Skull Island will return us to the fantastical lost world, the prehistoric paradise last seen in Peter Jackson's King Kong remake. However, this new movie will bear no relation to aforementioned movie, and may not even star the gigantic ape that made the mysterious isle famous. What we do know is that the movie, now sharing the same release date as Marvel Studios Doctor Strange, will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and will star British actor and star of Thor and the Avengers; Tom Hiddleston in an as-of-yet undisclosed role. However it has been reported that the first draft of the script written by Godzilla scribe Max Borenstein is to be re-written by Academy Award nominated screenwriter John Gatins (Flight).

Although it doesn't mean the script is bad, as re-writes are the norm for any film, considering Borenstein's record so far it makes me hope his first draft for Godzilla 2 will be re-written by someone more talented.
