Which Godzilla movie you hated the most?
There are none that I hate, But there A LOT and I mean A LOT that are overrated in my opinion: 1)Mothra vs Godzilla 2)GMK 3)Shin Godzilla 4) Godzilla vs Destroyah 5) Tokyo S.O.S. are my top 5.
Guys, did you read my first comment,i just want answers, what was my best topic,i know im bad at topics, but i just want to know your opinions on them.
Kamoebas V6: I cant keep them all straight cause their are too many threads on this forum sorry. But I do like this one.
Angering the Godzilla fan base one take at a time
Space Godzilla was probably the worst but I wouldn't call it bad- it was just so far fetched for a Godzilla movie imo.
Xenotaris Giant creatures coming from the ocean depths or flying around causing destruction is one thing, but coming from outer space is just beyond the pale :D
DK: I mean aren't bad and worse synonyms?
Also far fetch for a Godzilla movie? I mean with giant monsters (Kaiju genre), aliens (The ghidorahs, the xiliens, and the other human aliens), mix-match hybrids (Kaiju genre), and living gods abound (King Caesar and Mothra), how is Space Godzilla far fetch for a godzilla movie? He is an alien, mix-match hybrid, and a godlike giant monster.
Seems to me Space Godzilla fits right at home in that verse.
well anyways, the thing I disliked about Godzilla vs King Ghidorah was a number of creative Uh-ohs.
1. Mecha-Ghidorah's design was hideous. Its like they wanted to do a mechagodzilla treat for ghidorah but gave up half-way through.
2. That awkward Android chase scene. Brain Bleach will never get that out of my head.
3. The unnecessary need to make American troops dumb, regardless of your opinion about the country that is just a low brow thing to do.
4. The need to have one of the troops being related to Steven Spielberg and his commanding officer being able to see the future that his son will make a dinosaur movie.
5. The Time Travel plot doesn't make any sense.
Also I might have to replace Godzilla vs King Ghidorah with Shin Godzilla as the worst (in my honest opinion) godzilla movie. Like geeze try better at imitating americans for your american character or hire a Japanese American actress to play the part!
Xenotaris,
Japanese speaking audiences (who were the target audience) likely didn't notice how bad her English was. In any case, Ishihara was still nominated for best actress for the film.
This reminds me of the character Gus from Breaking Bad. In America the actor was highly praised for his performance as a clean cut, Latino drug lord. In Mexico, however, he was heavily criticized for his accent and acting.
Perspective is key. Breaking Bad was made for us, not Mexico. Just like Shin Godzilla was made for the Japanese, not America.
Additionally, she's hardly the first actor in the series with poor English: King Kong vs. Godzilla, War of the Gargantuas, The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Gamera 2: The advent of Legion, Godzilla: Final Wars... I'm sure I could go on.
I know that its meant for a Japanese audience but even if I were Japanese I think it would still have broken my suspension of disbelief. Especially if she wanted to be president of the United States
The English parts in Shin Godzilla always were cringy to me
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.
Xenotaris,
The Japanese didn't complain. Gus didn't seem to break American audience's suspicion of belief in Breaking Bad. I highly doubt you would've known better.
Gmkgoji,
Biollante's was much worse.
Hey G-H man, you are not me! Also Breaking Bad sucks.
Shin Godzilla, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, and the anime trilogy are the worse Godzilla movies ever made.
