The Monarch timeline chronicles all major events documented throughout the course of the Monsterverse cinematic universe. This article details and connects important dates between the Godzilla and Kong movies, and the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters TV series. As new movies and series are released, this article gets updated with the latest events.
1943 – USS Lawton Destoyed
The Fletcher Class Destroyer USS Lawton was sank after being attacked by the Ion Dragon Titan. Over 1,000 men died during the attack, leaving William (Bill) Randa as the sole survivor. This encounter with the Ion Dragon prompted him to initially join the Monarch organization – led by Dr. Ishiro Serizawa and Dr. Vivienne Graham.

1944 – Kong's first appearance
During the second World War, an American and Japanese fighter pilot crash land on an uncharted island and proceed to continue their combat on land. During their fight, Kong emerges from the edge of a cliff, forcing the two soldiers to stop fighting.
1952 – Ion Dragon Discovered
Nearly a decade after it attacked the USS Lawton, the Ion Dragon is later discovered on a Phillipine Island, along with a partially preserved wreckage of the USS Lawton by Bill Randa, Keiko Miura and Lee Shaw. It is during this time both Keiko and Lee also join the Monarch organization.
1954 – Operation Castle Bravo prompts emergence of Godzilla
By 1954, during the Castle Bravo Nuclear test (Directive 27) Titanus Gojira (Godzilla) makes his first appearance. This prompts the U.S. government to prioritize funding for the Monarch organization.

1973 - Skull Island Expedition
By 1973 near the end of the Vietnam War, Bill Randa leads a Monarch expedition to the uncharted Skull Island. Kong, Skullcrawlers and other Titans are discovered and documented. Bill Randa meets his demise while on this mission.

1984 – Red Monarch
As of September 10th, 1984 Monarch embark on a risky mission behind enemy lines within Russian territory. The goal of the mission was to stop the USSR from awakening a new Titan they had planned to unleash on America. The mission was led by Lee Shaw.
1999 – Godzilla-like Skeleton Discovered, Janjira Event
In 1999, Monarch excavated a massive Godzilla-like skeleton buried in the Philippines. Within the bones of this deceased Titan, Monarch discovered parasitic spores which eventually hatched into what were later referred to as MUTOs. Following this discovery, the hatched MUTO parasites found their way to the Janjira Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, causing a catastrophe which led to the death of Sandra Brody and the destruction of the plant. Monarch quarantined the facility as and monitored the MUTO as it grew and developed, feeding off of the plants' Nuclear material.
2001 – Mothra in New York
On April 16th, 2001 Monarch documented an event where Titanus Mosura (Mothra) was spotted in New York. Specific events of this sighting remain classified.
2014 – G-Day Event
15 years after the Janjira Event, the male Hokmuto (MUTO) emerged from its cocoon. This prompted the resurgence of Godzilla. Godzilla emerged to hunt down and destroy the parasitic MUTOs before they could procreate and infest the world.

Following G-Day the world became aware of the existence of Titans and Monarch were no longer considered a secret organization.

2015 – Legacy of Monsters
The first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters explores events followed the infamous G-Day. Cate Randa, granddaughter of Bill Randa, investigated clues of her family's ties to the mysterious Monarch organization.
2016 – Outpost 32 / Ghidorah Discovery
In 2016 Monarch became aware of the existence of Ghidorah – a massive extraterrestrial Titan frozen in the ice of Antarctica. As a result, Monarch set up an outpost (32) to monitor and study Ghidorah.
2017 – Titan X / Axis Mundi event
Two years after the events of the first season of Legacy of Monsters, Cate Randa accessed the Axis Mundi from Skull Island in an attempt to rescue Lee Shaw who remained trapped there following the events of season 1. She was successful in rescuing Lee but also set free Titan X – a mysterious and massive new aquatic Titan.

2019 – Ghidorah Emerges, Global Titan Conflict
5 years after G-Day, terrorist organizations awakened a dormant Ghidorah, frozen in the ice of Antarctica. Ghidorah's awakening prompted the emergence of a number of other dormant Titans across the world as Godzilla and Ghidorah fought for global dominance.

Godzilla ended up defeating Ghidorah and re-established himself as King of the Monsters with all other Titans submitting to his authority.

2024 – Godzilla faces Kong
5 years after the release of Ghidorah, Apex Cybernetics created a massive mechanical Titan – Mechagodzilla, powered by a fragment of Ghidorah's recovered brain matter. This triggered another response by Godzilla, who then went on a rampage in search for the remaining signature of Ghidorah.

At the same time, Monarch were transporting Kong from Skull Island, which also got the attention of Godzilla. The conflict escalates, leading to a massive fight between Godzilla and Kong before the two Titans teamed up to defeat Mechagodzilla.

During this time Kong discovered the Hollow Earth and remnants of his ancestors and the great war between Kong's and Godzilla's species. This is also where Kong found his Axe.
2027 – The New Empire, Skar King & Shimo conflict
Three years after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, set in the distant future, Kong discovers a new realm within the Hollow Earth. Here, he discovers a preserved society of his own species, led by an antagonistic primate Titan known as the Skar King. The Skar King utilizes an ancient Ice Titan, Gojira relative known as Shimo and controls her with a unique crystal.

During this time, Godzilla defeats Titamat and absorbs her energy, transforming Godzilla to an evolved (pink) version. This Evolved Godzilla joins Kong as they team up again to defeat Skar King and free Shimo from his control.
???? – SpaceGodzilla Threat
In the future, a cosmic force in the form of SpaceGodzilla threatens the entire world. Godzilla and Kong must once again find a way to prevent the destruction of their respective realms by defeating this new enemy.
