Hulu Godzilla

1998 was a fun monster movie. Just not a good Godzilla movie. if they named "Zilla" something else, it would be still a great monster movie! I do enjoy it, it has a place alongside my other Godzilla and giant monster movies.

But other than that dk, you are all over the board and I don't think that takes away from the over all experience of the films. I watched them all out of order as a kid and I still had fun.

Godzilla movie or not I think the 1998 film is only excellent at utilizing every bad cliche that killed 1990s blockbusters. As a Godzilla movie (which is what it's suppose to be) it's contemptuous and insulting. As a monster movie it's barely par for the course. As a blockbuster film, it's the proverbial nail in the coffin for the 1990s--Just a wretched movie through and through.

then you would love Rifftrax taking a shot at it! I saw them do it live and it was stellar!

I know I requested proper order of watching but it didn't happen. That said, I watched a couple more and offer some opinions.

Mecha 1- I liked it more than Mecha 2 since it offered how Mecha came to be and why. It was the first Zilla movie I saw that I wanted the actual Godzilla to lose since he just seemed to be a destructive dick in this movie.

Final Wars- Purists may disagree and that is ok. Oh my! This was a shameless and glorious mishmash battle of several creatures! It felt like The Matrix for almost half the movie but I actually cared about the characters. Acting was quite good and they spared almost no expense to find actors to stand in for Reeves, Fishburne or Jessie Ventura lol! The story was pretty good and ended well. I thoroughly enjoyed and will probably watch again.
