My issue with them is that they were introduced with no actual plan of expanding on the idea. The concept of a humanoid Godzilla army could be interesting for a sequel, but because there isn't going to be a sequel, their appearance ends up feeling pointless. It's like the end of GMK when they show Godzilla's beating heart at the bottom of the ocean, hinting that he will regenerate and return, only to completely ignore that idea and continuity in following film. What's the point of introducing ideas like this if they're not going to be used? What's the point of setting up a sequel, only to not make one? Because of this, their existence feels more like a cheap twist that's only there for shock value. It's almost as if the filmmakers are saying "Hey you want to see what happens next? Well Too Bad! You don't deserve answers!" If they made a sequel that included them I wouldn't have a problem, but because they won't, it comes off as wasted potential.

Aaron-Taylor Johnson did better in his extended cameo in Tenet and as Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

I just didn't feel very convinced by his acting.

I worked in the plot, and Ford and Godzilla reflected each other. That’s why I avoid the negatives when I go into a movie, to see it and find the usually more abundant positives. 

And the second act. It’s not bad. The Muto sequence is great, on the train, and them finding the the muto gone from the nuclear waste container. The military planning is great and realistic, and people give ford a hard time for not emoting, but that’s because they expect a character to be mopey. If you watch the scenes where he’s happy you can see the talent the actor has.

Ishiro Seriwaza was great but the other G'14 characters sucked

and tbh I don't CARE about Joe.

He's fine, but wasted.  In fact, when he died the movie went quickly downhill from there.

SarcasticGoji now that you mentioned it, I miss Serizawa.

Speaking of Madison, she could also have made more scenes. I also don't recall the Kong supporters meeting the Godzilla ones. Sure they were all in Hong Kong after the Mechagodzilla fight, but I never saw them greet each other or anything.

The characters from G14 are far better than GvK. Where did Serizawa and Joe Brody, and Othere come from

Yeah, but keep in mind that my "script" featured a lot of Madison (even though it was more about her self-reflection than anything else).

Yeah I guess. One would think we would get even stories from both sides though.

Yeah....except now we're getting a Kong sequel soooo they should've had equal billing....

my take on it

I mentioned this a while ago, but I feel like Godzilla could have been shown more throughout the movie besides the fights and the facility attack. I thought they would show his side of the journey, like Kong journeying through the hollow earth. But that's just my thought.

I like GvK, but I admit the characters  aren’t that good

Very cool, definitely an improvement over the original (Though as I’ve said before, the bar was very low to begin with). I really like how you added more to Ren’s story as it was very needed and how you gave Alan Jonah a role! Also really appreciate how you removed Bernie & Josh’s role from the movie as though the actors did fine, their whole side story was probably the weakest part of the movie. Nice work!

On Mothra I thought about the whole concept art thing but for some reason I hate Josh.  Waste of a good actor...

Yeah, Ren definitely needed fleshing out and we got none.

People on this website sometimes seem confused when I bring up certain lines in movies. I guess I just hear them more.
