Gojira 2014
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-19-2014 8:53 AMNow I have been reading lots and lots of speculation threads for the new Godzilla sequel. And each and every thread is missing something, a sense of realism. Sure its cute and all to put on our little kiddy pants from our child hood and enjoy everything we loved about the king of the monster...but.....when it comes down to specualtion we need to think a little bit more realistic. For example, I was just done reading a thread on what king ghidorah's orgin should be and all of them were the smae "make him a space monster" or "make him born from a meteorite". I mean C'mon guys we can think bigger than this. Gareth once said in an interview that godzilla 2014 and future films will be made for everyone, not just Gfans. So in that case, we have to make sacrifices. Ghidorah being a space monster in these next films just isn't going to cut it especially in this type of godzilla universe were its so grounded. Can we be upset that he wasn't a space monster, sure I guess. But just remember that Gareth Edwards Godzilla 2014 and following sequels arn't going to please the masters. All I ask is that we be a little bit more logical as to how these future toho monsters will fit into this universe. Now just to let you know this was not intended as a threat even if it may have looked like it was and I mean to have this request and conversation in peace not conflict :3

MemberGodzillaSep-19-2014 6:00 PMHIGH FLYERS TAG TEAM - Easy, easy!! It's not the world against you! We're all expressing opinions - and yours matters just as much as anyone else's! Don't let a simple discussion anger you so; nothing good will come of it. Consider this: everything being shared in this discussion is pure speculation and conjecture - there's nothing set in stone that says Ghidorah won't be an Earth-based life-form in Edwards' sequel. Come on; let's put this behind us and share in our enjoyment of the Godzilla franchise - not be torn apart by petty arguments! This site is for us geeks to have fun! :)

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-19-2014 6:01 PMThats like me saying not painting his spikes or Nails means he is not godzilla. They can do what they want as longs as he looks like Ghidorah. He doesn't need scales

MemberGodzillaSep-19-2014 6:18 PMHIGH FLYERS TAG TEAM - We are each unique living creatures upon this world. There will never be another person like you in the history of our planet. You are an irreplaceable and wonderful entity. The life that flows through you and gives rise to your hopes, dreams, fears and determination is unlike that which resides within any other person. Each man, woman and child is one-of-a-kind - and that goes for you as well. Never doubt your value and worth as a person. You are a valuable part of the collective whole known as Mankind; thus everything you are is, and always will be, of great importance. :)

MemberTitanosaurusSep-20-2014 4:33 AMHigh Flyers, the main problem we've been having is that there are several people on here who simply refuse to acknowledge that someone else's opinions matter at all. Now, that in and of itself is fine if they keep it to themselves, but not when they express it as superior over others' openly. You've been giving off that vibe, which is why we appear to have been giving you trouble, because we just want discussion to be calm and open-minded.
Even if that wasn't the intention, it still would be appreciated if you simply stopped trying to convert us to your opinions, and tried convincing us instead. Simple as that. Don't say we're wrong until confirmed at a later point where it can be decided, only say you don't agree, and why you think otherwise. Simple.
If the majority of us believe space is a bit of a better origin point for the three-headed emperor, fine. If you believe Earth is better, fine.

Something Real
MemberGodzillaSep-20-2014 5:27 AMTHEGMAN123 - Indeed. Everyone's opinion is valuable - regardless if it is the popular one or not. :)
As an aside, as long as I get to experience the grand nightmare that is King Ghidorah, I'm not overly concerned with his origin. Just gimme' that fantastic beast! :)

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-21-2014 9:30 PMMeh yeah ghidorah may be able to survive in space but heres the problem.
It is impossible for ghidorah to fly in space, especially when theres no air friction to support his wings. Now I think keeping him an earth monster would be the better path to go. Like maybe just like gojira, all these chinese and japanese dragons we see in legends today were inspired by ghidorah.

MemberTitanosaurusSep-22-2014 6:34 AMGojira 2014 - Yeah, but he also doesn't necessarily need to fly through space either. He could arrive simply by riding the asteroid express :P
Plus, him flying at all given how big he is in comparison to Godzilla is a bit of a stretch as it is, no matter how big you make the wings. In fact, you couldn't possibly make the wings significantly bigger without making him look ridiculous with them. He's known for his large body, long necks, and smaller wings.
Earth, space, no origin so far makes any more overall sense than the other. The idea is obviously a bit of a stretch anyways for this new Legendary universe, but we'll just have to go along with it C:
Humans are afraid of the unknown, and space is extremely unknown. The very idea of such a terrifying lifeform born in what we consider a mostly lifeless abyss whom could travel to our little planet is a terrifying notion, don't ya think? Earth-born, to me personally, is a bit degrading for the likes of the golden emperor.
But then again, it's just my opinion :3

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 12:24 AMMeh i disagree, I think giving him an earth orgin makes more sense my opinion (*,)_(*.)

AdminGodzillaSep-24-2014 12:30 AM^I don't understand this comment. Or the two above it.
I think an alien origin explains King Ghidorah perfectly without having to explain him at all really. Instead of being an elaborate mutation or ancient creature, he simply came from space and that's that.
One nice thing about the latest Godzilla film is that while explaining Godzilla's so-called origins they really gloss over the how, what and why with, "This is it. This is Godzilla. This is what he's doing. Deal with it." And move on with the story. Giving King Ghidorah an alien origin would not only differentiate him from Godzilla, but still allow the filmmakers to gloss over the pesky details of his origin and get on with the movie's storyline.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 12:44 AMGMAN2887@ Im sorry bro but in case you havn't noticed the change in movie go'ers today...we demand explanations, and making ghidorah an alien and not telling us anything else is just pure lazy. Trust me dude, we film go'ers may allow marvel and DC get away with this whole alien thing, but they will certaintly not let it slide with this film. Besides they gave us more than enough information about godzilla, which I like. They didn't just say he was an ancient predator, they gave us other information like, hes an alpha predator, hunts muto, feeds off of radiation, ect
