I was reading a Gareth Edwards interview , when he was asked of any other familiar monsters in the movie he said:

"The other monsters in the movie are original, but we basically ripped off another Toho monster, (laughs)"

I can't think of a Toho monster that could have been ripped off resembling the MUTOs anyone have any ideas?

Legendary has rights to use Godzilla, they purchased the rights, it's not ripping off. You guys aren't really informed about this are you?
