KingKaijuGojira have some faith in our Lord Ghidorah. I never seen him burn a tree, just vehicles and buildings that grow Hedorahs. I suspect Mars was wiped out for pollution related crimes that would attract and grow Hedorah demons. All these names to demonize Ghidorah were given by those who know nothing of Dragons or Gods for he is both. Mothra messed up the Dragon force in 64. Rodan should eat that bug for that!
Even though I adore Godzilla, I side with Mothra!
I'm hoping Legendary will reach out to other Tokusastsu film industries as well. Maybe get some more Gamera movies finally.

He would rule with an iron fist. He probably would wipe out any sort of competition or opposition. He would have fun doing so, and would definitely enjoy extinguishing humanity without a second thought. He would not punish after all has been done, he would just kill the opposition.
Honestly, I think he's about as thin as you can make him without him looking a little off.
This Godzilla is specifically designed to be a bit chubby in order to convey a sense of immense size and strength. Godzilla's more of a chubby strongman than an athletic weight-lifter.
When I watched the movie the second time and truly was able to watch his progression it was honestly depressing. There he is a creature created from our own failure to disperse radioactive material responsibily, a one of kind a new beginning to his species. A being whom is truly miss understood and is beginning to evolve and gain consciousness with every evolution. Everybody looks at him and sees fear incarnate but there is truly so much more there, because that is what we created fear, misunderstanding, and a true monster itself.

I have to agree with you on this. I do think he could go on a diet or workout plan. I wished he looked a bit more rugged, like battle scars or something.

Mostly talking about Godzilla himself but you can say why you like the movie as well!
2014 Godzilla was really more animalistic than previous ones in the past. Say Godzilla from "Return of Godzilla" that one I believe was kind of like the one we have now where it was simply looked at as a more creature than the A-Typical Godzilla that is all friendly and looks out for people.
Also Shin-Gojira is another example of Godzilla being animalistic with just more messed up concepts that we are use to. They pushed the boundary on that movie and truly wanted to look at him more as a creature created by our own ignorance. A creature who's only instinct is that of survival and evolving to satisfy it's current needs. It truly had the ability to evolve into something that is nightmarish which I would love to see.
All in all I do love the new Godzilla and am interested to see how he acts in this movie..

I think my problem is that I’ve hardwired myself to think that a modern Godzilla movie is “bad” if Godzilla isn’t “scary”, but I still consider Godzilla 2014 a good movie, it’s just a personal bias I need to get over.
I am going to assume you are talking about the movie. I enjoy the social commentary on bureaucracy. I also enjoy it showing humans coming together and working against a threat. Plus, it has some good classic music.
As for Shin Godzilla the monster, I think it is a nice design. The story of its creation and mutation is interesting.
In the context of a watcher, he's not scary, just really damn cool.
We lack contextual scenes to showcase more personal horror associated with his appearances. Also, because he's more naturalistic in design, he comes off more like a genuine creature than some nightmare.
As well, overall, the bracket has been pushed for what counts as "scary" and "horrifying" nowadays. The reason Shin Godzilla is often cited as quite horrifying is because he's pushed the bracket farther than other incarnations of the character out of necessity in a modern viewing context.
They should bring back the games, but not only make it for one console.
I wanna see this movie 3 times in one day... even if I have to drink NOS and sneak food in my shorts.
If TOHO cannot see how big of a mistake it would be to just pull the plug because of right's expiring in 2020... I mean... DAMN... Ghidorah looks so bad @$$.

Godzilla himself or the movie?
But within context of the 2014 film and what we've seen of the new movie, is there any reason to consider him scary?
In both cases he's been set up as a protagonist to the extent characters in the first movie were cheering for him as he left for sea. I like Legendary Godzilla's personality, but I don't think there's anything about him particularly "scary".

Uh, Tiamatzilla, you know Ghidorah is the Devil right? The King of Terror, the Planet Killer, the Golden Demise, the Death Song of Three Storms, all names he has been called over the years throughout the varuous incarnations. Ghidorah goes from one inhabited planet to the next, wiping out all life for pleasure. King Ghidorah is a living extinction event. The only good incarnation was the weakling from GMK. Godzilla, Mothra and Battra are more likely to be destroying factories to stop Hedorah. Meanwhile, Hedorah probably follows in Ghidorah's wake, feeding off the smoke and ashes of the worlds Ghidorah kills. Ghidorah, God of the Void, wants to return all to the void. But life will now be extinguished so easily. And Godzilla will not let Ghidorah have his way. They will never join forces. Godzilla and King Ghidorah will forever be mortal enemies. And yes, Ghidorah looks 100 times better than in The Planet Eater

Yeah, it's really neat that they have each of Ghidorah's heads their own personality and their own look.

King of kings and Lord of lords! Praise holy Christ Ghidorah! Godzilla please join the Dragon force. I know the humans are your pets but our indestructible God Ghidorah just wants to fight Hedorah by blasting the factories to shit with gravity death day beams. Our mighty Dragon Lord has been on this intergalactic quest to destroy all Hedorah since pollution existed long ago in a galaxy far away. What a divine Dragon God! Praise our holy King Ghidorah! Hallelujah!! Amen!

You know, with this image, we can clearly see the differences between heads.
The left head has straighter horns, the right head has more curved horns, and the middle head has the most ornate curved horns along with 2 rows of spikes running down its neck instead of 1.
