I just thought it would be cool. yeah toho also kicked MST3K around for putting out Godzilla vs Megalon on one of there box sets and then they were "recalled" only so many went out into circulation. I don't know if there will ever come out with the episode featuring Godzilla vs The Sea Monster on one of there dvd box sets. I get, Godzilla is Toho's baby. Copyright can be a pain.

So, where do you guys think this thing falls in the timeline?

Because I'm pretty sure this thing is kind of an anomaly in the current timeline.

Is the director trying to bring back The Oxygen Destroyer? Is it Dr. Serizawa's design, from G14? Is that why they chose that name for his character?

I don't know how I feel about that. Is there any answers to this?

How is that an anomaly? It’s not specified when that is used or even if it’s a major plot point in the film. Mike never implied any date, let alone conflict with the current set timeline...

It's just some fancy word dressing, Gowhaletours.

But why would he just simply tease that? He knows what the OD means to G fans. Its not like he teased a stupid sword or gun, he teased that. that has a lot of depth to that.

As the age of the atom bomb dawns, Monarch, a multinational coalition of scientists leading covert missions to understanding of M.U.T.O.S. authorized unofficially and overseen by General Macarthur, (   ) flotilla under the guise of "Nuclear (    ) weapons across the Bikini Atoll in they were not test. They were trying to kill it.

General Macarthur being included in the MonsterVerse officially includes Godzilla Awakening as canon. Especially when they use 1946 as the start of Monarch like the book says and now Skull Island movie. Plus the idea that Godzilla has awaken throughout the years like the book says and end credit scene in Skull Island. 

Monarch Timeline

1915- Splitting The Atom

Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity ultimately leads to the splitting of the atom and the dawn of the Atomic Age.This epoch-defining stage in human evolution will act as a beacon that awakens ancient superspecies sustained by nuclear energy.

1943- The U.S.S. Lawton Incident

(         ), making him the the only survivor. haunted by the memory of that day, Randa will go onto become one of Monarch's foremost operatives, searching for the truth behind the ancient creatures that exist beneath the surface of our world.

1946- Monach Founded

In the aftermath and cover-up of the U.S.S Lawton  incident, President Truman unofficially establishes "Monarch Unit", a small off-book research team established to engage in the systematic study of "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms". Privately, many of Truman's allies question the validity of the group's theories and work to keep their existence secret.

1952- The Great Smog of London

Baffling meteorologists and defying atmospheric physics, this unexplained weather phenomenon saw London's streets overwhelmed by huge clouds of air-polluting smoke. Monarch theorizes that the beating wings of a giant creature could have created an anticyclone that unleashed airborne pollutants across the city.

1954 Monarch Goes Global

1973- Mission: Skull

Monarch surreptitiously partners with LANDSAT and the 1st Aviation Brigade, 3rd Assault Helicopter Company to mount an expedition to the mythical "Skull Island" in an uncharted corner of the South Pacific. Encountering the God-Like superspecies known as Kong, they soon discover that mankind does not belong here.

1991- Isla De Mona

A covert Monarch team establishes a quarantine zone around the island's dormant volcano. Under the guise of "Environmental Research". Over the coming years, what began as a small scientific outpost will expand to become a full containment facility around the mouth of the volcano.

1995- Return to Skull Island

Monarch security officer Aaron Brooks defies his father Houston Brooks and leads an off-the-books mission to Skull Island, to determine what has become of Kong since the1973 expedition.

1999- Janjira Meltdown

Following and explosive disaster (    ) power-plant, Monarch establishes (    ) zone outside of Tokyo. What the  (    ) that Janjira Q-Zone is in (           ) established around a dormant M.U.T.O.

2005- A Mysterious Mercenary

Former British army colonel and MI-6 agent Jonah Alan is locked up in Pakistani prison after an encounter with Monarch agents. Alan and his band of mercenary accomplices were caught trying to breach the walls of a subterranean M.U.T.O dig-site.

2009- Temple of the Moth

Mythographic studies of Chinese temples leads Monarch to the high-altitude jungles of the Yunnan Province. Dr. Emma Russell and her team follow a mysterious bio-acoustic signature to a previously undiscovered megalithic temple. Within which lies a gigantic cocoon. A quickening heartbeat is detected inside.

2012- Message in a Bottle

Days before retirement, Monarch veteran Houston Brooks receives a coded message from his son. The mission to Skull Island has revealed dramatic new information about Kong's origins, and his role on the island.

2013 ??????

2014- The Battle of San Francisco

The existence of giant superspecies is revealed to the world as Godzilla clashes with two M.U.T.O.s in the center of San Francisco. Unleashing devastation upon the urban center, the world watches as Godzilla defends our world and restores balance to the natural order. The time has come for Monarch to step out of the shadows.

2016- Monster Zero

When Monarch discover an extraordinary superspecies sealed beneath the Antarctic ice sheet, Dr. Vivienne Graham leads the effort to build a covert containment and research facility around the dormant creature. Her classified field notes contain a mysterious footnote: "The Devil has three heads".

That smog wasn't Mothra. The smog was in 1952 and Mothra was discovered in a cocoon in 2009. It shows that prior to 2009, Mothra was either in a cocoon or in her larval stage.

That doesn't mean Mothra wasn't responsible. It could be 2009 larvae's mother. An earlier generation of Mothra possibly.

But if your right, the only other winged MUTO's that we know of that have wings are either Rodan or King Ghidorah. The male muto's don't fit the timeline.

I have one theory as to who the Siberian monster could be. The fact that it was conveniently discovered right after the first nuclear weapon was used (and ultimately failed this time) to kill Godzilla in this continuity (1959) in an icy environment, with the directors of the next two movies Tweeting these images (the first of which is common knowledge around the interwebs):

leads me to believe it very well could be Destoroyah! Maybe it's the inner Dessy fanboy in me, but I find it hard to believe they'd Tweet these images with this "suspicious" choice of time and location for one of the unknown kaiju in the Monarch timeline if they weren't planning on using him unless it was an epic trolljob, in which case, well f'ing played. He sounds like the perfect kaiju to band the two monsters together if they do plan on having Godzilla and Kong team up to stop a greater threat as well.

Hmmm. I don't know what it is, but something about the timeline doesn't seem right. I really don't know but here's what I think does fit with the timeline:"Footage from U.S.S Scorpion submarine revealed(monsters)the and the Hollow Earth ruins predate all known human civilizations show ancient humans worshipped Titans. Forming symbolic relationships with some. Others scavenged fallen Titans for food, building structures from bones and hides. Massive horns(weapons) were created to replicate their calls. Called some of the creatures gods, The Old Ones, or Dragons. Every culture including worshipped their own Titan. Tribes built homes near benevolent Titan nests to protect against more hostile creatures. Evidence shows may have been developed telepathic communication with the creatures-coexistence. Attempted to control them, to use them for warfare. Some Titans rebelled against and their human masters. The massive cataclysm destroyed this advanced civilization. Triggered a war between man and monster. And other survivors scattered across the globe, forming colonies. They knew about the Titans way back when Brooks and San show Conrad and Weaver the cave paintings of Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah, and Godzilla fighting Ghidorah. They knew about their existence before the Skull Island incident.
