery and airstrikes, I never thought I would have these feelings as I was watching a monster movie: the sheer amount of joy. Humanity was not allowing the creature to destroy their city without a fight. I felt a sense of pride for my fellow man, even if it was still futile. That day I changed my view on monster movies, I wanted a sequel that gave me that same joy I had while watching it. I was hungering for more.

I had to wait 4 more years before I can satiate my Kaiju action. I heard there was a new kaiju movie that would return a cultural icon back from hibernation. It sounded promising.

Godzilla was finally introduced to me when I was 17. It was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Ever since then I watched the Heisei and Millenium movies. Godzilla X Mechagodzilla is without a doubt my favourite from the millenium era, as well as its sequel and GMK. My love for the Big G became a passion, a near obsession. I was a Goji fan. I waited patiently for 5 years for King of the Monsters, watching and rewatching Godzilla 2014 over and over again until my brain memorised each of the characters and the roars and sounds of the monsters. It was absolutely worth all the wait.
